TedKeyboard Specs are lower but still faster and more efficient lol, I get 6 hours SOT with a 1900mah battery. Plus the camera is superior to any other overexposed piece of shit out there.
@TedKeyboard I hate iPhones, but not because of specs. I love the specs. iPhone 7 has the fastest CPU still, and fastest GPU. So I really don't know what you are talking about when you say 'spec wise'. Only thing they are lacking is more RAM, but on CPU&GPU front, they are at least 2 generations ahead.
c0ppo CPU and GPU are good, but the RAM and battery are not (don't get me wrong, battery life is good, but the battery itself is not), and neither is the core count (they only had dual core CPUs until iPhone 7). They also usually lack in many important features, such as quick charge, customization, screen resolution, and lack in nice gimmicks that a few people would love, such as IR blaster, wireless charging, front facing speakers (I know there's one on iPhone 7, but there's two on some other phones) etc.

Renjith KA yes you can get one ! its good , but if you wanna save some money get a 3t but if money is not a matter then go for 5 both are awesome ! the 5 has dual cam which is a hit or miss.
muhammad zeeshan you will get update after that bit only till sept or oct probably, even if you don't get , there is lot of developer support so no problem on that. tonnes of roms are available :)
Jelly scrolling ruined this phone for me. Don't buy this phone if you are particular about display quality/UI Fluidity. I'll be returning mine shortly.
Thanks, I have got the OP3 and was ready to buy the OP5, but was expecting a better screen, QHD...the fact that the screen is not a step change makes me think not worth the upgrade for now. I am really happy with the OP3 and now I am waiting for the step change with the OP6 :)
Fair take on a review, but you missed the audio part again. Also, £500 is a bit steep considering the Moto Z was £300 a week ago and you can even buy an LG G6 for just £330.

The battery OP5 is better than S8,U11 or other flagships. Also, don't know why everyone is so desperate to have a waterproof phone. You're not going to dive with it, are you? 1440P screens are pointless. There's no difference unless you get veeeery close to the phone which you'll never do cause you'll destroy your eyes.

Good review. I would have gone for one as I really enjoyed my oneplus 2, but in the end fancied trying the new Sony XZ Premium - which I'm loving so far - oneplus 2 battery really dropped at 1.5 years. Will be interested to see how this does.

I think this phone is for the fan base of the 1+...Here in Southeast Asia I would never buy a phone that wasn't water resistant anymore.

The S8 is only about $599 retail now and $499 at Best buy. The Tmobile deal is buy 1 S8 get 1 free on a new contract which makes is about $400 since it is $799 listed price.
Even from a 3t this is worth it because if the 3t has a weakness it's the camera. The 5 has made a big step in that area and it will improve over the coming months with updates. The reviews are comparing brand new phone with other that's have been available some months.

It's a nice specced handset for the price, if only it had some type of water resistance. Pity they couldn't ask their parent company Oppo. I had purchased the LG G6 but did not like the UI. I prefer the stock or near stock Android experience. is the OP5 a good upgrade?
I think the higher-end model is veering dangerously close to S8 and G6 territory. If people are paying that much already, wouldn't they just pay slightly more and get a much better phone?
If you live in the UK, buy the phone from amazon.it (TIM varient) it's unlocked and has no branding but it will have the TIM firmware on it. Simple to change to generic UK firmware if required. Depends heavily on exchange rate

I was really expecting at the very least that this phone would receive IP68 water resistance, quite disappointed with this iteration. Hopefully the OnePlus 6 will deliver a better phone and a slight price cut too.
rainbow rush g6 has better camera, bigger and better qhd display, sd card slot, better/original design, hifi audio dac, water resistance. for the same price as the 128gb version of op5, you can get all these features. that's why i think g6 is better value. op5 has more ram and newer faster soc, so sure it will perform better. but it won't be noticeable in day to day use.
You failed to mention that the Space Grey is only available in 64gb and Midnight Black in 128gb. Why hasn't OnePlus created a Dash Charge power bank as well? They want to monetize their customers through accessories, hence all the expensive chargers, cables and cases and now even a backpack? Create a damn dash charge power bank. Also at 5 minutes after talk of specs I don't think this warrants the title of "review". Phone sold in the last 2 years are so much more futureproof and don't NEED to be upgraded. I will keep my Note 5 until my next phone has 3 things - IP68/IP67. - USB C w/ USB 3.0/3.1 - I want to be able to transfer a 2gb video file/music much quicker. - 128gb base model.

I'll give a miss. Got the S8 for $450 after trading in a $50 phone, total $500. That's about the same price as the OP5.

The only thing I wanted OP5 to have was IP67/8. The only things I didn't care about was camera and thickness.

It's very decent phone, but LG G6 loosing value so quickly the choice between them is even harder
