WHAT IS OLD SCHOOL HURRICANE CASSEROLE 🥘??? (HERE IS THE COMPLETE RECIPE AND HISTORY OF IT)

- This is a dish and recipe that I created during hurricane Harvey
i used what i had in my pantry and fridge to create this
I actually fed 20 people in each recipe (3 times in 3 weeks) for my neighbors as we all tried to get through this horrible situation
very simple recipe:
1# mac pasta(cooked)
24 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1# ground beef(80/20)
1 chopped onion
1 diced green bell pepper
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 8oz bag frozen corn
1 8 oz. bag frozen green peas
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
in large pot sauté onions and bell peppers until tender
add garlic and beef
cook beef until browned
add tomatoes ,corn and peas and let simmer for 10 minutes
add cooked pasta and 2 oz. of the cheese
season and completely mix together
pour in greased casserole dish
top with cheddar cheese and cook in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or untill cheese is bubbly hot
enjoy with fresh baked bread and salad

Nothing goes better with a good meal than some good old fashioned conversation. A lot of the younger generations don’t know what they are missing out on not wanting to listen to the good ol’ boys like yourself.

Cheff Jeffery, this would be a great casserole to take to Church. or a big family party, or like you said make a cake to go with it and take it to a sick friend, or someone who is just coming home from the Hospital. You are a great cook.

Yes sir Hurricane Harvey really did devastate our city. My street faired pretty well but some streets suffered as well. Love hearing the wonderful thing you did providing food to those in need.

Yes I saw it on the news and all of Down town Huston was under water. 😬The water was up to the traffic lights and I fell to the floor then got up and ran a got my cell phone to call my nephews. one League TX and the other in Dallas to check on them both. The one in League, his streets were flooded but all of the houses in his neighborhood were ok, thank God and my nephew in Dallas was totally ok. Jesus said "Whatever you do for the least of my people, you do it for me to. So I guess you were lucky enough to serve a meal to Our Lord Jesus Christ as well. Today is Wednesday and I said I would make this hurricane casserole last night, wish I knew how to send u a pic of it but it came out outstanding!!! I couldn't get my jar of garlic open so I had to miss that, didn't have peas but used green beans shopped small, didn't have tomato sauce but used manwich sauce instead and some chopped tomatoes from a can, added chopped carrots and viola got ur slightly different casserole but so rich in flavor and nutrition! Thank you so much for ur recipe, I'll look forward to try many more! 👍😘
