    Quality content as always man 👍
    They had a similar blower system setup on the motion sim I tried out here. It really helped with the immersion (and the heat) but at high speed I couldn't get over how similar it sounded to my old car; a knackered MK3 golf that someone had nicked the door seals out of...
    I've a few arduinos lying around so will certainly try the DIY version of this

      Hahaha enjoy. I prefer to just buy ready made solutions usually :) depends on where your enjoyment lies. There are people who prefer building stuff to using stuff too. I just wanna sit in and drive :)

      @@LaurenceDusoswa Oh I'm definitely with you on that front. I've been guilty, on numerous occasions, of spending thousands in man hours for something I could easily have bought for a few hundred instead.

    Got my rig working Laurence!! Wow, the m10 and inverted pedals are amazing right out of the box. What a massive difference in the immersion compared to a controller. Highly recommend these two, for sure. Tried on WRC8 and Dirt2.0 last night and will be checking out ACC, AB2 and RaceRoom next. Any other recommendations? Not a fan of iracing though. You're doing such a great job with these reviews, I'm up to spending more money after this one as well. Going to check the SRS site for sure. Appreciate all the help, take care!

      Hahaha yeah sorry about that :) sim racing is a nice addiction and cheaper than a real car but by no means cheap :) glad you’re enjoying the content! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!
      Also, I recommend Assetto Corsa. And if you can pick it up cheap, I like PC2. It looks stunning, has a decent range of cars and it’s a lot of fun

    VR motion sickness, I’ve finally built a tolerance for it and can play for hours now, but would this help with VR motion? I’ve been looking at getting the diy build kit but they’re capped at 40mph wind. What’s the cap on these fans?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 роки тому +1

      They're definitely capped at something but with the software you can set it up so they don't reach 100% until you're doing 250kph which is what i did. And i set it up to not be linear, so up to about 100kph you don't get much wind.

    • @fleamcbaggins3087

      I've been playing on PSVR fer minute now and my research and personal experiences say yes, fans do help. Its another way to keep u grounded in reality. Kinda like an HUD.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 роки тому

      yeah like i say, if you do a long stint and come out of your rig and feel that your arms are cool and you get that 'light' feeling that you get when karting. It's a rush :)

  • @danskinner73
    @danskinner73 3 роки тому +1

    Do 2 fans make much more of a difference to just a single one? I run in VR nearly all the time so looking at this as an alternative cooling option to a standalone fan. I only have a single ultrawide monitor mounted on my Sim-Lab rig, so was thinking of mounting this on top of the profile that holds the monitor, so it sits above and just behind my monitor, blowing slightly down, rather than either side of my wheelbase blowing up. Do you think it would it be just as effective?

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 роки тому

      I think it would still work great. The thing I like about 2 is the amount of wind you get with relatively low noise. These systems get loud when they really start to blow.

  • @EpicFatLip

    I think I'm gonna need this once I get really settled in. Because the new appartment is a lot warmer than the previous one...
    But first, I have to focus on getting quicker and more consistent...
    And I need a fully equipped rig 😂

    • @LaurenceDusoswa

  • @reptilexcq2

    How do you attach it to your rig....the GoPro has a sticker but I don't think it will stick well when the rig is shaking constantly. They're going to drop over time.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  3 роки тому

      I don’t have a motion rig so the 3M sticky pads are perfect. If you’re using profile, there are plenty of GoPro mounting options. Either way, you’re gonna need to bolt it in place.

    I just want a fan system that comes with a toggle switch that has multiple speeds and looks like it belongs in a race car that mounts to my chassis....Aesthetics are important.
    I’m already running up to 8 pieces of software when racing. I don’t care about wind simulation. I put it in the same class as wearing seatbelts in a racing sim...just not for me. Having a large fan next to my simulator just doesn’t work well. It’s a pain in the butt.

    • @LaurenceDusoswa
      @LaurenceDusoswa  4 роки тому

      Seat belt tensioner are amazing under braking ;) you can bind keys (or steering wheel buttons) for changing the intensity of the fans but yeah there’s more software. What 8 pieces of software do you run?

  • @hanswurst3811

    tota nonsense with the big controller box and the boxes under the fans with power and LAN like port ..... simply a arduino with standard PWM fan ports does the job, no blocky boxes at the fans and just 1 ! wire to the fans !
