Stunning video. I was on the Armadale to Mallaig ferry as you filmed day one and I could hardly take my eyes off Knoydart. Working its way to the top of my bucket list once I have ticked off Beinn Sgritheall.

It was a superb day to be up at Mallaig. Beinn Sgritheall is one of my favourite mountains. I think the view is one of the finest in Scotland, definitely best waiting for a clear day to climb it. 👍

Thanks Kev. We were lucky with perfect conditions at summit. Very little wind, almost calm at times and not cold. The summit ridge is quite narrow for camping, so not a place to camp if was windy, worth keeping for a spell of settled weather with high pressure. Views up there are hard to beat. All the best, Derek

Amazing scenery, what a summit camp that must have been. I had a similar good weather day in May 2019 resulting in Ladhar Bheinn becoming my favourite Munro! Ha, ha I’m you’re number 💯 subscriber. Well done on a great video. 👍

Hello Linda, Many thanks for becoming my 100th subscriber! I think Ladhar Bheinn is one of my favourites too. I'd conpleated the Munros back in '05 on a sunny June weekend. This was my 1st time back there and we were so lucky with the calm weather conditions. All the best, Derek

Great film. I completed a 2 day backpacking hike in Knoydart from Kinlochhourn in Late September 2023. I summited Ladhar Bheinn on the first day and was absolutely battered by fierce winds coming in off the Atlantic. I took a selfie at the trig and had to hold the mobile with both hands for fear of it being torn from my grasp. Not a day for camping near the summit like in your film. If I had taken my tent out, it would have ended up being ripped from my grasp and taken out into the Atlantic. I quickly descended South into Coire Na Laogh. I camped the night in a very sheltered and beautiful spot near the foot of Meall Buidhe which I was to climb the following morning. I then went on to do Luinne Bheinne before descending into Barrisdale. Due to rain of biblical proportions the streams crossing the track back to Kinlochhourn had swollen into raging torrents which made the last part quite interesting. The Scottish weather can make for incredible contrasts in climbing mountains. All enjoyable and all challenging!!

Thanks for watching. Your trip certainly sounds exciting. Glad you found a sheltered spot for your camp. When I compleated the Munros back in 2005 I'd camped at Mam Barrisdale and then climbed Ladhar Bheinn to finish my 1st round . It's a fantastic place to visit when the weather allows.

It was a stunning morning. I was at the far end of the ridge as you guys left. I was camped at Mam Barrisdale bealach. Really enjoyed watching your video.

We camped at the bealach back in 2005 last time climbed Ladhar Bheinn. Its an excellent approach to the summit. We'd decided on the Folach route this time to avoid scrambling on the difficult part of the ridge with the heavier rucsacs. We were all lucky with the stunning vjews up there. Derek 👍

Thanks Andy for your message. Yes, it was the same weekend. We camped out on Friday 27th, so sunrise was 28th August. It was a stunning couple of days. You appreciate days like that even more after the recent monsoon conditions. All the best, Derek
