I just came upon your page. I'm from Sacramento too but currently in Texas. I'm so glad to see such simple and practical explanation of how to grow these without the necessities extra equipment for humidity. Would love to see an update soon. 😊
You inspired me to grow my anthuriums in household conditions without the need for an IKEA cabinet. Thank you! I hope you will consider sharing more tips with your followers in future videos ❤
Beautiful, beautiful plant. I’m just considering getting an Anthurium but was hesitant. You’ve given me the inspiration I needed to give it a try. I think I can do this. Thanks so very much!
You have given me confidence!!!! I purchased this plant and waiting on its arrival. I live in Houston so I hope I can grow this plant and not kill it!!!!
OMG I LIVE IN SACRAMENTO!!! I'M SO HAPPY YOU PUT THESE VIDEOS OUT! I've always loved waroqueanum but I've been unwilling to get a greenhouse. Words can't express how excited I am that you grew these here!
Recently put out it's biggest leaf ever - 43 by 13 inches - 6 inches taller than previous - the collar is full of roots - so yes so far it is working well... will be putting out a new video soon - thanks!
@@growproteas1148 I have not had success with moss during propagation so it is not my go too. I have found that putting it around the collar of Anthuriums do a good job with root growth. I actually repotted my plants after watching your vids, but I used something called Pafcal instead of my mix. My Anthurium got battered this Spring with hail and it has not been doing well with growth so I am trying to baby it.
Love the video - stunning plants!!! Great job and thanks for sharing your care tips. I live in CA also and thought I would need a humidifier but now I see that's not necessary if grown as a baby plant. WOW thanks so much!!! I wanted to give this a like but there's no like button :(
Wow! I just wanted to ask, have you used this same potting mix since you've had the plant? We have a queen in a cabinet that she is about to outgrow, so I am planning on doing this set up for her once she is out. right now I have her in PON in a self watering pot and she seems to love it. I do have sphagnum moss covering the top layer. Thanks for any help- your plants look amazing!

Wow!!!! You are really going to get bigger leaves. Great work!!! Thank you for sharing!!
thanks!
I love your diy pot extender. Also, you two are 😍.
thanks! so far the extender is working well
@@growproteas1148 Because of you, I took my baby queen anthurium out of my IKEA cabinet today!
@@malindarayallen good luck - it helps to have your plants grouped together to increased humidity - your plant may lose some leaves as it adapts
@@growproteas1148 Thank you! Knowing that in advance will save me a lot of anxiety and plant parent shame.
Can’t wait to see it grows even bigger, good job
Thanks!
Just watched the repot and am wondering how that collar of sphagnum moss is working out. Its a beautiful anthurium !

Nice work! Makes me wonder how big these get in the wild. Massive!
6 foot leaves in the wild
I am scared to use spagnum moss on the roots. I put it on the top. Nice tips on the collar!
All my plants do well in spagnum moss - but I live in a low humidity area

thanks - update coming soon - plant is getting larger!
Thanks so much for the information :) :) :)
thanks so much for your kind words!
Awesome

Another great video. The spag doesn’t hold onto too much water? Ive searched for growstone but its out of stock everywhere so must be a good product!
No the plants love the sphagnum moss - seems to hold the perfect amount of water
Beautyfull. Only took 8 months to grow…
thanks!
Have you tried tying up your leaves it will create more space and they won’t be so spread out?
thanks - i may try that!
The queen is gorgeous! How often you have to water it then since it's on spagnum moss?
i water 2x per week... thanks!

Yes started the plant on sphagnum moss since i got her... loves it...
So cool!!! I love knowing you did it without added humidity, too. 💚🪴🌿
thanks!
Do you have another recommendation in place of the Growstone product? I believe it is DISCONTINUED. Thank you.
you are right! - seems discontinued - 1/4 inch pumice would close - that is what I'll be buying in the future

I can’t believe you just use sphagnum moss!! I always rot my plants with moss ☹️
maybe Sacramento is a drier climate?
@@growproteas1148 yes maybe that’s it! I’m in humid Texas. Anyways I’m a huge fan of
Your channel! You’re inspirational!
Hey! Is the moss always wet? Im scared of root rot
no root rot so far - it dries between watering - and i add grow stone for aeration -

These plants are heavy. Is there a reason she’s always holding the heavy plants?
actually the plant was dry - so it wasn't heavy at all
