  • • Peugeot 206 suspension rebuild. I rebuilt the whole front suspension on my 2005 1.4 Hdi Peugeot 206 on the side of the road. I replaced every component on the front suspension;
2 new wishbones / Lower Control Arms
    2 new shock absorbers
    2 new coil springs
    1 New Track Rod End
    All new Nuts and Bolts
    2 New Dust Cover Kits
    Hammerite anti rust paint
    2 New Top Mounts
2 New Anti Roll Bar Linkages
2 New OEM Lower Pinch Bolts
1 New OEM Upper Pinch Bolt
1 New Ball joint Dust Cover
The Entire front suspension on my Peugeot 206 was Replaced, and this whole process was a great learning curve for a driveway mechanic like myself.

1 Month before the whole process, I installed a new clutch kit into my car on the side of the road, which was a difficult job and I never want to do it myself again. Furthermore, after the full suspension rebuild, I took the car to the MOT (And it passed), followed by a laser alignment that took place the next day to ensure the car drives straight.

All new parts featured and unfeatured in this video are listed in the description. I purchased them all from 'Car Parts 4 Less' as well as the 'Peugeot Garage'

Nice one Oli. Always satisfying to do the work yourself on a car. Saves a lot of money too!

Might be a bit late now but need to get some paint on the suspension turret top plates as that rust will end up being a MOT fail

I have a question did you tighten everything to certain torgue wrench settings? I’m about to do the job myself but I can’t find what bolts have to be tightened to certain NMs any help would be appreciated

Would love to see some pictures of it, please send them across to me on my instagram! If you're in england, please remember the pot holes, hence why I really want to only raise the height of cars.

You might find you need to change strut bearings if you start hearing a knocking that's what it is.

Thanks for this, I believe I put new bearings on the car as they came with the top mount.

Couldn't stop facepalming, especially with the bolts.
First there's no need to cut any bolts and secondly if you do anyway, get new ones from the dealership. You can't just buy some in a hardware store and hope that they have the correct strength ...

I used the correct strength ones. I didn't just use a y bolts. The mechanic who did my mot also praised my work.

@@OliverKuiz Yes Oliver, but I think Awax means that, as critical suspension bolts, they MUST be at least high tensile 10.9. Preferably they should have had an unthreaded shank which fits inside the joint with the thread beyond that. Yours look like plain old 8.8 bolts, (shown on the head), and that isn't right in that position. If they are wrong then get the correct bolts from a main dealer, despite what we think of main dealer spares prices fixings are never overly expensive, that way you can be sure and be safe.
Peugeot Service Box shows the bolt to be part number 6925 L6 "Screw With Base" 14X150-79 (external Torx head), the washer 5037 37 "Plain Washer" 14,5X27 EP 2.5, "Hexagonal Nut" 5132 A8. I know the MOT guy praised your work but that doesn't necessarily include a full check on the parts you used once they are more or less out of sight. It really pays in terms of safety and even sometimes makes a job easier.
