Meall nan Tarmachan (1044m) summit wild camp with sunset & sunrise 1.6.24
A last minute decision to head out for a summit wild camp on Meall nan Tarmachan 1044m next to Ben Lawers on the 1st June. The weather forecast looked good for the evening, but was set to change early the following morning. Would it be possible to catch both the sunset and sunrise?

A return to Stob Ghabhar in the Black Mount range for an overnight summit camp. Hoping to catch a sunset and sunrise from this high peak at 1089m. The hike started from Victoria Bridge next to Loch Tulla.

A spring ascent of Ben Narnain (926m) in the Arrochar Alps on 28th April 2024. Overnight there had been a light dusting of fresh snow on the tops.

An early September hike returning to complete the Creag Meagaidh group of three Munros next to Loch Laggan. This was the first time I had returned to these hills since my first visit in the spring 27 years ago.

Return to Austria's Ötztal Alps, Italian Dolomites & Lake Garda

In summer 2023 I revisited the stunning Ötztal in the Austrian Tirol when spent a week in Obergurgl which is Austria's highest village. During the week I made use of the Ötztal visitor card which gave access to all the chairlifts, cable cars and local attractions. Then travelled south over the Alps via the Timmelsjoch pass onto Italy to visit Nago Torbole next to the northern shores of Lake Gar...
High in the Cairngorms. Hike to Loch A'an, Loch Etchachan, Carn Etchachan, wild camp & sunrise

A hike to Feith Buidhe high in the Scottish Cairngorms for a late spring wild camp on 29th May 2023. Then after setting up camp an afternoon hike down to Loch A'an, then up to Loch Etchachan with ascent of Carn Etchachan to return to the tent. Early the following morning there was a beautiful sunrise viewed from the top of the Feith Buidhe waterfall towards Loch A'an.

A beautiful spring day for another visit to climb Buachaille Etive Beag (958m) in Glencoe with 360 degree clear views from Ben Nevis to Ben Alder to Glen Etive, Mull and beyond Glencoe to the Cuillins in the far NW.
