This could not come at a better time I'm in kitchen looking at these exact ingredients thinking what can I make different then the notification . GOOD THING I HAVE notification on ! Update : I made this a hr after she posted and omg it was amazing !!!!!!!!!!!! I added. half of Slice cheese to the white sauce and the other half Slice cheese to potatoes . and shredded cheese between layer potatoes and meat and top of course.... My wife ate this for 3 days For lunch at work . 4th day she went to store bought everything again and BEGGGGGED me to make it again . Must TRY ITS yummmmmy!!!!!! Oh and the Potatoes I put in a bowl Season with salt pepper onion powder garlic powder melted 2 tbs butter with other half of cheese poured that on potatoes then mixed well then put them in all at bottom . I have black decker toaster oven so I had to Cover with Foil no cheese on top yet bake for 1hr 1/2 potatoes took awhile to get soft when they where perfect I took foil off covered with cheese and baked another 30 mins it a was amazing !!!!!!!!! Oh and meat I cut up 1 Whole pickled Jalipeno. , onions , bellpepper saute . But I give this recipe score 10 out 10 !!!!!

I’ve been making this for years, after I had cottage pie for the first time. It’s my favorite meal, being gluten free. I tenderize carrots 🥕 and add mushrooms, lots of onion and garlic, my own seasonings, and my own beef broth. I thicken the broth with cornstarch and I do a stiff mash potato for the top, topped with cheese, and broil until the potato is brown.
I made this last night & it was delicious! I also really enjoyed the process of making it. It was my first time making a bechamel sauce & I had no idea it was that easy! I made the recipe exactly as you did, with the exception of parsley & chives because I was out of those seasonings & I also used a red bell pepper instead of green because that's what I had on hand. Thank you for sharing this, Angelica. This is definitely a keeper in my book ♡
I didn't use this exact recipe but mines was good but not GOOD 😌. Did you leave the hamburger grease or did you drain it? Mines didn't seem as savory because I definitely drained that grease or maybe I used too much hamburger and should've added a bigger can of cream of mushroom 🤭

Maybe it is wishful thinking or I am just ready to be done with the heat but, I have had soups and warm casseroles on the brain. Anything with a nicely browned cheese top catches my eye.
I love how you always remind us that just because it's a recipe it depends on how you cook or how you like to season things... even with the time cooking it all depends on your oven or if it feels right its all up to the person who is cooking it. Looks very good, I will definitely try it. I routinely never peel my potatoes, no matter what variety I use, the skins add flavor, color, fiber, and most importantly, nutrition missing in the pulp.
I found an easy trick to softening the potatoes without boiling them, just nuke them for 5 min. And no messy water. I definitely want to try this recipe. Thanks.
Just made this and it’s delicious I also added mushrooms to the recipe and instead of cheddar cheese I used mozzarella I also used very little butter to be healthier and didn’t use the black sauce and some other seasoning that I did not have Thank you 🙏
This casserole is delicious! I did make the mistake of not parboiling the potatoes long enough and my family loved it anyway but I covered with foil and baked it for an additional 15 minutes. Absolutely amazing.

Hi Mama...just put that in the oven. I had a few tweaks here and there (didn't have dried chives but did have fresh scallions so tossed those in). This smells really great and I can tell it will be delicious. The bechamel made me think of "Greek Lasagna." Best things about your video are 1) your lovely voice; 2) no music 3) not adding in the repetitive "I'm going to GO AHEAD and..." before adding every ingredient! I can't wait for dinner! Thank you!
I made this casserole today and it is DELICIOUS! I used a slightly different seasoning blend. The bechamel is what makes this dish so good. Will definitely make it again! Thank you!!!
I changed this up a bit and made an Italian version by switching out the beef for Italian sausage, adding tomato paste to the meat mixture and using Italian herbs and spices. Then I turned the bechamel into a mornay by adding Parmesan and Fontina cheeses to it. I used mozzarella in place of the Cheddar as well. It's in the oven now! Thanks for the idea. Looks like a great recipe!
I made this tonight but kinda made it low carb lol I used the 2 potatoes and for the white sauce I used heavy whipping cream with like an 1 oz of cream cheese. And for the meat I only put 2tbs of flour and it still came out delicious 😋

I put a little extra beef bouillon in beef mixture and a dash of Worcester sauce one time and a dark mushroom soy sauce another. Delicious! Give it a try! Yum

This is so dang good! Tooo good I wanted to lap the whole casserole up!!! The spices are spot on throughout the dish. I didn't have beef broth this time so substituted with Knorrs Beef Bouillon 2 tsp for 2 cups of water and added a capful of Kitchen Bouquet. It turned out fine! Video was to the point thanks for making it easy for us with all the videos and time you take to present these wonderful recipes. None have ever failed you can count on them being GOOD!
I diced some Potatoes and onion. Dicedup a thinTbone steak. Put a little Canola oil in skillet. Cooked steak first. Added potatoes. And onions. Cooked for awhile. Come out pretty good. I'm learning as I go.

I will try and make this. I have a Ninja food processor and will slice the potatoes 🥔 really easy. When you made the white sauce I would have added some corn starch to the milk to thicken it. and one cup of beef broth. but I will use Bisquick for the topping when I make mine. I don't have peppers so I will use celery and onions and Lawry's. seasoning. and the rest of the ingredients. Looks good.

I use chicken broth/powder in my potatoes also. I save the broth, freeze it, use for soups in the winter. Just some extra flavor I think
