The roller-coaster of emotions that is the story. Absolutely screws with your feelings. Amid so many horrible things happening, we witness the rather innocent birth of Priphea flowers, which as far as I'm concerned is Lufia's symbol for mixed emotions. Equal parts majesty and horror. Yeeep, this is a Lufia game alright.

I’ve been a huge SNES RPG fan for about the past eleven years, and I’m shocked I haven’t heard of this one, because I’ve known quite a number of Japanese exclusives from that time. Really goes to show how incredible that era was for the genre.
Fun fact Energy Breaker's art was done by mangaka Yasuhiro Nightow the creator of Trigun, Blood Blockade Battlefront and the 3rd person shooter series Gungrave.
I started this one a little while ago. The inventory management is the first thing that comes to mind. Limted spots for items, and you find items all over the place. Didn't even make it to a battle. I'll revisit it for another try sometime.
I've heard of this game before but your in depth peek at it makes me want to play it. I love tactics style games. Dude your channel is definitely unique, I appreciate it.
The graphics look amazing! I have been slowly but surely playing all the SNES JRPGs that never came to the U.S. I can't wait to play this one! Thank you for the video
I'm surprised that I've never heard of this one before! I love the Lufia-inspired art and how it also resembles Vandal Hearts in a way. The strategy aspect is always great. I love me some tactics games.
I really like this game. It was the first strategy rpg I enjoyed that was not fire emblem, I tried playing more famous ones such as final fantasy tactics but it didn't click. I think that this game is a great first srpg with exploration like Shining force. It feels like a traditional jrpg with a strategic spin. While playing, I checked nearly all the windows or barrels and the fact that you can interract with so much things is great.
Wow, a great looking game I've really never heard of before, what a pleasant surprise! The maps look beautiful, and the character customization is intriguing.
Another hidden gem! I would like to watch your opinion about Feda: Emblem of Justice, an obscure tatical rpg for snes. Looking forward for more content.
I just played through Terranigma and I'm too stupid to understand wtf I just watched lol. I looked up a "plot explained" video for it and there is none. You're the first person I thought of when it comes to story explanation. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to make videos like that but man, I could really use one for Terranigma right now lol. Great video btw, I've been quietly enjoying all your content for awhile.
I love your channel and these "underappreciated" videos! Keep em coming! Your voice is soothing and your passion for classic games really shows in your videos. Great stuff!
Great content, never heard about this game, graphics look amazing for the snes, could pass as a PSX game. And my first time watching the channel, the overview of the game was great, lots of details and impressions but short lenght, subscribed
I'd never heard of this one before! Sounds like an interesting game though. There seem to be quite a few of these end-of-generation SNES gems that were just never localized and completely flew under the radar for a long time. Fire Emblem Thracia 776 is another one that jumps to mind, and of course Tactics Ogre LUCT.
Before watching the video i said to myself it can't be that good. But it is visually a very impressive game, i always liked isometric games and the gameplay seems interesting. I will definitely give it a try
The music was my buying point! I bough it from Fishy Games, in 2014 and dispise how many times I try to like it! I hate the long battles and the whole battle system as well not be able to walk in worldmap :(
This one definitely looks interesting. I'm not a big RPG fan but I just started playing Lufia 2 because of its fantastic soundtrack. Are you going to review the Lufia games sometime?
Under appreciated in Japan. It doesn't count as under appreciated to the rest of the world if it never released in the rest of the world. A game can be awesome but overlooked in Japan even just because there's over a hundred JRPGs on the same system alone.
Can't help but wonder what would have happened if tales of phantasia, seiken densetsu 3 and games like these got released in America. I don't think final fantasy 7 would have been as famous as it had gotten. The tastes of American audiences would have been very different because of the rich diversity of jrpgs back then.
My eyes are just struggling to read this one as a Super Famicom game for some reason. It's kind of impressive really. Reminds me of a GBA game. Like it's definitely SNES level technologically but with that extra decade with which to muck around with format and animation style, if you follow what I'm saying. The way GBA games could likely all run on a SNES but still looked more modern. Which for an actual SFC game speaks volumes to the developers.
Played this game before was drawn in by the art style. Very Mario RPG or Tactics Ogre vibes. It's a shame it feels a little unfinished in places script wise and mechically, such as the mood text boxes.

Must be blind but having trouble finding translation patch on my phone
The art style, the battle system, and the music are all top notch. 👌😌 Looks like an RPG that's right up my alley.
I remember playing this game I never finished

Wow! I didn't think there were any more SNES RPGs that I hadn't heard of. This is a really, really obscure one! Great video, mate.
More to come!
I felt the same way! Will have to check it out! Thanks for including the patch!
Well I know a Yasuhiro Nightow piece when I see it in a thumbnail.

Almost no one, man, almost no one!
You just lit a fire under me. I am going to play this like there is no tomorroe and i thank you for it.
Love your content Xygor keep up the good work on behalf of all us retro rpg/game fanatics

Energy Breaker was a breath of fresh air. The details in the game are wonderful and makes it one of my favorite snes rpgs.
For me, almost everything looks interesting about it! Thanks
Reminds me of FF Tactics for sure! And the English translation team did amazing!
Man! You keep bringing these titles to my mind. And it keeps making my backlog bigger. Kudos to ya mate

Man like I knew the SNES had a lot of RPGs, I just didn’t realize how much until this channel. May have to play this one

this one looks interesting. I refuse to play amnesiac protagonists but maybe i`ll give this one a chance someday.
That's definitely a recurring theme!
An anime-inspired SNES isometric RPG? It's ticking boxes straight down my RPG wanted feature list. I'd never heard about it!

It has a saturn version I wanna try. FEDA for SNES was really good.
@@luvlybaluga I read about a sequel on Playstation but, FEDA appears to be better.

There are definitely terranigma retrospectives and deep dives on UA-cam!
@@opaljk4835 ok cool. Guess I'll dig a little more.

Yasuhiro Nightow definitely made that boxart…it’s so good :3
never heard of this game till now, this is so cool, thanks for sharing about this cool game!
Glad you enjoyed
I am playing this on my Friday retro streams currently. I am enjoying the game, but early on using energy to move and attack is frustrating.
Thanks. I had never heard of this, but it looks good.

It's on my list of games to play!
The Character Illustrations from the box art look incredibly familiar, were they done by Yasuhiro Nightow (the creator of Trigun)?
I believe so.
@@Xygor Awesome! I never knew he worked on video games even before Gungrave.
Wonderful video, beautiful game
I remember playing this years ago. It was a good strategy/tactical inspired rpg. I just wish I had finished it. ^^'
It looks like anime from tha time period because this games art and character design was done by Yasuhiro Nightow who wrote Trigun.
True!
Bro i didn't know that This jrpg exists thanks for the info
This one definitely looks interesting. I'm not a big RPG fan but I just started playing Lufia 2 because of its fantastic soundtrack. Are you going to review the Lufia games sometime?
The most memorable part of it was dying and not having a save… fun game!
That's never any good in any RPG!
While I never heard of this game I would have NEVER played it I'll never play Tactical or MMO types of JRPGS at all even back in 1996.
Have you played destiny of an emperor 2 with the English patch on the Nes?
For some reason this episode didn’t show in my subs. It was in my homepage with suggested videos

Made by some Shining Force Dev ? the icon feel similar and the mix of Exploration + TRPG.
Hello new game I havent played yet
I don't know why but this video didn't set off a notification nor is it in my main channel video list.
This game style remind me of Monstania, another neglected JP-only JRPG...
The sprites kinda remind me of Shin-Chan!
Haven't heard of that!
Lufia.....
Squaresoft wasn't a developer.
It absolutely was, it was both a developer and publisher.
@@Xygor Square was the developer. Squaresoft was the American publishing arm formed in 1989. The name was also used as a brand name for their games.
I'm dumping this one, just can't get the hang of it, and the movement just ruins the rest.
