If people do not like to hear you talk, then they need not listen. I love the stories because it reminds me of the good old days growing up in Alabama with my old school grandmother that cooked everyday three square meals with no exception in addition to cleaning white folks houses for crumbs.

Amen Grandma, she told the truth, we all love our Grandma’s they tell you like it is. We don’t know until it hits us Grandma was right. If we all had Grandma’s these days that could get out in community and tell folks just how it is. Love your stories. I got lots of stories as well. Never Stop telling stories we love them. I think Grandma was sitting in your kitchen listening to your stories, because my Grandma always told me her folks and preachers back then said that when your remembering and telling stories those Angels come down and are very proud of you. ♥️♥️🙏🏼

Yes sir! That's some good looking smothered chicken! And you keep on telling your stories. Your story about your grandmother telling you to watch your company sure hit home with me too... found a few tears to my eyes. I'm a little older than you I was in college in the mid 70s. I also have one of those roasters just like yours and the Pyrex cooking dishes. I don't have the whole set bit the couple I do have I do use frequently. My mother taught me to cook as my grandmother was a little old by the time I came along. Well in college I used to call her and ask her how do you cook spaghetti sauce, chili, goulash, pinto beans. Fried chicken, peanut butter fudge, strawberry pie. All the things I had at home growing up I wanted to have when I was in college. Have to say I became a pretty good cook and my roommates certainly enjoyed my experimentation. Yes sir you keep telling your stories. I'm sure there's a bunch of us that love to hear your stories and only one or two that don't and they don't have to listen.

First off, love your channel! I, too, have been cooking for over fifty years! I remember when it was frowned upon for a boy to be in the kitchen. I do disagree, however, that a myriad of spices will destroy the flavor of a dish. I do a lot of Jamaican jerk, Cajun and Asian dishes...just to name a few! Depending on the dish, upwards of ten or more herbs/spices are used! In most Indian dishes, more than ten spices are used. There's nothing wrong with using lots of spices....IF one knows what they're doing! Be well!

You spoke so much about Cavenders seasoning, I bought some. I am planning on using it with my chicken also. I know it smells good in your kitchen 😋 😌

Hi Chef Jeff!!!I love the recipe, smothered chicken!!!that remind me of my mom smothering chicken, she did just like you. She also cooked smothered liver and onions. When my Aunt came to visit and we had left over chicken from takeout, they would smother it the next day for breakfast as well. You know how to cook using the "Dirty Flour", it have seasoning in too!. The candied carrots, oh man, bring back memories. Thanks too for the wisdom as well and keep telling your stories😀. And yes those are Pyrex, clear pots/dishes.
