Alien invasion?? No. Boston has arrived! What a great choice LB. You really couldn't have gone wrong with any of those requests tbh. Classic Rock has so many underrated and underappreciated bands. Hope to see more of these classic tracks soon.
bro lots of new songs came out bdd blueface, tyga and YG, quavo ft takeoff or 6ix9ine and Kodak review that songs broo, love and peace, peace and love
you gotta do some more classic rock reaction. i have so many that i know youd love.
smokin by boston or cool the engines is worth a listen. even if it aint a reaction
Itd been a month do mudvayne dig trash or pass next
This whole album has that vibe. It is satisfying af.
Perfect album
And the second album... Feelin' Satisfied! 😆
Banger of an album
@@zachbrunner7098 My only #1 rated album through and through
Absolutely my brother
Soaring vocals, soaring guitars -- what's not to love about Boston?
An amazing achievement especially considering it was produced in Tom Scholz's basement.
When I saw Boston live,,,,I thought I was lifted above the ground 20 feet and did not come down till a few seconds after the last note played at end of the concert...INCREDIBLE...will never forget it
@@lilpoohbear653 I never got to see them. But I remember feeling close to that after the first Star Wars came out -- like I had been on another planet. Almost "More than a feeling" :-)
I'm from Cambridge and used to work for the band from 1975-1979. They used to record right up the street from the projects I grew up in. The place was called the "Music Complex" I would carry their equipment in and set it up. Then I got to relax a bit and watch them rehearse and jam. Guitarist Tom Scholz was the brainchild of the band, and could play any instrument. Lead vocalist Brad Delp ( God rest his soul), had the most amazing voice. Just killer. Great guys. I'll never forget that experience!
Thanks for that story. Quite an experience!
@@charliebrownsdad178 IT sure was. I also got to work with other Boston based bands like Aerosmith, The Cars, J. Geils Band and Extreme.
Master
Dude, way to awesome, my 3 favorite songs, foreplay/ long time, , time/ pink floyd, and check out joe bonamassa, mountain time, live at royal albert hall,
@danfreiday8390 All great tracks man! I really love Floyd! My favorite Boston tune is "Peace Of Mind."
This album holds the distinction of being the best selling "debut album" in music history. Rightfully so. Give the entire album a listen, it's awesome. I was lucky enough to be a teenager when this album dropped, along with so many other great bands of the 70/80's.
#1 selling debut album for 11 years, Every song got radio play.... Not many albums can say that...! (Still #2 behind Guns & Roses)
I was 10 when this came out. Best album ever in my opinion. No bad song
@leescarpelli3515 I'm 32 so I didn't get to grow up when all this great music was being made, but thanks to my dad for bringing me up listening to the music of those decades. But I 100% agree this Boston album is the best album ever, from front to back its a masterpiece!
Same!! I was 14 I guess it was probably 86 or 87, first time I heard them had the album and was hooked from there on out! ✌🏼👌🏼🤘🏼
More Than a Feeling studio version is FIRE! Singer is off the charts! One of the best debut albums ever!
Tom Sholz didn’t pick up a guitar until his early 20’s, and then when he did he taught himself how to play! A few years later, he CRANKS this one out, and he also played guitar and bass for the band. Dude was a genius
Lead singer Brad Delp had the most outstanding vocal range and the man could hold a note like water in a bucket! His vocals made "More than a feeling" a masterpiece!
Hell yeah. Boston is one of the G.O.A.T. in Rock HISTORY.
One of the greatest classic rock albums you'll ever hear, cover to cover - and it was their debut, recorded in the guitarist, Tom Scholz's basement. Tom is a genius songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and Brad Delp is on the Mt. Rushmore of classic rock vocalists. Every vocal harmony you hear in this track is Brad.
The BEST debut album ever!!! The "spaceships" are actually an upside down guitars and the cityscape of Boston is in the dome on top!!! Awesome album cover!!!🎵🎼🎶🎤🎹🥁🎸🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Probably one of the most dramatic song intros ever. THIS band is the real deal, hit after hit, can't go wrong with Boston. Thanks for your reaction.
I couldn't believe the title! I am absolutely in shock you just listened to Boston, one of my favorite bands. I'm 26, and I love rock music. You're awesome man.
Boston didn't produce many albums, but they were chock full of fantastic material. More Than A Feeling often polls as the #1 rock and roll song ever and it's on the same album. Hitch A Ride, A Man I'll Never Be, Don't Look Back, and so many more great tracks. Dig in, you'll be glad you did!
I vaguely remember having heard parts of this song before, that opening completely hooked me. Trying to expand my rock horizons and hear more classic bands/songs too
This song, like many others, skyrocketed Boston's popularity in the 70's, they started touring before they had a record deal. Boston was total fire in the 70's, there was nothing like them. "More Than A Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Hitchin a Ride", "Rock N' Roll Band", etc....! R.I.P. Brad Delp!
feels so good to see the same emotions come out of someone. top top tier song. fist time i heard it was when i was a young kid and was exploring my parents vinyl collection on the turn table. for reference i'm 38. this stuff was still a generation before me but it was what i got to play with with their stuff.
A timeless masterpiece from a timeless band. When that base kicks in, it's over. That organ carries it over the moon.
Gotta be a child of the 70's to really get the feel of BOSTON!! one of the greatest albums ever made!!
I was born in ‘84 but grew up listening to Boston as my parents were into them. One of the greatest rock bands ever!
I was born 88, and when I had more than a feeling in life they always gave me a peace of mind.
Boston is one of my favorite bands. You gotta hear More Than a Feeling. Great reaction!
You wouldn't go wrong just working your way through the entire album, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest debut albums in rock history. I saw them around 1977 in a small indoor arena and I think their second album was just coming out or something but they played everything from this first album. It was such a good show, and it was loud as hell but it really rocked and it still sounded so perfect and all the Stacked vocal harmonies ringing around inside this small Arena and just the crowd going insane and it was such a great experience. I kept the ticket stub for a long time, and believe me I went to a lot of concerts when I was young and then later played in bands at lots of smaller level shows. And it was $7.50 including taxes and the extra fees and so forth.
Boston’s self titled debut is still one of the top selling debuts of all time. Every song, literally, are a staple on classic rock stations around the world. Personally, I think it’s one of the best records ever recorded. If I had to choose five records to be stranded on a deserted island, this would be one if them. Play on …..
Easily in the Top 5 of all time
this would be my top 3 out of 5 albums to take - cause i know i would wear it out... 😜
You gotta listen to their song "More Than a Feeling"
Glad you are starting to get into classic rock....so fun. You have turned me on to so much new music. Thanks for the reactions!
My sophomore year in high school, 1976, that album came out and the world changed. No one had ever heard anything like it. Almost 50 years later it still sounds amazing!
yep - i was a junior in HS - and this is still my all time favorite album
and if you're having a bad day - any song on this album will put a smile on your face
You, my friend, have stumbled cross one of the best albums in history. EVERY song is epic. I look forward to you discovering and posting rection to the entire LP.
I love love LOVE how are the bridge has the acoustic guitar break two times, then it’s an electric guitar the last time! So tasteful.
Boston often gets overlooked in the lineup of more recognizable early rock bands, but damn if they didn’t have quite a few bangers. This is my dad’s favorite rock song, and it’s easy to see why.
Fire squad did not disappoint with this song choice from Boston 🔥
We lucky teens from the 70s and 80s used to think music was always this good. The whole album is excellent!
The greatest band loved by millions yet millions haven’t discovered them yet.
This is one of those rare albums that EVERY song on it was a hit and got radio air time.
Absolutely. There is not a bad track on that album
It was ALL OVER radio...! heard it everywhere.
If you haven't noticed, the Space Ships are shaped like Guitars.
Great reaction my Man!
PS. The entire 1st Boston Album DOES NOT have 1 bad song on it.
It is fire!!!
And their other albums are extremely good as well.
I remember cruising the freeway in my 1971 T-Bird 429 4 barrel topped out with the windows down & this comes on the radio.
You chose a song off one of the most iconic albums of rock and roll history! I was 15 when this album came out in 1976. Every song is a gem. Boston was a great band in the right place right time. Plenty to listen to with Boston. No autotune etc. in those days. You simply had to know how to sing and play your instrument. Nice reaction.
So glad you discovered Boston. Take your pick honestly. Vocals are so good. Personal favorite is this song!!
I'm thirty years old, and couldn't be more proud to have grown up on this and other classic rock!
Classic rock will always live on!
🤘🏻
Do the whole Debut album. Amazing throughout. Easily considered one of the best first albums ever.
Boston always has great sound effects
The zoom in's though. Boston is classic. Love the reaction.
This is probably one of the best debut albums out there okay maybe the top five since there are a couple of really good ones too but this for the longest time was considered one of the best Please consider listening to the whole thing every single song is a gem
This is by far, is my FAVORITE reaction video of yours. Born in the 80s, I will still always enjoy Boston. Appreciate you taking up on that suggestion!
Their vocalist Brad Delp did ALL the vocals on this album....supremely talented. The head mind of Boston, Tom Scholz, played all the instruments except drums, also recorded, mixed, and engineered the whole album in the studio he built in his basement; he went to MIT and got a Masters in mechanical engineering, designed and built most of the special effects you hear. This album was the #1 debut album of all time for 16-17 years....
@daniellloret3769 what a load of Boston urban legend BS. Tom did NOT play all of the instrument tracks on this record except drums. Barry plays electric rhythm guitars on Foreplay, Long Time and Let Me Take You Home. Barry plays lead guitar on Long Time. Barry plays lead and slide guitar on Let Me Take You Home. Brad plays acoustic 12 string on Let Me Take You Home. Fran plays bass on Foreplay and Let Me Take You Home.
As for engineering Tom does not talk about the fact that his initial drum tracks for the record were so "amateurish" that Boylan hired LA Engineer Paul Grupp to go to Toms home studio and teach Tom how to record acoustic instruments properly and proper mic technique. Boylan then told Tom that all of his drum and acoustic instrument tracks had to be redone. Tom is brilliant and a great engineer but he had help, and Tom has been too arrogant and egoistical to openly admit this and to show gratitude for what Boylan did for him and for this record.
Tom's Dan Flickinger console/mixer could not handle the mixing and pre-production duties for this record. Nether could Toms 12 track Sculley tape machine. Brads vocals would not sound as good as they do were it not for the fact that they were recorded at Capital Studios Studio C by producer John Boylan. This record was mixed at Westlake Studios in LA by producer John Boylan, engineer Warren Dewey and Tom, In order to keep up with Tom pushing the guitars and cymbals so hard, the console was driven into what Boylan calls "manual compression just to keep the vocals and other instruments high enough to be heard in the mix.
If you want to look at some good sources check out the interview that Boylan did with Mix Magazine, the legal documents for the lawsuits between Tom and Barry and the liner notes of the 2006 Scholz (not the Sony) remaster of the Boston debut record. Tom has a habit of selectively reporting the facts and minimizing or ignoring the contributions of others. Those who have worked with Tom say that he is very autocratic, that he is difficult to work with and that he is a my way or the highway kind of guy.
You are correct. I knew them personally.
I saw this band live twice and I listened to them since the 80
I will never forget that this was the first song on both ovations
We hey are part of my history
By the way they all are sound engineers and they built their own instruments
@TheJlrc07 Urban legend. Tom did not build his Les Paul. Tom did not build his Hammond M3. Tom did not build his Hohner Clavinet. Tom did not build the Gibson bass that he used either. That does not even touch upon Barry and his guitar, Sib and his drums, and Fran and his bass none of which were made by Tom or band member X. So what specific instruments did Tom or any other Boston member past or present build?
The beautiful thing about music in the 70s and 80s was we heard whatever the radio played. We were exposed to many new sounds from an eclectic selection of amazing artists.Remembering those days is particularly satisfying.
I had the chance to go see one of Boston very last shows at the marina in Cleveland Ohio. Even all these years later they still put on one hell of a good show. Good times indeed!
Peace of Mind and More Than a Feeling and this song are my top 3 by them.
Ayyy you picked my song. Nice reaction, Layed!
Well done sir.
Great choice bro.
One of the greatest masterpieces of our time.
One of the greatest Rock songs produced.
Great seeing your Generation enjoy the music from mine..
At 60 , I still Rock this.. When I listen to Boston , so do my neighbors
Best debut album ever! Every song is amazing
When this came out, I was a kid. I was walking into a Department store's Music section and turned a corner and there was a rack with hundreds of albums and cassettes of this Album. It's one of my favorite road trip albums in my JEEP with the top down.
Im 52 now, my brother and I would be cruising in his LTD jamming this loud on the dirt roads, 70s, yess❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Highly recommend more than a feeling or peace of mind by Boston, those are some of their other greatest hits.
“Boston” came out of nowhere and EXPLODED onto the scene in 1976! This is off their debut album which became the biggest selling debut album of all time (17 million copies). You couldn’t hardly get a ticket to one of their concerts as they sold our fast. Tom Scholz wrote & recorded all of the songs in his BASEMENT in Boston (the city). He was a genius sound engineer and bass guitar player playing in local Boston bands and clubs at night while being a sound engineer for Polaroid during the day. And his friend, Brad Delp, sings ALL of the vocals on this, and their subsequent, killer albums. Every freakin’ song on this baby is a winner. Their follow-up album, “Don’t Look Back,” is also incredible - 7 million sold. You’re gonna love going down the “Boston” rabbit hole!
@Widdermaker GnR Appetite for Destruction is the biggest selling debut record not Boston. Tom did not write all of the songs. Let Me Take You Home was written by Brad and Brad co-wrote Smokin'. All of the songs were NOT recorded in Toms basement either Let Me Take You Home was recorded at The Record Plant LA by the band as pictured on the back of the record. In addition all of Brads vocals sans Let Me Take You Home were recorded by producer John Boylan at Capital Studios Studio C. Tom's degrees from MIT are in mechanical engineering and he was a not a "sound engineer" for Polaroid.
Brad was never just some kind of an add on hey I got my friend to sing on my record. Brad had been working with Tom, Barry and Jim Masdea since 1969/1970. Brads vocals were on the demo that was heard by Epic and producer John Boylan and Brads voice was a key part of the "Boston Sound" from the get go and that is why Brad was signed by Epic at the same time Tom was.
I love Boston saw them in concert years ago. That was a fantastic day. 💯🎸😎✌️👏💥🤩😃😀
That incredible opening--I've always described it as "Bach as Rock." Incredible.
Boston was way ahead of their time, listen to it, it still is badass. I’ve been a fan since they started. Sucks all you younger people missed out on living life with real music.
I’m named after the song Amanda. Brad Delp was an amazing man. He lived a town over from me growing up and the community felt the loss when he took his life.
I picked my Granddaughters name after it as well so your not alone out there.
That's the song I was going to recommend. That and Cool The Engines.
This is what’s so great about the music back then. Rather than borrowed beats and cookie cutter style, it was very unique, creative and artistic! So many different styles to vibe to. 🫶✨👌
Brad Delp was the lead singer, he also did the background vocals.
Been listening for 47 years and it NEVER GETS OLD
Great to see the younger generation listening to the type of music I grew up listening to. Great reaction
They amazing band I listen to them in my teens
Brad is not only one of the greatest vocalists in Rock, but also one of the greatest bassists of all time.
Hey this band changed my life! They are awesome... did u notice the album cover is a FN guitar? Look at it from the side.. you'll see it!
Brad Delp is lead singer on this album with an unbelievable Vocal Range!!! Ty for posting this.. and it is sad he passed away In 2007....
Listen to More than Feeling to really hear those vocals! Thanx and I subscribed to your channel! W☆
Boston is a trip. One of the best albums of all time
BOSTON IS FIRE!!!
one of my all time favorite boston songs. 4 albums and i got them all and listen to them more than any others
One of the biggest debut albums of all time. Play the rest. You'll get it
Support from Australia 🇦🇺 brother, my Dad always used to say time waits for no man. I'ved listened to this for over 40 years, I'm 61 play this at BJJ when we are rolling, used to listen to this all the time North Brisbane Australia. 😊
One of the best debut albums of all time. 😎
You've just discovered one of the best bands ever. Keep digging.
This is the greatest debut album in rock and roll history! Boston was amazing!
EXCEPTIONAL REACTION TO AN EXCEPTIONAL BAND!. I WAS 12 YEARS OLD, IN 1976/7 LISTENING TO AM RADIO, WITH CUT-OFF SHORTS JAMMING TO THIS. THOSE WERE THE DAYS GOOD SIR. THOSE WERE THE DAYS!
Boston kills. Listened to these guys growing up in the 80’s. Great stuff. Happy party dance rock :)
Please react to this whole album. Every song on this album was a number one hit. Best debut album of all time.
This be your new playlist
My fav Boston song is "A Man I'll Never Be". They are iconic.
There isn't a bad song on this album!
There is no bad Boston song.
Facts
When i was a kid had a jukebox with this Boston Artwork. I didn't know the band it was in my room🤣 Wish i still had that old thing. I think my dad got it from a bowling alley that shutdown in the late 90s.
Best debut album and one of the best albums of all time as well
Here we come boo
Evert song brad sings hits
This song will remind us,it's not the destination but the journey we take getting there
One the best classic rock songs in existence.
Thanks for reacting to this. This makes me feel 16 again! Peace my young brother. Hugz from Nana in Texas ❤
That's called classic energy. Like a beautiful woman that walks by like a field of flowers.
LIVE Everytime especially with headphones!!! When we say we had best bands ever!! This!!
I'm 59 years old, but when I hear Boston I'm a teenager again. I can air guitar and air drum the heck out of that whole album.
So many good Boston songs, you really can't go wrong. Just jump into the deep end.
Growing up in the 70's man...every day I wish I could go back there!
The dude singing is Robert Delp. Unfortunately he passed. Boston is a great band to chill and vibe to,lots of good stuff buddy.
Dude, one of the most epic albums of all time IMHO. Banger after banger after banger. Enjoy it, love it and Rock On.
If you look at that album cover, the spaceships are upside-down guitars. The "lead" guitar, in the bubble is a city. It's the Boston skyline.
You are totally correct about the acid part. Boston is a whole ass vibe.
Best selling debut album in 76. Every song is a banger. Completely love this album
Saw this and had to come take a look. Boston is fire
Those aren't flying saucers on the album cover. They're upside down bass guitars with flames coming out of them.
This has to be my favorite reaction of yours ever! Man, this brought me back to when I was young. Good song!! Thanks LayedBak!
