Thought I would share a side passion of UA-cam filming. We all like to update our equipment but sometimes older is better in my opinion. What a gem. Recently found.
Very cool! Looks like a scaled-down version of an antique tripod I own. I also have a vintage mini-tripod, but as cool as it is, I like yours better. I may post a response video to show you.
For $20 in Serbia, I have the same one but without the raising mechanism and the tilting handle (still tilts though). I love it so much, it has a really slim footprint, an astonishing build quality. It's on a hefty side in terms of weight but not an issue
Funny... I have that same tripod I inherited it from my uncle. I think it's pretty cool. I don't think I own a tripod that's less than 35 yrs old. Personally I prefer the two handle tripod I have an easier time fine tuning my framing that way. I prefer the separatation of the swing and til adjustments. Plus if I want to pan from side to side it keeps my up and down framing from bouncing up and down. But if we're talking micro size tripods and framing isn't real critical then the mono ball Ould be faster.
I feel they both have some value. The vintage VIVO is ultra cool, but I would use it at home or studio. The lighter weight plastic ones for camping and hiking.
GAAH! Gets me every time. When you rotate the camera left-to-right, that is a pan, but up-and-down is TILT. I majored in this stuff in college, and yes, I got kicked out and joined the Navy, but I still grind my teeth every time someone describes EVERY camera movement as "pan". Rant over. Have a nice day.
Thanks for educating me. I’ll not do that again. Oh and to think my father was a professional photographer his entire life back when not everybody could do it.
The cameras of the sixties had very beautiful characteristics. Unfortunately, these characteristics are not found in modern cameras, and I mean by the characteristics that we glimpse in the photo that was taken. For example, let us remember the pictures of the singer Elvis Presley. Let us examine his pictures a lot and try to look into the characteristics of the cameras of the sixties, how they have a charm and distinction that is not found in Cameras of the current era or those before it from the nineties and eighties Photography or types of cameras have strange properties and advantages, and photography still has secrets and magic that those who make cameras have not yet realized.
Give me vintage stuff every time. That would look good with my film cameras! Aloha.
There is no contest here. The old one is the one I'd have, for sure! It is indeed, a beautiful thing.
I like the older one! Very cool👌🏼😃
Indeed, such a shiny old tripod is worthy to be used to capture the glory and beauty of your driveway! (forgive me, I couldn't resist!)
🙄
I've got the exact same one! It was my dads and it works great

Back when we knew what quality was. The plastic need replacement if you use it a lot.

My sentiments exactly.

just found your channel on the outdoorsman, im a fairly new stealth camper in the SCA! I just subscribed!
Old one for sure!
I would do the old ones all day long. I have 3 tripods from the 70’s mini to tall. Still going great. New plastic crap is just that CRAP
It sure is pretty
Did you notice that it wasn't a coffee grinder? I'm guessing, no. LOL.
Love it! There must be a story behind this…. What is it’s height? I definitely need to find one of these!
Man that old one is beautiful. Nice find! Where did you find it by the way? I seriously think I'll be on the lookout for something similar. Jim
Look in thrift stores. I also like the vintage Vivitar Model 1102.
