You have to go to Lake Moraine at sunrise. Absolutely our best photo on our western trip. We camped in a Canadian park near Lake Louise. Took a bus to the lake at 4:30. On the bus back to the campground they told us that there are 68 bears in the park and most of them forage near our campground. The tour guide advised that there are 2 types of campgrounds where we were the “hard side” (trailers & class A, B,C) and the “soft side” (tents & popups). The soft side has a strong fencing. So we arrive back at our RV at 9 am where we were questioned by a ranger. Seems like our neighbors in the small trailer next to us were shaken at about 5 am accompanied by a loud “Woof”. So we missed our “visitor” that morning.

Fun fact..... My mother used to work at the Lodge at Athabaske Glacier back when the glacier almost reached the highway. She grew up in Jasper her father was the "Station Master" at the CN rail station in Jasper P/S I'm 73 now that should tell you how long ago that was.... ;-) You gotta check out the Salmon Glacier it's epic!! and you can drive right to it, (not with the trailer though), Camp at Meziadin Lake Provincial Park and drive in with the pickup only

People forget the 5th grade science experiment of putting an ice cube out and seeing if it melts faster as it gets smaller. If you go back through Wisconsin sometime take Highway 14 between Madison and LaCrosse it goes through the area they say is unglaciated in the last ice age. The bluffs and valleys are a nice view. You got some excellent shots in the cave and that was a quick shot getting the mad goat running past. Hope your trip goes great and you stay safe and healthy.

Loved this video! We live in Calgary (about 45 mins from Banff) and it was so fun to see our backyard through your eyes! I’ve never been to the Exshaw bunker, and it looks like a place to check out :-) As for the weather, you hit one of the coldest springs I ever remember - but September and October are usually pretty warm. Depending on how long you stay in Alaska, you may want to come back and try a few more amazing Rocky Mountain hikes.

Before I became allergic to peanuts, I used to put peanut butter on baked fish, pike in particular. You should try it. Craig, you are in Canada now, use maple syrup on your pancakes. It's been nearly 50 years since I was in Banff and up to Jasper. I still miss the beautiful scenery and the sound of a thunderstorm in the mountains. The icefield has been shrinking for many years. When I was there, in the 70's, it almost reached the highway.

I just found your channel and very much enjoyed it, especially as you started in the Kootenays (where I'm from and my heart is, though you weren't in my area). I'm glad you enjoyed it. I smiled as you drove through and shared your comments. You'll be interested to know that much of the area gets quite hot in the summer, even past 100'F in July and August. And how that you have been to the ice fields you get to call knit hats by Canadian name of tuques (too -ks) and call it learning a strange language. ;-) Honestly the entire interior region between Banff and the coast are full of hidden gems that are often overlooked by people rushing to go straight through to the bigger most advertised destinations. If you do happen to stray from the fast track a good trick is to ask locals about what they know about.
I hope you both/all enjoy yourselves well and get your money's worth during your time in our country.
And P.S. Tim Hortons A.K.A. "Timmies" is no joke. Or, wait. Maybe it is a really big one. Any time a coffee/donut shop makes national news for the outrage of raising coffee prices by $.10 could very possibly be a joke. He was a hockey player BTW. This is serious business. It is as serious as the question of whether you are team Timmies or team Starbucks. Can't be both.
Sorry about the rain. Blame the cat.
    Cheers
