@@nehemiahpouncey3607 he was my personal fav since I was a Namco fanboy as a kid and primarily played the ps2 version but honestly it’s arguably the worst version unfortunately lmao
Seriously..the flames in the background, the dynamic poses, the way the character models load in, and how you see the fighters in their entirety. So badass
Soul Calibur 3 had my favorite roster plus they also had minor characters with their own unique fighting styles rather than carbon copy characters like in the rest of the series
SC2 might be the biggest game that popularized the display of full body 3d models in the selection screen... Which has become more common in the fg world lately. Tag 1 did it first technically but the screen didnt show the whole model and it was just their plain standing fighting pose. Then modern fgs like gave the models unique and personalized animations. I wonder if the next VF and the next fgs from SNK and Arc Systems will follow that style.
Granted Dante was supposed to be in Soul Caliber 3 but didn't was a disappointment, Shredder would have been a good guest character in one of the titles
SC excelled also at stylish presentation in the 00s, doing many unique ideas. And it was also a great technology flex from the devs. The full body models in the selection scren, their faces showing on closeup in SC2 versus screen, the battle intro animations showing them in a "cinematic" closeup camera, and the general battle intro showing the stage and followed by an epic narration. It was so much ahead of everything else. The character battle intro animation, that shows the model in a closeup camera, slowly became the staple of the whole genre. They just became more elaborate but the roots are in SC totally. It was quickly adopted by TK, VF and DOA, then former 2d/sprite games like SF4, MK9, etc. In the 90s all battle intros were plain animations before the round start, in Capcom and SNK games, etc. So introducing cinematic intros was vital to enhance the presentation in the genre. Nowadays we get game with much flashier cinematic intros like in Arc Systems games, MK11 and MK1, etc, but everyone owes SC.
Soul calibur will always have a special place in my heart. Shout out to Peter piper pizza in the early 2000s. Soul calibur, house of the dead 2, and old wallbangers burger bar on expressway McAllen.
I hope so but I lack that much hope, because there's a big difference between TK and SC in franchise fame, influence and sales. And we saw it clearly last time with TK7 and SC6. When it was new it was bigger because of the DC hype and the excellent sequel that was SC2, meanwhile TK4 had some controversies.
Once again, SC1 is where the true identity of SC started to show, even in the menus. SC6 will still be my favourite, tho. The artstyle and music are just perfect 👌 As much as i'm not the biggest fan of SC4 and its art direction, the music of the menu is still very nostalgic ngl
Idk how SC6 is so nostalgic for me. I barely played it (getting into it more now) but I just feel like it captures the vibe of my favourite Soulcalibur games (2 and 3) so well. The entire series seemed to do well in always feeling familiar in presentation and I appreciate that a lot.
@ True, but I don’t really care. That game was my childhood and loved it every time I played it. I’ve seen loads of hate on this game all the time and it doesn’t bother me anymore
I really want a new soul calibur game, the designs has always been amazing, and the artstyle is so beautiful, for me it has one of the best guest characters in all games, like no one saw those characters in the game specially the star wars characters, sadly is hard to tell if this series will return in the future, maybe some day will be back in the stage of story.

Kinda how I feel about the SC6 newcomers but at least pretty much all the old characters are there. Charade was just mokukin same with edge master I think but not as sure on that one.
"Wait a minute, wasn't Dante from Capcom's Devil May Cry franchise supposed to be a guest appearance in #SoulCalibur3 on #PlayStation2??????????" 🤨💭📱📸💯 #MiddlebrooksFanatics♈
What's your favorite SC?
Soul Calibur I, III, V, and VI.
Soul calibur v
Soul Calibur IV. Due to it being my first Soul Calibur game and the addition of Star Wars thanks to Darth Vader.
SCIII
4,5 and 6. Absolutely loved the guest characters.
I was so excited when saw Vader and Mitsurugi clash in that intro for 4.
As for Soul calibur 2, it was a real Culture shock.
Bro it still shocks me to this day. Link showing up in another game that isn’t Nintendo is insane
Heihachi was the best one to play.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607 he was my personal fav since I was a Namco fanboy as a kid and primarily played the ps2 version but honestly it’s arguably the worst version unfortunately lmao
2:01 peak of fighting games there
Seriously..the flames in the background, the dynamic poses, the way the character models load in, and how you see the fighters in their entirety. So badass
God i miss this series so much. My soul still burns for more!
Welcome to the Stage of History.
Soon to be revival of Project Soul Series will making return.
I love Project Soul Series.
Soul Calibur 3 had my favorite roster plus they also had minor characters with their own unique fighting styles rather than carbon copy characters like in the rest of the series
4 in 1 compilation: selection screen, versus screen, intro animation, round call. I like them better this way.
SC2 was the reason I main Yoshimitsu in Tekken.

The full body 3d models always stood out to me as being epic af

What i love about SC II and SC III select screen is where the chars soul turn into flesh specially SC III for having a lot of features as PS2 hardware

My absolute favorite of all time! Lost count on how long I've played this masterpiece.
Soul Blade and SC2 will always be my fav growing up as a kid up to my teen years 🙏.......

The best one! And my favorite!
SC1, 2, and 3 are still among the greatest fighting games ever. True masterpieces ❤
I hope a new Soul Calibur game comes out in the future because hey we got Tekken 8.
Weir...still...waiting.
Then better be like soul caliber 2

I came here for Soul Calibur II, stayed for Soul Calibur IV Jesus I never realized how good that game looks.
Soul Calibur 2 will always be my favorite game in the series. Can’t beat the character select theme 🔥
Once again, SC1 is where the true identity of SC started to show, even in the menus.
SC6 will still be my favourite, tho. The artstyle and music are just perfect 👌
As much as i'm not the biggest fan of SC4 and its art direction, the music of the menu is still very nostalgic ngl
I love Soul Edge/Blade.
I love seeing these for the new and removed characters from each game.
Soul Calibur II is still awesome
Oh the memories 🥹
Thank you for the vid, I really love the SC franchise, I played all games since 3, it made part of my childhood.
Good thing showing both console and arcade versions of the first 2.
Soul Edge's skeleton portrait used to scare me when I was a kid
Soul Blade was great, but Soul Calibur on Dreamcast was a masterpiece, the series just couldn't top itself after that.
my first SC-game is "Soul Calibur 2" in a Gamecube-version!
I love SC2 but SC1V had an awesome soundtrack, best intro and best guest character in Darth Vader.
Legends will never die
SCV will always be my favourite
I hope you have your defenses ready bc you're in for a swarm of SCV haters 😭
@ True, but I don’t really care. That game was my childhood and loved it every time I played it. I’ve seen loads of hate on this game all the time and it doesn’t bother me anymore
@ As long as you are happy with what you have then I won't try to ruin it. All SC games have their type of feel in the games which makes it so lovable
Like how they sacrificed Raphael to
The guest charaters.😂
Feeding lambs to the slaughter.
The legend will never die
Heihachi in soul Calibur 2 was beast.
Soul blade 😍
omg this series has the best guest characters 😳
Omg the nostalgia is hitting hard
Sucks how Yoshimitsu never got a Tekken 3 costume . That would be freaking awesome .
Man going back they really fucked up the character selection for V
Would kill for collection on PS5
Soul calibur para gamecube es toda una experiencia y link un detalle de fina coquetería!!!
Like how maxi keeps making soul
Calibur despite being dead.😂
Never explains why he's alive.
He's everyone's homeboy.
I enjoyed Soul Calibur III.
No había un Soulcalibur en el que salía Lloyd Irving de Tales of Symphonya?
Hope SC7 see the light
I’m glad you didn’t include the free one lol

Charade?
Edge master?
Patrick star:who are you guys?😱
Kinda how I feel about the SC6 newcomers but at least pretty much all the old characters are there.
Charade was just mokukin same with edge master I think but not as sure on that one.

The deal probably fell through.
