Indian car market lacs diversity. Below 15lakhs one can only buy a commuter now. Is it the people , companies or the government that's killing the fun to own a car at reasonable cost.
*Nope! There are many fun to drive cars from Ford, Honda, etc.* *It's mainly the fact the Indians buy car which offer more value for money offerings specially under 7 lacks! So there is no govt. Intervention. GET YOUR FACTS CHECKED!*
This is my favorite topic. My top three are Fords, Fiats and 90s Marutis. Particularly, Fiesta, Figo, Punto, Linea, Palio, Zen, Esteem, Baleno, 800 and Alto LX (not LXi). Tremendous fun to drive.
Well I still think the earlier 2010 Honda Civics are still lot of fun and customisable than other cars.. The 1.8L Vtech is such a capable and free revving engine and thankfully its mated to a 5-Manual rather than a sloppy CVT. It might be a tab costlier but it’s still worth every penny. It’s one of my favourites in my personal bucket list
2 years back I bought a 2011 Renault Fluence (pre-facelift) petrol automatic version with 137 bhp. It was a significant upgrade for us from the Indigo Manza, and it helped me touch 192 kph on the highway from Chennai to Trivandrum even in the automatic mode! The Honda Accord V6 was my dream choice, but I couldn't find one then. Sure, driving that would have been out of this world and, aesthetically, those triangle lights are unparalleled. But the curvy lines of the Fluence are satisfying me pretty well, and in black it looks straight out of a Hollywood spy movie!
Yeah.. In my college saw mny of those.. However always liked the older version of Skoda.. Really gonna buy 1day.. My town made car.. Jn Aurangabad.. So personal in heart!
I recently bought the Fiesta 1.6S in Feb and it has been a dream to drive. The pleasure of driving it just cannot be explained by words and has to be experienced. It's all the car you need, whether city, highway or the hills :)
Fact is this that after the END of the lock down, each & every car would have some or the other repairs. Those repairs could be minor or even major. BREAKDOWNS !
I've seen the same blue Accord V6 featured in the video on Marine Drive a couple of times. What made my head turn was the custom blue paintjob and 17" alloys taken off of an Innova Crysta.
I got a lovely 09 Civic 1.8 VMT this lockdown 👍.. best decision ever. She is a beauty, so comfortable and the best engine and handling you can have at this price point. And honestly it's quite cheap to maintain. Thought if you break anything, the OEM parts come expensive. U can find quite a big accessories & costomization market in India.

Such practical resource is what I have been looking for. Now, with the pandemic and WFH professional environment come with plenty of time that could be used in restoring and moding car of my choice.
Shiv Vashishtha Bhargava baleno rs is discontinued and gt tsi have discontinued the dsg transmission now it gets torque converter so new i20 dct makes sense
Lovely video i must say but problem with these cars is you have to be very cautious while buying them if not done correctly can be a headache... used cars need to be checked throughly and should be certified
So true bhai. Very rare to find one, atleast in Hyderabad. I hv a friend who owns 2, both r in truly immaculate condition. 1st is complete stock n d 2nd is completely modified. Both r VTecz.
Nice work. One problem I see is that most of the models you are referring may require either FC to be done or these are the cars already running on FC and availability of spares for these models might be scarce as well require time. After their purchase, If in case any of these cars need to be sold then there won’t be any demand in the market given the surge in BS6 line up of cars and contemporary standards of loaded features. Having said this, the cars listed by you are fun to drive but owning these cars may be tricky.
Is it possible to buy cars older than 15 years in Delhi NCR considering the scrap policy, If yes would love to know how. Been looking to get a first get Honda City, still one of the most fun cars I've driven.
iam proud to hear that gypsy are best for defense forces and I drove it in my past days. swifts design are attractive from now to old. and now we come to sedans Ford festa and city looks similarly in look but skoda car looks angry. because of its grill shows a bold look now fiat cars look premium and luxury in these segments.
The 1.3 petrol of old swift is a complete monstar it can pass 100 in 2nd gear even way better than todays new petrol engines in the segments it canreach 0 t0 100 in 9.35 sec etc And the old gen Alt k10 K10B engine is just fab itrevers all the way up to red line easly and even funny part is that because the better power to weight ratio and peppy k seres engine , it can reach 0 to 100 in 11.8 sec even same as new gen swift petrol or even better
I'm really surprised that the Honda civic did not make this list. Enthusiast and civic go hand in hand.
that's bcoz the 1st gen city was based on a civic
Still the civic is great
Can't believe this is Autocar India, i thought you guys only do reviews and stuff. Good to see you guys expanding the content.

You can buy cars from anywhere...
My uncle has a 2006 1.3 petrol which has now run 3,30,000 kms and still runs like a dream.

Check the bottom sides of both front doors...chances are it's completely rotted from rust.

Hi.. what about a Mitsubishi cedia sports edition? It was sold in india till 2013 I think
@ШИРИШ I don't think you're aware of the indian market. Theres no evo here. Imported evos are very rare and are extremely extremely expensive.
Cedia is an amazing choice
What's the price of cedia back then?
