Great video, thanks for sharing! The CBSA officer was quite pleasant but he did ask very directly about the three things Canadian authorities really care about: alcohol, tobacco and firearms. The officer asking about the guns and when they were last in the RV was him making a determination whether he needed to send you to secondary or not. Canadian officials can be very friendly but they mean business when it comes to firearms.
You should be so proud of yourselves, you have learned so many skills a lot of people your age never learn. Sad fact but true. Keep on trucking guys well done❤❤❤.
Hey Kids I love watching your adventures. My wife and I took our travel trailer through the border crossing in this video last June and the border agent was very rude and unfriendly.
I think it all depends on, what border crossing you use, where I live, we have three choices soon to be four, and you are treated different at each crossing, I think a lot of it has to do with what kind of day the border agent is having.

Our 1st time crossing into Canada was last summer and they had us pull up and open the truck and camper as 2 boarder agents search our camper. We got the well since this is your 1st time we are going to go ahead and search you. We stayed in Banff for 2 weeks…. Absolutely amazing. Craig looked like he was struggling in the beginning of the video…. lol
Cool, this video brings back memories of our family trip back in 1971. Chicago area to Jasper, AB. Very exciting, different country, a lot further north than I had ever been and in a Foreign country!! You will have a ton of fun, I am sure!
Welcome back to Canada!!! I think you'll find the Border Services Officers a bit more laid back at the less busy crossings. Looking forward to your next video!!
I think you guys psych yourself up and when you are there at the moment the nerves kicks in trying to get it all right: my opinion is just be yourself and go with the flow, always have your paperwork but other than that just be yourself! Other than that you all did great and have fun!!!
I can’t believe you went through Cranbrook!! The view of the Rockies here is amazing but you likely didn’t see them at all due to the weather. It’s been much colder this year than normal. And kingsgate is a great border. I just came home that way today, turned on your video and saw where you crossed. Enjoy your journey in Canada and Alaska!
we go south to AZ every winter and cross at the Sweetgrass border in Montana, they are always nice, we can’t bring eggs or poultry in. But coming home is always tense, they are so concerned about how much liquor we bought. But have fun and enjoy your trip

Worst experience was one time crossing from NY to Cornwall, Ontario and they decided to search the 5th wheel. Checking drawers they found a gun lock that we had gotten a rv rally and then had a terrible time convincing them that we did not have any guns in the rv. They searched every cupboard and storage area before finally letting us go. Have crossed many other times with no issues. Coming back from Alaska and crossing at Vancouver they checked the refrigerator.
Wow, great video kids, real time ya'll are already in Alaska. Look forward to that trip before i get to old. .....be careful on those rv axles, i have 5200lb Dexter's on my rv and bend the drivers rear sometime in the Smoky's last September.
Great, (Hast makes waste) most of the time. That rear tire will need to be replaced after our trip out to NM. and south Colorado this past March and April. The other 3 tires still look great after two years 😄
Great info! I think you have the Garmin that we do..maybe? You can change it to km as well. And that is by gps so maybe there’s an option to do that and compare against your dash?
Fun video kids!! Congrats on getting into Canada. We're gonna pay close attention to your time there as we are thinking of doing the TransCan next year from Vancouver to Nova Scotia. Safe travels!!
I think I passed you yesterday, I was in the blue Volvo pulling a Seismic toy hauler. I had a little white car on the truck. If so, look great heading north. Safe travels. Love the videos.
We crossed over in Oreville Washington last week. Nobody in line and through in less than 2 minutes! Made it to Tok yesterday. We’re saving Jasper and Banff for when he head back from Alaska. Then headed to Glacier NP and down through Idaho.
@@wildrvlife Yes, going well so far! We hurried up to Alaska to pickup our daughter in Anchorage. She teaches in Florida and flew up to travel with us for about 40 days while she’s off for the summer. We did visit Chicken before picking her up.
Make sure you stop at the Mount Robson Visitor Center to take in the views. If you visit Jasper after Banff is is on the way to Highway 97 or it is worth the short short trip from 97. The campground is very nice and only $28 CAD if you want to spend a day or two exploring the area. There are some nice hikes and waterfalls in the area. Wells Grey is also a nice stop. You can spend a day driving to then end of the park road then stopping along the way for a few amazing waterfall hikes. There are two very large ones. I just saw a recommendation for traveling Alaska is to "Get yourself a Bob." What that means is have someone driving in front of you. Watch when their vehicle bobs up and down to show you where the frost heaves are so you can slow down when going over them.
It’s always worse when returning to your home country which is ironically the only one where they can’t say “you can’t come in”. We we are Canadian and going to the US is easy providing you know what you can and can’t bring.
We crossed backed into Canada by Laurier, WA & the border dude was also chill. He asked us to roll the back window down so he could see our dog, who gave a big bark hello! We had to wait to pull ahead when we got there yet there wasn’t anyone in sight! I said that he thought it would be a good time to go to the bathroom & of course someone shows up🤣. We stayed at the Kooteny National Park RedStreak campground in Radium! All sites are pull through (in loop H) and many sites are full hookups. It is absolutely beautiful campground.
lol I've definitely decided that I prefer the smaller border crossings... much more chill. and that campground sounds really nice.. i will have to look into that one for next time!
Suprised you did not say EH when you declared your Canadianship... LOL I was waiting for that. Should had called this "5 Mistakes you can't help yourself from doing." lol. Welcome back to Cannuckland☃
Squawk box in the Navy refers to the intercom boxes around the ship for emergency communications. It's also known as a "b" box. I'll let you figure that out.

Welcome back to Canada!!! 🇨🇦 safe travels. We are headed to Maine this summer after going to Fundy National park in New Brunswick, Canada. We find most border crossings into the US & back home to Canada are easy. Always get the odd stickler 😄
As a Canadian, I love watching border crossing videos. About 80% of the Canadian population lives within a two hour drive of the US border so we are more conditioned to crossing. I find that crossing into the US is easier than coming back into Canada. For us, the Canadian border officers are mostly concerned with collecting tax on alcohol. Only had border officers on either side of the border look in our RV once and he just opened the door and looked in. Didn’t actually step inside.
When you guys do get back to Idaho...try and go to City of Rocks...off the beaten path but a very cool place...reserve early to get into the campground there...really nice and great showers...and rock climbing!!
Another suggestion is to lower all the windows on the driver's side. Been asked that numerous times by both the Canadian and US crossings. They want to be able to view the entire interior of the vehicle.
That was cool like perfect insight into the crossing thanks. Victoria I drive semi and no one has been able guide me as well as you. Have fun you guys thanks for another insightful episode 👍❤️
We stayed in site 140 (I originally thought it was 110) last summer at Ridgeview Resort. Beautiful place. Had the same issue at the same corner. And mine was a pull through but I had to back out. Have a look at that site.......No way I could have pulled through. If you have time I would make the trek to Lussier Hot springs. It's maybe 40 minutes south and then 15 miles up a logging road. Natural hot springs on the side of a river.
We did notice that some of the sites that were “pull through” didn’t look so pull through 😆 we were definitely one of the larger rigs there besides a few class As that I was impressed got into the sites!

I love that bed cover on your truck. I wish I would have known about that before I got my bakflip cover. I have the Laramie mega cab also, I love my truck 👍🏻🇺🇲
Nice vid. You made it through!! One note on firearms....from the Canada site: Non-restricted firearms - most normal hunting rifles and shotguns fit into this category, and are allowed to be transported into Canada by an adult on a temporary basis for sporting or hunting use (including personal protection against wildlife in remote areas). Transporting firearms through Canada is not difficult if they fit this classification, as non-restricted guns can also be brought into the country by people who are driving through Canada to or from Alaska. Travelers who declare a non-restricted firearm, such as a US citizen going on a hunting trip with a shotgun, can sign an RCMP Non-Resident Firearms Declaration upon arrival at Canadian border.

I love that bed cover on your truck. I wish I would have known about that before I got my bakflip cover. I have the Laramie mega cab also, I love my truck 👍🏻🇺🇲
We really like the Retrax bed cover. It's nice to be able to lock it in any position
That is some beautiful part of Canada I have worked in Salmon arm it’s nice there.
It really is such a beautiful area!
Walmarts, at the border crossing. Who would have thought 😉 As long as there is water & a dump station
Welcome to Canada.......enjoy
Thank you!
Looking forward to your next videos. Great job!
thank you!!
Travelers who declare a non-restricted firearm, such as a US citizen going on a hunting trip with a shotgun, can sign an RCMP Non-Resident Firearms Declaration upon arrival at Canadian border.
good info!! thank you!
