    What are your favorite packing tools and organizers?

    • @M0ebius

      I run a TAD OP1 pouch as my dopp, a Goruck 10L packing cube for clothes and shoes, and a Muji organizer for tech.

    This is really well thought out. I wish a company would do something like this for the motorcycle community. The inherently limited space necessitates an organized system. It'd be great to see a collaboration between a group of companies like PacSafe, Wolfman and Peak Systems.

    TRAVEL TOOTHPASTE HACKS: many dentists have boxes and boxes of sample-sized toothpaste, floss, floss threaders, lip balm, and even toothbrushes, and will be more than happy to have you take a handful home. My dentist also puts them in clear plastic zippered envelopes that are great for making first aid kits, vitamin pouch containers, jewelry holders, etc. If you *do* need to refill a travel-sized toothpaste, you can do so by squeezing most of the air out of both the smaller and larger tubes, then butt the two open toothpaste tubes’ nozzles against each other, and carefully squeeze toothpaste from the larger to the smaller tube. If it starts leaking out the sides, stop, push gently in on the creased edges of the small tube to suck the errant paste into the tube, and repeat until the little tube is full again.

  • @Youknowthebo

    Awesome video. I'M not sure if I missed it: What about the empty weight? Considering all of the features, compartments and organization there must be a lot of extra fabric and hardware compared to other bags. Are this bag and the pouches noticeably heavier than others?

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  6 років тому +6

      Hey Bo! Tom here. They're actually quite lightweight, even with everything going on. The pouches aren't as light as say, a ripstop nylon packing cube, however, when comparing them to the weight of the Black Ember Citadel Modular pouches (which I believe you have?) they're quite a bit lighter.
      Good shout - it would be beneficial to discuss weight in all reviews, especially if anything is out of the ordinary.

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  5 років тому

      Hey Michael - we tested this out and the large camera cube just fits inside the Aer Travel Pack 2. This is a very tight squeeze, which will push the bag to its limits and means that you have very little space for everything else. The medium camera cube fits in a lot more comfortably and takes up around 2/3 of the main compartment. Hope this helps! 😊👍

      @@PackHacker Got everything today. Pretty overwhelmed with all the compartments and accessories!! Tried the iPhone 8+ with a case, Connected my Anker battery and tested multiple cables. The shorter ones worked best but they all ended up working without much issue. The Tech pouch is effing brilliant!! The travel pack it's self is way more comfortable than the Thule Subterra I returned (which turned out to be a good move). Loaded it with my 15" MBP some of my Sony kit into the medium camera cube and walked around for a while. I love the waist strap, it makes a huge difference with all this weight. Travel wise this would be almost masochistic though. I would leave the cube at home and just have a minimal camera setup in a small case. Utilize the medium / small packing cubes, tech / wash pouches. The reason I bought the camera cube is for shoots somewhere that requires hiking. For that the cube comes in clutch.
      It seems to me that if someone is looking to get into one bag travel, PD is THE one stop shop and offers the best value. (especially with KS discounts) The whole travel ecosystem PD created is so impressive and well thought out. So glad I backed it :) Man I'm stoked!! Could you tell?

    I never understood one pouch to carry all tech stuff. Normally, you only do one task at a time - recharge your phone or recharge your laptop or copy photos, so why do you want to whip out all of your tech items at the same time? Also, it's much easier to misplace/lose a small bag like that than storing your items in a larger bag. Toiletry bags make sense as you want to move all that stuff to the bathroom at once.

    Is there any security on the pouches like PeakDesign has on the bags?

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  5 років тому

      Hey Brandon - there's no extra security, but there is a tear-away zipper and compression zipper. And, although this isn't a specific feature, it would be possible to lock the zippers together using a padlock. 😊

    The tech pouch looks great. I wish there were other brands with the same kind of opening design, just a bit smaller and a bit less expensive... Especially for people like me not in the US, import duties add up to the 60$ price... I did order the travel bag few weeks ago, but I'll probably regret not taking the tech pouch too.. I didn't find a good alternative yet

      @GlobalAdventurer 6 років тому +1

      I'm sure a packhacker rep will be by to answer your question soon, but for all liquids, gels and paste consistency products, the pouch has to be clear and only one quart in size. Not sure if that's what you were asking.

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  6 років тому +1

      @@GlobalAdventurer - thanks for answering! Marcel - we haven't head an issue bringing this directly through security on any of our flights, however, we always make sure to have a TSA Quart-Sized baggie rolled up and stored within the pouch. That way, we can easily transfer any 3oz liquids containers into it + we always make sure it will fit prior to departing.

    Can medium, small and tech pouch fit into Aer Travel pack 2?

    • @PackHacker
      @PackHacker  6 років тому

      Hey Min Thant Phwe! I just tested this for you. The Medium and Small packing cube can fit in the Aer Travel Pack 2 perfectly length-wise. Depending on how full you pack everything, you may be able to stack the tech pouch on top of one of the cubes OR in the bottom of front pocket horseshoe opening where the organization is. Might get a tad bulky though.
      Note: The zippered exterior pocket on the Aer Travel Pack 2 is too narrow to fit the tech pouch.
      Hope this helps!
