Fortunate Son, one of their best. Goes hand in hand with the Vietnam War, talking about the 'fortunate sons' got out of military service while less fortunate sons were sent over in droves to die. The song is in a ton of movies.

I remember I was about 9 or 10 years old when this used to play on the radio so often. Yes it's too short but most songs were pretty short back then. John Fogerty is the lead singer. There are soo many great CCR songs, like "Bad Moon Rising' , "Up Around the Bend", "Down on the Corner", "Fortunate Son" and and "Proud Mary" - Tina Turner did a famous great cover of Proud Mary.

Three songs define Credence. "Born on The Bayou," "Suzy Q," and "I Put a Spell on You." The last, is a cover of the old "Screamin'" Jay Hawkins hit from way back. So much soul from these boys from Northern California. No, they aren't from the south. They sound like it, but they aren't.
    Thanks guys

Corey have not heard of this song? How about Elvis? He was the King of Rock N Roll...born to a poverty stricken parents and sang at churches. He biggest break came from recording a birthday song for his mother. The studio owner recognized his potential and the rest is history. Also please check out Tom Jones...I know the above 2 legends are way before your time.
How about Bee Gees? Check out Saturday Night Live. Their song Staying Alive is a classic. And U2!! Great Irish band. The lead singer write most of the songs. His name is Bono. His lead guitar player is The Edge. I don't know his real name.

Songs had to be shorter for that 3 minute maximum for the radio. If Songs were longer, the djs had to cut parts like drum solos, etc. Queen fought to break that mold with Bohemian Rhapsody

I think the song was about the band inner struggles and it may of been before they broke up. It was a bad break up too the Fogarty ( John was the singer and Tom was rhythm guitar) brothers didn't talk all the way up to Tom Fogarty passing away in 1990.

Keep on rocking with CCR there is a group from Canada that you are sorely missing out on that group would be Rush best prog rock group ever oh and did I mention best drummer ever known as the professor also check out the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame John Fogerty of CCR is inducted in that year as well as a lot of others Run DMC heart and not to mention again Rush the end Act of the night in addition a guy named Lou Adler produced a movie for Cheech and Chong called Up In Smoke he made it so realistic the feds thought Tommy Chong was a real dope dealer he spent eight months in a federal Pokey until they figured it all out check it out and get Rush on your playlist immediately you will not regret it first song should be the Spirit of Radio as always peace out
