Just great to see someone like Cleo that has the production value and also understands the fandom, from the inside. So often sports are seen as something anyone can write about or present and it just ends up with a tepid, half-arsed 11min video that is worse than most AI these days. Everyone I know that's into the sport would be just as giggly and 'can I touch it?' as Cleo in that instance and it's bloody great to see.

Here's another thing we've got in common, Highly! I've been an F1 fan since the 1960's and in fact, in 1976 bought an F3 which had been crashed and spent a year rebuilding it and got to actually test it half a dozen times, what a BLAST! but then ran out of money and age!!
This is a really great video which shows all the necessary stuff to help fans know what F1 is all about!

9:22 DRS is the passage of airflow through the wings in the back, u were probably thinking ERS, that is what’s involved with engines, since the car not only has engines but also batteries, the ERS is the power generated with braking the car, or so I think, anyone please reply to correct me if I’m wrong.

She just scratched the surface of the whole F1 thing.
F.e.: The anti-dive system ( while braking the nose of the car wants to move downwards to the tarmac) on the RB is an old technique used on mopeds (like the Vespa Piaggio Ciao front fork system kind of f.e. ) but extremely updated/ upgraded system to keep the car level (as possible) under braking. And the anti-dive system on the rear axle prevents it to go down when power is applied to the axles/wheels etc. to keep the car leveled (as possible) under acceleration. This is because the whole under-car aero system ( ground-effect ) works best at a certain level from the tarmac, to keep the bottom of the car from losing the optimal level to create suction ( stalling the airflow is bad!!) this needs to be at an optimum level (hight) from the track. Bottoming out ( porpoising, bouncing ) can cause unsettling effects thus losing grip and you don't want that, especially in/ and while under braking, accelerating and through corners, you want to maximize the grip levels everywhere possible logically.
And she skipped so much more, but hey I'm a Formula1 enthusiast for just 48 years now so what do I know right ?! LOL She really gave a good insight to those who hardly know F1 and mate if you want to learn more about F1 there is plenty to be found about it on the internet.
But to understand more about the craft of Racing, go try karting out (rental tracks are plentiful and affordable, and it is the cradle of car racing i.g.), or go drive a computer race simulator (f.e. Iracing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista2, Rfactor2 a.m.m.) with a good set of direct drive force feedback wheels and pedals.
Anywho have fun finding out more about the pinnacle of motorsports :)

Oh btw to understand the whole managing side of F1 better, the game F1 Manager by Codemasters/ EA is a great way to understand more about the tactical/ strategic side of F1. It''s worth a look and there are many review/ gameplay videos on the game, you don't have to buy it to get an idea of how that side of F1 works.

I don't entirely agree with you. With the type of driver Max Verstappen is, he has made Formula 1 interesting. He shows that there are different ways to approach racing than we're used to. I like a rebel or daredevil in racing, because they don't accept that there seems to be only the 'regular way', and they prove it to viewers. Max is like that, and it is also why I liked drivers like Alain Prost in the past (in fact, I was a Prost fan instead of Ayrton Senna for that reason; Senna was also special, though). However, Formula 1 is more a kind of sport for the brands and constructors than it is for drivers. Go deeper into Formula 1 and you'll know that the cars are everything but equal to each other.
I watched much of Formula 1 in the past, because of the fierce battles on the track between people like Prost and Senna. Verstappen brought a little bit of that experience back when he became the world champion for the first time in the year he had to do battle with Lewis Hamilton. But I don't watch Formula 1 as often anymore. The sometimes big differences between cars doesn't make the competition feel fair to me. Most of the position changes and strategic action happen in the pits instead of on the track. There are circuits with almost no good oppertunities to take over positions. And the engines don't have that iconic high pitched sound anymore. I'm Dutch, but I actually like races on big ovals more than those on road courses or other normal circuits. There is much more action on big ovals like Daytona and Talladega for NASCAR and Indianapolis and Texas for the Indycar Series. More takeovers, more battles, more tactical and positional driving; there is more happening on a big oval, on which I prefer to see some racing, especially from the Indycar Series. However, unfortunately, they intergrated more racinng on circuits in the Indycar Series, while I think those vehicles belong on the ovals. NASCAR races are on ovals much more, but its downside is that they also have some races on short tracks, or in other words, small ovals with a maximum length of less than a mile. I prefer circuits over short track ovals, but big ovals over circuits. Oval racing may look boring because of the direction of the turns, but it is more exciting to watch at times.
I'm not an expert on this, but I understand that the Indycars and NASCAR-cars are far more equal to each other, and racing itself is much more a sport of the drivers, which I think should be the case in any racing class in the first place. The Indycar Series has (had) so many great drivers, and more daredevils and rebels than Formula 1 has. And it produces more racing winners. I love it! And as a bonus, there is a Dutch driver in the Indycar Series as well: Rinus van Kalmthout (Rinus VeeKay, as the Americans call him). He doesn't do as well as Max Verstappen, but he's doing better than I expected. He has even won one race.
I prefer Indycar over Formula 1, as a Dutch guy., I'd rather watch the Indianapolis 500 or the Texas race in the Indycar series, and the Daytona 500 or Coca Cola 600 on the Charlotte track in NASCAR, than watching the F1 races in Spa, Zandvoort, Monza or Monaco.

there are so so much more to f1's aerodynamics than just plain downforce. a lot of the aero bits are made to:
    1. specifically channel air into other aero bits to make other aero bits way more effective
    2. channel air away from draggy bits (like tyres) to reduce overall drag
    3. control how much air goes into the cooling system at what speed to minimise drag while making sure enough air goes into the system to prevent overheating
    4. creating a very turbulant wake behind the car so that your opponent following you would have a hard time getting "clean" or laminar air flowing through their car. you basically decrease their car's aero effectiveness
having work experience at boeing or airbus won't adaquately prepare you for a role as a f1 aerodynamicist.

red bull doesn't have their own engine...anyways driving skills still matter. Like Fernandoooo has been always 2,3,4 and his teammate Lance Stroll. Billionare who sponsors the team a shit load of money. Otherwise same car and Fernando get's 2-3 with qualifying and billionaire boy get's 10-15. Who doesn't belong in F1? There isn't such gap between same car except that team. It must be embarassing for him. Well daddy pays. That Chinese dude is the same...he brings money to the team but Bottas with mullet and just joking around and have good time; is faster.
