Hi! Thank you for your comment! Even though Sunbreak is releasing later this year, making more MHGU content is still high priority as it's such an awesome game 💯
Thank you for your comment! You're right, sharpening goes for Duel Blades while it's more unaffected sharpness for the Longsword. Will correct that in the description!
Thanks for the video, I think your tutorial is much easier to follow ^.^ really need to know the monsters’ attack pattern to pull off the guard point, but the sheathe-attack is already a game changer. Thanks for sharing!
Glad to hear it has helped you! Yes indeed, knowing the monster patterns is key, but knowing when you can execute it is even more important to get that i-frame going. Good luck! 💯
Thank you! It was a blast making this video! Give Valor mode a try and see if you can get the long sword Guard Point move the next time you boot up GU! It's so much more fun than classic old school LS 😃
Hey! Thanks for the tutorial! Please keep making more. There are good tutorials from channels like Arrekz Gaming and of course the legend Gaining Hunter. But there is a surprising lack of specialized or "Advanced Tips" tutorials, like this one! I would love to see more videos like this that go over specific techniques!
Note that valor dual blade also has a sick guardpoint ! The conditions to use it are the same (valor mode active, press R) and the timing is also roughly the same !
It’s silly how busted valor LS. Blue spirit gauge that lasts almost as long as white spirit but has slightly more damage than yellow. A more damaging combo and spirit combo. And a god parry lol cool to see guides about it even to This day :)
only thing i would add to this video is that the best monster to practice on is glavenus bc he swing his tail alot then from there you can move to other monsters
the best and most effective guard point training monster for me (from my 4U CB days) were tigrex and diablos. they like to charge and have different moves with different and sometimes outright weird timings so absolutely perfect because of the diversity but i see the appeal of glavenus.
Thank you for your question. Generally for such attacks I might choose to roll out of the way instead of guard point as the execution and recovery between 2 guard point counters do take a little bit of time in between. Same for some of the one shot attacks such as Boltreaver Astalos' laser beam of death. Hope this helps answer your concerns!
That is a good question. Usually with combos, there is a risk of the animation still going and being locked into it, making your character unable to avoid or counter an attack. Therefore, ideally you'll want to hit the R button just as the monster is about to land the hit on you so you'll be able to counter on point, provided all the conditions for being able to use it are met. Hope this answers your question!

Cool video , I honestly hope for more MHGU videos , I didn’t know that the GP counters sharpens your weapon a bit

Finally found a video that answer all my questions about the LS' Valor counters
Thank you for your comment and hope your valor hunts are more enjoyable now! 😊
@@TaintedMantis Y're welcome, now i just need to git gud with it
Thanks so much for this tutorial! Definately gonna practice this now
Glad you found it helpful! Happy LS hunting! 👍
Nice video i like your explanation. The guard point that sharpens is the dual blade one , not long sword.

@@TaintedMantis ❤
thank you for the manual subtitles!
Thank you for your kind comment! Glad it helped! 😄
Just got back into mhgu and loving it. Excellent guide, Thank you! =]
Welcome back and may MHGU bring you the same level of euphoric joy it did for many of us! Happy hunting! 😊👍

Thanks again and look forward to more videos from you!! ;)
Just started a new game in MHGU. Thanks for the info!
You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the game!
Thanks for making that video because I don’t know how to handle an old generation long sword.
Thank you! It was a blast making this video! Give Valor mode a try and see if you can get the long sword Guard Point move the next time you boot up GU! It's so much more fun than classic old school LS 😃

Thank you for your kind comment! Will most certainly aim to cover more subtle details like this in future videos! ❤️
@@TaintedMantis thank you! It seriously helped my LS game a ton!
Good dedication for the video
Thank you for your kind comment! 😊
this'll come in handy when i finally decide to play valor LS. great guide!
Thank you for watching! Do let me know if it came in handy when you start on your valor LS journey! 👍
@@TaintedMantis will do. I'll probably do that once I'm done with final boss. Just got into g3 so almost there😬
@@SparkerEXE Nearly there! Go smash them! 💯
Note that valor dual blade also has a sick guardpoint ! The conditions to use it are the same (valor mode active, press R) and the timing is also roughly the same !
Yes it does! Not as many people play DB (despite it being my main in GU), but I should probably do a similar tutorial at some point. 🤣😅
Valor parry may require filling 2 bars, but is so much more satisfying than the foresight slash from world ♥
It's awesome indeed. GU's combat mechanics really are in their own class. ❤️
It’s silly how busted valor LS. Blue spirit gauge that lasts almost as long as white spirit but has slightly more damage than yellow. A more damaging combo and spirit combo. And a god parry lol cool to see guides about it even to This day :)
GU is still a great game in many ways - many of us still go back to play when we need a break from Rise/Sunbreak. 😄
I found this very helpful, thanks now
I know Wat Valor can do
Glad to hear it has helped! Now go enjoy that valor mode! 👍
This longsword from mizutsune part?, Because i want to use it, look good if do guard point so satisfying👍
Yes, the one with a few Sakura flower patterns is the Mizutsune sword! Absolutely worth creating for monsters weak to water. 👍
Do you think you could do one about the energy blade on charge blade? I always find it difficult to aim it
Unfortunately I find Charged Blade difficult to use and haven't played with it much so I'm unable to make a tutorial on it. Sorry about that! 😅
only thing i would add to this video is that the best monster to practice on is glavenus bc he swing his tail alot then from there you can move to other monsters
Thanks for the tip! Though for players just starting out, Glavenus might be a little on the intense side to practice on. 😅

How to quickly reuse guard point like narga have 2x tail Slam or xenoger 3x Thunder claps how to quick recovery guard point after use 1 time

What an amazing video, however it isnt quite clear who made it, maybe try showing your name on the video a bit more?
Thank you for your compliment! Will also consider your suggestion for future videos! 👍
Can the guard point happen mid combo or does it need to be the first R animation?
That is a good question. Usually with combos, there is a risk of the animation still going and being locked into it, making your character unable to avoid or counter an attack. Therefore, ideally you'll want to hit the R button just as the monster is about to land the hit on you so you'll be able to counter on point, provided all the conditions for being able to use it are met.

@@TaintedMantis thx for the help
it sharpens your weapon?
I do apologize, that was a mistake on my part as guard point only sharpens Dual Blades and not Long Sword.
