I would love to see an update to this review. Has the app improved? Has the company made any improvement to the accessories? Where would you rank this compared to other products that are out today?
$2800 and then how much a month after that...hate the subscription model on everything, car companies are doing it now with different features! A good barbell and iron plates can be passed down multiple generations. Talk about ROI.
Yeah, these things are too expensive...but makes for a good business model - super pricey up front, ongoing subscription, then it breaks after a while.
@@alfaalex101 to be fair, I pay $150/month for memberships for my wife and I to go to our CrossFit gym. This ends up being $1800/year. If I pay the $990 for a lifetime subscription, I can have unlimited profiles for the rest of its life. Even better, my CrossFit coach is going to become a Vitruvian coach so I’ll get training from him anyway.
Beware, once the app subscription runs out you can't even see the weights you use, how long the workout was or even the day you did a workout. It's absurd! They don’t show you the weight you used in the SUMMARY without a subscription. You see the weight when you select and while you’re working out. Im not saying that I agree with their approach to the workout summary, but that’s a pretty important difference anyone reading this should be aware of.
I've had mine for a couple of weeks. For some background I'd consider myself a beginner/intermediate lifter doing strength training 3-4x a week for 2 years. The biggest advantage I've found is the built in "spotter." I feel like I've been working out wrong the whole time as this has redefined my threshold of struggling. What I considered an RPE of 8-9 before is more like 6.5-7 now. There's no excuse to go a rep or two shy because you think you won't be able to complete it, Vitruvian will just slightly lower the load until you squeeze it out. It also forces me to go on high end of the rep range every time. You don't have to stop at 8 if it can just take off a couple of pounds to get a to 10 reps. Mentally this has been huge and I feel that my workouts are much more effective. Cons: - Would love a true incline bench. Happily would have paid a little more for functionality. The bench is fine, but nothing special. - Knurling on the bar, especially with heavy DLs. Skeptical with how the soft grip will hold up, but no issues in the short time I've had it. - The app is fine if you're doing custom workouts. If you're doing classes, it's a work in progress. For example, the classes that have you do time instead of reps start counting when the instructor goes. I could still be setting up my equipment or getting in position when they begin, then your 30 second working set becomes 10. The solution is to play/pause but that can be awkward if you're getting set up and then have to click play. - Can't see the whole program. You have to enroll in a program to see day 1, then finish day 1 to see day 2, etc. - No integration with apple health yet, but they're working on it. Will be nice to see calories in MyFitnessPal. Overall I love this thing. I'm a busy student and a 30 minute each way commute to a gym with free weights cut into my consistency. There's no excuse when the gym sits under your couch. The build quality is impressive and I'm picky. No issues with the weight being jerky which I was afraid of.
@@RR-mv1vr Yup! Let me know if you have any specific questions. “Team Vitruvian” on Facebook and the Vitruvian form subreddit are also solid if you want to read some recent feedback.
@@jecwonch Sort of. You have to select an exercise and either reps or time. The machine doesn't know what exercise you're doing vs what you selected, so you could always use something you otherwise wouldn't work as a "custom" exercise to avoid messing up the data for exercises you frequent.
I've had mine just over a month and so far i love it. I've already squatted and deadlifted over 200lb so i already know that tonal would not have lasted longterm to support my progress unless i adapted my exercises to single leg. Yes there is no overhead pull down but......i haven't installed yet but I have an overhead pulley normally used for free weights that I can easily adapt to use with this. I also know the company is working on a bench that will incorporate some overhead connection for the future. Unlike Tonal, Vitruvian does not paywall the workout builder or exercise modes. What's paywalled are classes/programs, data-tracking and future game-type modes. The data tracking would be cool but I think you can just copy what you did for the day and build on that over time if you don't want the subscription. My overall take is that, yes this replaces an entire gym and I'm getting better workouts due to the adaptive resistance than I was with free weights.
@@dangoldstein152 if I understand the question I believe you can. There is a progression option built in where you can add between 2.2 to 6.6 lbs/ cable each successive lift until you cant complete the lift. There's also a regressive version for going to failure by dropping weight each successive lift. I haven't tried beast mode but that's like an amped up version of progression. If you're talking about more like progression from workout day to workout day there is a scaled workout option in the workout builder that will increase weight per movement over time based on your performance. I use the scaled workouts and it seems to work well and not overload with too high of weight but increases a reasonable amount. In the workout builder it will hold your weight settings as well so you can always adjust the weight slider if you don't feel challenged enough with current selected weight.
"Unlike Tonal, Vitruvian does not paywall the workout builder or exercise modes." This was my main question. I would never buy a machine that relies on a subscription because you never know how long that company is going to be around. Of course that is offset by the proprietary cable connectors.
Can you do all the major barbell lifts needed for starting strength (squat, overhead press)? Do the lifts feel the same? Do you think this could replace a rack and barbell setup! So much more space efficient!
finally!! I've had mine for 2 months and I was hoping that this channel would review it. it's an amazing device. hopefully the UI of the software will improve with more adopters and capital. overall I don't regret it at all
The only reason I have not bought this yet is that there is to pull-down option, but I did chat with them on Facebook and they are working on adding it and said this version will work with that attachment hopefully coming in 2023 :)
Your reviews are pretty spectacular. Would recommend showing some common exercises and commenting on the difference to freeweights/commercial gym etc. Thanks so much for your reviews!
I think it's a mixed bag though because he also has a gym so he spends money on some of this stuff and gets to repurpose it to offset costs regardless. I think it's no small part of how his channel works, but he gets it done and I appreciate it
Thanks for being a reviewer who has and uses the equipment spoken of. I like Tonal and sold my Tempo for it. That said, had Vitruvian been established prior, I may have opted for it. I do love my Tonal pulldowns but am back in the gym now and can do those there.
Ordered the vforn trainer + a few weeks ago. What drew me to this is how compact it is and I can do compound lifts quickly before work or even during a work break. Stoked to receive it soon. (Current shipping time is 6-8 weeks)
@@cawley24 it’s pretty awesome. You’ll love it. It is VERY heavy which means it’s built strong but depending on your situation can be annoying lugging it around.
@@cawley24 how’d it going? Play I’m curious about the tracking-is it good suggestion for your next weight should be? Where is there a graph of your strength increase over time?
So many "smart" all in one home gyms . I get why they are great for the average weekend warrior, but I think I'm going to be a late late adopter to this.
I am not going to be an adopter at all. I still use some plates we got in the early 70s, when I was just getting into high school. My grand children will use them too, if they lift.
Very interesting. I like that it doesn’t require an install. Not 100% sold on the idea of having it from the floor only, but there are ways to supplement that with other movements (pull ups, pull ups, pull ups)
Thank you! We are working on a pull down attachment to ensure you can do everything wth the Vitruvian too, but as you said there are lots of other ways to train your lats for example.
I have seen these popping up on marketplace and have been curious about them. It is cool to see a smart system that goes really heavy. Great review guys!
As a user of this machine one thing I forgot to mention in my previous comment is the efficiency of the machine. As a married person with a child time is at a premium. One of the biggest selling points to me was that you can move from exercise to exercise quickly and the weights change automatically so the annoying fiddling with weights is completely removed. In addition, because of this efficiency you can get an equivalent or better workout to free weights in a much shorter time frame.
What sold me on the Vform was the fact that I can bring it with me. I spend a lot of time traveling for work, so being able to lug this around and get a good workout in anywhere is pretty cool
Finally, someone actually into fitness with a review. Every other review is a tech channel or review channel, and they have a lot of information but idk how they could give a “review” when they havnt stepped foot in a gym
If you had a couple pulleys attached to the ceiling or a rack, with cable extensions that you could attach to the Vitruvian's handles, that could take care of your pull down type exercises. I don't see why not.
One thing never mentioned in these reviews is longevity? It has moving parts, thin cables, friction points, long term it's going to need maintenance and repairs. With a traditional iron set up, or a functional trainer, maintenance can easily be done by anyone and without a subscription fee.
Yep. Not easily user replaceable as the other user states either and it would void the already limited warranty. After the warranty period you are on your own as per a company rep I have contacted about this exact product. For repairs in warranty they want you to ship the product back to them in Australia.
@@jugjivan if you're talking about the cables specifically those are easily replaced. There's a screw on plate that covers the rope/pulley area and the rope would just have to be wound around the pulley and threaded through the handle connector base. If you're taking about motors that's probably another thing entirely.
@@Dude-does-stuff Thats correct, cables can be easily replaced during and after warranty, we can ship them out and set up a time with one of our engineers to talk you through the replacement.
Even if Peloton can’t buy them, they should enter a partnership agreement to allow software integration, shared classes, and join their sales and distribution capacity. The potential is amazing.
I strongly considered getting one of these. I researched it heavily and it seemed like a good product until I reached out to the company for clarifications. Warranty and repairability is a horrible deal for something where you are 100% limited by the reliability of the technology (which they don't even manufacture themselves BTW). If the machine fails and it is out of warrant you are out of luck and on your own. For something this expensive you could have quite a decent home gym setup even with products for limited space such as wall mount racks, wall mount plate storage, basic attachments, and adjustable dumbbells while saving some money over this product. And with that set up you could add on a handy gym or get a kbox for eccentric cable exercises.
Thank you for the feedback Jivan! We do support customers outside of the warranty period and will provide spare parts or send out contractors to fix the machine if needed and also have our own engineering and support team to help and find solutions if faults or issues arise.
@@VitruvianForm Ah, yes... the binding words of a UA-cam comment. Will definitely put my money behind that. If you want to win people over, put that support in writing in the form of warranty.
I ordered a vitruvian trainer in April and recieved it in June. I had a minor rattling issue with my machine. I contacted customer service about the issue. Vitruvian responded to my issue the very next day. They also had engineers contact me to fix the problem and were willing to replace the device if I wanted. I can attest that Vitruvian customer service is A+.
@@bernardval7230 so within the limited warranty period as per their warranty agreement. That is not the issue to be worried about because that is the period consumer laws per their own legally binding consumer agreement mandate that they fix the issue or replace the unit. The problems start when that warranty is no longer in effect which per their own agents is going to be an hassle and you are going to be left out to dry if they can't resolve the issue.
Great video guys ! This space is getting more and more interesting. Also side note, I have been looking everywhere and there seems to be something missing in all the gym content ecosystem : there is no rundown of all the different cable attachment types with comments on which one are useful and for what purpose. Rogue vs Rep vs American Barbell vs Prime vs Mag etc / pronate vs supinate / wide vs narrow / static grip vs rotating etc… Not a single youtube channel out there has done that thoroughly yet. With Rep’s Ares coming out there will for sure be a demand for that type of knowledge. In any case, I appreciate your thoughtful content !
I agree as well on the hardware vs. software. I think VForm has amazing upside. The machine is crazy powerful. They have already done some things in development to make the experience better, like making smaller jumps in weight for smaller muscle groups. The mobile app is a little clanky but give them time. Tonal had no appeal to me personally. I think they fit a demographic but I wanted something with power and this machine has really surprised us.
I know this is an old video; however, I could use your recommendation on which home gym would you recommend for a beginner weight lifter. I’ve lost weight through walking & nutrition yet I want to start incorporating weights. I pay for the gym; however, I’d rather work out at home. Which do you recommend?
One thing i was waiting for that you didn’t address, is it subscription based like all the others? Cuz if not i might actually get this. Sick and tired of expensive “smart home gym” garbage that costs a fortune to buy and to run when i can just pay a gym membership instead.
I dont know how much its changed since this video, but if you could look back with the current software changes and the updated pro kit, would you change your opinion at all? Is the software any better?
Also, available overseas! Tonal _would_ be my choice, if I could get it in Australia, but it's not. Meanwhile, Vitruvian is not only option, they've been blasting my social media, practically begging me to buy it locally. Not sure when I can afford a smart gym (though with my ADHD, they are easily more appealing than a traditional set up), but you can bet that my sights are currently locked on Vitruvian.
I really considered this one but since you can't do things like lat pulldowns or other pulling exercises, I decided to go with the Inspire SF3 as my all-in-one gym solution.
UA-camr GamerBody mentions in his recent review of the Vitruvian that he reached out to the company and they confirmed a lat pulldown attachment is in the works and will be compatible with the current generation of devices.
The exercises I wanna do on this is cable crossovers, Lat pulldowns, Hip Thrusts, Deadlifts, Incline chest press, OHP, Lateral Raises, Skull crushers and Reverse curls.
Is the subscription required? I love the idea of a smart gym but I know I would never use the classes or preprogrammed workouts. But having the ability to have 400+ pounds in such a small form factor seems like a huge win.
I saw that too. But it's limited to the one device. So should it break or malfunction outside of the warranty period or something not covered by the warranty you would have to purchase the lifetime again if you buy a new device. I still want it though lol.
Me too waiting on Speediance. I backed the Kickstarter campaign. Who knows when I will get it with all the shipping delays. There was one review I saw. It is on yuotube look it up.
I think I need to get one cuz I’m a trucker so I cant get to the gym like that cuz I’m gone. I really would prefer to Tonal, but might have to get this because it’s portable.
Subscription price should have been mentioned. I’m subbed out to be honest. I understand the need to make content and have server space. However, $50 per month on top of 3K for the equipment is prohibitive and negates one of the main reasons for having a home gym in the first place.
As a fan of all things iron, I have a better appreciation for those who had to put up with the disco boom. I get there's an audience for this type of thing, but just seems like a glorified total gym with some tech thrown in.
Actually Total Gyms are awesome. They are not for everyone but you can get a great workout on one. I took a class with certified Total Gym trainer at the rehab I was going to. It was great. I get that isn't for everyone. But if it helps certain people enjoy there Fitness journey and get results I say good for them. Also I get your not directly putting down the Total Gym.
How does the Vitruvian stack up against ARX, setting the cost aside? Specifically, in terms of its tactile sensation, the nature of resistance, and its functionality.
I would strongly consider this for portability. It only weighs 80lbs and it goes heavy enough that I could bring it with me on vacation and pretty much continue my JuggernautAI program with minimal changes. 440 May not cover every intended load, but it’d per 90% of my sets and at home I could use this for some accessories. I’m surprised to say this, but I’m tempted!
Thanks for the great review! Please do an update sometime once they release new features. I ordered mine with the Black Friday promotion. It arrives tomorrow.
Thanks for the review Coop. How much floor space would be reasonably needed, considering the machine, the bench, and the possibility to move around well? I am planning a rubber/pvc tiles floor on the carpet for this.
Chose the Speediance instead because I only need more than 220 lbs for deadlifts these days and this makes it easy to strap the machine cables to straight and trap bars with 135 to add the rest of the weight. That said, I would have paid another ~$500 for an upgraded Speediance with at least 300-400 weight capacity and adding some additional weight syncing options that the Vitruvian can. I am very happy with the compromise affer having to downsize from a Freemotion Dual Cable Cross, power rack, and leverage machine after a godd 7 year run, and I definitely won't be ditching the Speediance even after I get the space back. If the potential Vitruvian V Frame looked more functional, there wasn't the subscription issue, and there was a bluetooth finger remote like Speediance has, I could have seen myself going with Vitruvian instead.
How hard would it be to make a frame and have pulleys with extensions down to the machine in order to be able to do lat work? Yeah, it would be half the max weight, but still. If you can do that much extra lifting with your lats, you could then just use the waste band and do pull ups effectively adding 50% to the weight (your body weight). The machine just has to know about you're working with the frame extension. Also, maybe Vitruvian could sell some of the connectors extra, and you can then hook up anything you want to it? How cool would that be?
I'm not sold that it's a replacement for free weights, or that any of these smart gyms ever will be. They don't load the skeleton the same way, and I'm willing to bet the the mechano receptors in the joints don't, and the brain doesn't perceive the load in the same way as being under a bar, or actually having an object in your hand and moving it through space relative to gravity. If you want to get really strong and have that strength be applicable in real world situations, free weights will always be superior IMO. With that said: A) I think it's really cool you could store your entire home gym under the couch. An important benefit in micro spaces. B) the eccentric only SOLD me on this machine. If you get tendinitis, the BEST therapy is eccentric only loading. Price point aside, it would be worth having in your home gym arsenal for that purpose alone.
i have the same perspective as you. The physics, gravitational force and feedback of real free weights seems to be hard to replicate with these cable machines since the force is still coming from a fixed point and it doesn't move in relation to your body. This makes adjusting the moment art of lifts seemingly different than what free weights afford. I'd be interested to trial a cable machine to see whether or not the fixed load point really does have a limiting factor for building muscle or centering yourself "under" the load like you would for a barbell squat, press and the keeping of the load/barbell over mid-foot to ensure proper skeletal loading for these compound lifts. I think the device is interesting and is a harbinger of how the fitness technology is evolving. It would be amazing to some day effectively replace my power rack, barbell and weight plates with a high tech "door mat" with handles :)
I can't speak to what's happening physiologically but I can say that lifting with this seems harder than traditional weights because you can't use momentum like you can with free weights. Personally I like it much better than free weights because it can add and reduce load through a movement maximizing my strength gain. iE: the load is higher where I'm stronger and lower where I'm weaker.
I have used free weights for 15+ years. Without a single doubt in my mind smart gyms will replace free weights. Respectfully pretty much everything you just said is dead wrong Muscles are only capable of one thing and one thing only and that is responding to the amount of load they’re subjected to. In conjunction with our brains because we send the signal to our muscles to move The muscles in your body have no idea whether they are getting resistance from gravity or if the resistance is coming from a cable. Or your body weight for that matter You yourself are aware of this fact but the idea that your muscles can differentiate from very degrees of resistance is complete nonsense As far as moving through space, there is absolutely no difference. When I use my Tonal every single movement I do I’m moving through the exact same space as I would using free weights.
@@dangoldstein152 Your perspective is way off. I own a tonal, I move through the same space. As I would using free weight . Legit no difference what so ever. And why anyone would think there is a difference is beyond me When you lay on a bench the body is in fixed position. You’re using a cable what possibly would make you think that the arms would be forced in a fixed position? You’re thinking of a hammer strength machine or something of that nature. Where are you are forced to move in conjunction with the machine itself But a cable machine or any cable machine for that matter you’re free to move in whatever space you feel necessary
@@mattcoorey2580 Yes, the space is still the same but the relationship of the load to gravity is different. It's just resistance, not an actual load that has to be balanced in order not to drop the bar, during a squat in particular. There's no danger of dropping the bar, or taking over with a Tonal. That will have a different pattern of muscle recruitment. I would ask you, are you stronger now than when you used free weights? How do you know? We're not going to see any world records being broken, or winning the CrossFit games by somebody training only with a Tonal. 😆 For general health purposes, I think they're just fine; I'll wait until I see people on the podium on a regular basis before I believe that they're adequate for performance, or even just getting really, really strong. At the very least, I want to see some studies done by independent labs comparing to free weights in both novices and advanced trainees alike.
It says on their website that you don't have to have the subscription but that if you don't, there will be some restrictions in the app. Do you happen to know the "restrictions"? Obviously I expect the coaching and classes to be gone. Would the weights work the same way?
I find this hardware the most appealing of the Smart Home Gyms by far. Being able to do high weight is awesome. But also not being permanently installed and somewhat mobile is a really big benefit. Much less demanding on your floorplan, and doesn't require mounting a whole extra TV just for working out.
Dude you should show a max deadlift session! From you and/or the strongest person you know. I can sling around +500 pretty easy and I've pulled 630 - I'm wondering how this eoukd feel for me
I feel like these smart home gym devices are a great tool for gen pop to get into better shape and build some muscle. I feel like this would be fantastic for my mom. And the price, after the sticker shock, I mean, I’ve spent quite a bit more on my free weights, just spread out over years.
Thank you it’s awesome seeing what’s out there and I have slowly put together a decent home gym. I love the idea of a smart gym but it seams like it’s not quite there. Maybe something like the Kabuki Kratos but as a magnetic smart gym with bilateral capability, and a UA-cam content creator business model, will get me into it.
I am five mins into the video and no price has been mentioned yet. Im guessing they have two versions, basic for $2,500 and uber for $3,300. Well it comes in at $2,800, guess I was pretty close. I rather get a Kratos flywheel from Kabuki.
Can u do a review soon on the bells of steel lat pulldown ? Tryna conpare that to the rogue and titan fitness version but not enough information/reviews on it
Yes how long do the cables last and how much to replace them. The MAXPRO that Coop reviewed had the info ready even before they released it. And they even replaced the cablesthey used at launch with better cables, because they were wearing to fast.
There's a workout builder that you can use without the subscription. It works great and there is an autoplay option that will move you through the routine without stops and starts(works especially well with timed routines). There's also a scaled workout toggle that will automatically adjust the resistance based on your previous exercise results.
Can't figure out how to change my weight mid-workout without having to start the whole workout over. I programmed my workouts, but sometimes need to change my 2nd or 3rd sets if I guessed wrong.
First smart equipment I would actually consider getting for myself. But I would never get anything that has a monthly membership fee. Even if you just want to use it without the membership, eventually the company will remove all the basic features so you're forced to pay for the membership or write it off as a complete loss. All companies rip you off like that. Even ones with good reputations like Tesla. All superchargers were supposed to be free for life; not anymore. If you sell your Tesla, any software upgrades you bought doesn't transfer to the new owner. Don't forget when Apple got caught secretly nuking the battery in older phone models when they released new iphones to force you to upgrade. And these are trillion dollar companies doing that. Smaller companies will do the same.
@@daedae6463 We have a few safety features. You measure your range of motion and can bail out of the lift if you drop below. If you drop the weight quickly it will also come off or if the bar tilts to one side and gets out of balance the weight will come off so you can get out of the lift.
Those metal and silver connectors you showed are not the best the connectors usually prevent me from a smooth transition between workouts and today I had the issue of the connector just one not disconnecting it is stuck and my workout is finished before it began thank you vitruvian maybe I should buy some dumbbells, barbells and plates
Coop can you use lifter and smart gym in the same sentence? They all seem kind of gimmicking. I would reserve lifter for dumbbell and barbell movements, and maybe some bodyweight movements too

@@michalbugno8844 it’s been a year since you commented, how is it holding up?? Considering buying one this winter!
Thank you so much! Glad to see you are enjoying your training! Keep up the good work
can you do linear progression, like a Starting Strength style barbell program?
Yes I’ve been waiting patiently for this review!!

Really liking this over the tonal honestly. Looks good.

How do you set the weight you want to use?
finally!! I've had mine for 2 months and I was hoping that this channel would review it. it's an amazing device. hopefully the UI of the software will improve with more adopters and capital. overall I don't regret it at all
What would you like it to improve?
The only reason I have not bought this yet is that there is to pull-down option, but I did chat with them on Facebook and they are working on adding it and said this version will work with that attachment hopefully coming in 2023 :)
This is exactly what I wanted to know and perfect!
Also, love your channel!
Good to know! I was asking the same question on their IG.
Your reviews are pretty spectacular. Would recommend showing some common exercises and commenting on the difference to freeweights/commercial gym etc. Thanks so much for your reviews!
Damn the quality of your videos have gone through the roof since I first subscribed 👏🏼
Can't believe the amount of equipment you've got with "only" 371K subs... keep up the good work!
I think it's a mixed bag though because he also has a gym so he spends money on some of this stuff and gets to repurpose it to offset costs regardless.
I think it's no small part of how his channel works, but he gets it done and I appreciate it
A lot of companies are sending him their products to review at this point.
Thanks for being a reviewer who has and uses the equipment spoken of. I like Tonal and sold my Tempo for it. That said, had Vitruvian been established prior, I may have opted for it. I do love my Tonal pulldowns but am back in the gym now and can do those there.
So what would you do with the Tonal? Can you get rid of it easily (meaning sell it) or is it a pain to take off?
I typically don't like the smart home gyms. However I kinda like the v-form. It's something I think I will be adding to the gym.
Well he had to say something bad about the device to stay balanced in his opinion. Very smart to pick the software.
Ordered the vforn trainer + a few weeks ago. What drew me to this is how compact it is and I can do compound lifts quickly before work or even during a work break. Stoked to receive it soon. (Current shipping time is 6-8 weeks)
Hey Jonathan. Any updates on your time with it? I ordered mine a week ago.

So many "smart" all in one home gyms . I get why they are great for the average weekend warrior, but I think I'm going to be a late late adopter to this.
Agree. Way too smart, fancy, and overpriced. I'm old school and happy with a rack, bench, bar and weights.

I bought a $60 dollar pulley that i need to mount but can easily adapt to connect the machine to it

Definitely buying now after this review!
as you should! I bought mine 2 months ago and am in love with it.
We attach our own handles and accessories to it all the time. It comes with an extender and we use that to attach our own accessories

Man, what a great review. Comprehensive, well paced, clean b-roll. Amazing!
The cables are easily user replaceable. If you have an issue with a cable contact the company for replacement.
Agreed. We have some "Ronfic" equipment at my gym. It's a good thing most people eschew it for actual weights, as they're broken all the time.
Peloton needs to merge/buy this. This would be a perfect addition to add to the current lineup
Even if Peloton can’t buy them, they should enter a partnership agreement to allow software integration, shared classes, and join their sales and distribution capacity. The potential is amazing.
@@mnguyen52000 now that would be perfect too!
@@mnguyen52000 Fuck that..not everyone wants pointless memberships to use things they bought
^^ and here come the lies. Not what your reps state when asked the same.
Definitely something I would consider. But I would want to try it before I buy it.
Thoughts on the Tonal layoffs / cutbacks?
Can we get an updated review on this? Or a state of for 2024
Really considering this one
Coop, just ordered one. Hoping to get my fitness journey back on track. Thanks for the review.
How has the experience been one year on?
Thanks for the content! I love seeing this stuff. Wish I found you way earlier in my home gym adventure
Great review Coop, now most importantly I'll get started on a DIY T-lock pin with a carabiner clip attached ;)
$39/ month. You can easily use without subscription as the workout builder and exercise modes do not require it.
@@Dude-does-stuff thanks! Finally someone does it right 🤦🏽♂️

I enjoy your reviews, can you do a comparison of the classes themselves, tonal, vs vitruvian v oxefit etc

Lack of a lat pulldown is one of my biggest gripes as well. Maybe I'll just attach a Vitruvian to my ceiling or something.
I bought a $60 dollar pulley that i need to mount but can easily adapt to connect the machine to it
eh, pullup bar, done
Easily fixable if you can add pulleys to the ceiling and longer ropes.
The little pull out chuckle had me rolling lol
Is the subscription required? I love the idea of a smart gym but I know I would never use the classes or preprogrammed workouts. But having the ability to have 400+ pounds in such a small form factor seems like a huge win.
One this I love about Vitruvian is that they have a lifetime subscription plan. It’s about $900. If you add this, it bring it to the price of Tonal.
I saw that too. But it's limited to the one device. So should it break or malfunction outside of the warranty period or something not covered by the warranty you would have to purchase the lifetime again if you buy a new device. I still want it though lol.

They have a lifetime subscription plan.

Thank you so much for the excellent review.
Can you do a review on the swiss made Eisenhorn?
Thanks for the great review! Please do an update sometime once they release new features. I ordered mine with the Black Friday promotion. It arrives tomorrow.
Thanks for the review Coop. How much floor space would be reasonably needed, considering the machine, the bench, and the possibility to move around well? I am planning a rubber/pvc tiles floor on the carpet for this.
Can you test and compare the Squatz Apollo Board with the Vitruvian?
That blue of the wall is rocking. What color is that?
How hard would it be to make a frame and have pulleys with extensions down to the machine in order to be able to do lat work? Yeah, it would be half the max weight, but still. If you can do that much extra lifting with your lats, you could then just use the waste band and do pull ups effectively adding 50% to the weight (your body weight). The machine just has to know about you're working with the frame extension.
Also, maybe Vitruvian could sell some of the connectors extra, and you can then hook up anything you want to it? How cool would that be?
Would love it if you give us a review on the Apollo Board Gym. I can’t find any reviews on it yet.
Nice work
Wondered if you had a chance to look or try out the speede fitness home gym.
Nice job Coop!!! 🦾
With that said:
A) I think it's really cool you could store your entire home gym under the couch.
Respectfully pretty much everything you just said is dead wrong
Muscles are only capable of one thing and one thing only and that is responding to the amount of load they’re subjected to. In conjunction with our brains because we send the signal to our muscles to move
The muscles in your body have no idea whether they are getting resistance from gravity or if the resistance is coming from a cable. Or your body weight for that matter
You yourself are aware of this fact but the idea that your muscles can differentiate from very degrees of resistance is complete nonsense
As far as moving through space, there is absolutely no difference.
When I use my Tonal every single movement I do I’m moving through the exact same space as I would using free weights.
@@dangoldstein152
Your perspective is way off. I own a tonal, I move through the same space. As I would using free weight .
Legit no difference what so ever.
And why anyone would think there is a difference is beyond me
When you lay on a bench the body is in fixed position.
You’re using a cable what possibly would make you think that the arms would be forced in a fixed position?
You’re thinking of a hammer strength machine or something of that nature. Where are you are forced to move in conjunction with the machine itself
But a cable machine or any cable machine for that matter you’re free to move in whatever space you feel necessary
For general health purposes, I think they're just fine; I'll wait until I see people on the podium on a regular basis before I believe that they're adequate for performance, or even just getting really, really strong.
Classes/programs, data tracking, and future game modes are in subscription. Workout builder and all exercise modes do not require subscription.
Have you tried the Oxefit XS1? If so, curious on your thoughts on it vs. Tonal. It seems like it may be the new king (albeit for a steep price)
I wish there were more reviews out for the oxefit, it looks really cool but it seems like it’s on nobody’s radar
I find this hardware the most appealing of the Smart Home Gyms by far. Being able to do high weight is awesome. But also not being permanently installed and somewhat mobile is a really big benefit. Much less demanding on your floorplan, and doesn't require mounting a whole extra TV just for working out.
This would be fantastic for traveling

Can u do a review soon on the bells of steel lat pulldown ? Tryna conpare that to the rogue and titan fitness version but not enough information/reviews on it
Shocking how small the diameter is on those cables. What happens when those snap?
Yes how long do the cables last and how much to replace them. The MAXPRO that Coop reviewed had the info ready even before they released it. And they even replaced the cablesthey used at launch with better cables, because they were wearing to fast.
In warranty you ship it back to them for repairs. Out of warranty you are SOL.
Thank you for the review. Can you do customized workouts without the subscription?
I have this machine for just over a year and I am thinking of going back to the gym there a lot of exercises can’t be done for example pull-ups
So that’s 220lbs from each cable? And can you use the bar attachment to squat?
