Ultimately we need more manufacturers so these drivers can get a drive.

Pourchaire needs to earn a FIA super license first before he can get a seat in F1. According to the allocated points for his previous two seasons he'll need to finish at least 5th in the 2021 F2 championship to be certain to have the 40 required points to be eligible for the FIA super license. Unless Pourchaire finishes in the top 3 in 2021 and wins at least 3 more races I don't see any team being keen on signing him regardless.
Alfa Romeo would be fools to sign two complete rookies for their all-new car in 2022. They *need* somebody experienced both for setting the car up, developing it and to mentor a rookie. I also think that the new cars which will allow closer racing will fit Kimi like a glove. Nothing wrong with his race craft. This is btw where he still has the edge on Giovinazzi in the races. Whoever is in the Ferrari seat is Ferrari's decision but right now Giovinazzi is in the "Ferrari seat" meaning that if Ferrari want a drive for Callum Ilott or Robert Shwartzman then Gio has to go. Personally I believe he'll be Ferrari's "Italian test driver". A position previously held be the likes of Badoer, Morbidelli, Larini etc.
Williams would be inexplicably myopic not to sign Bottas if he becomes available to them. Personally I believe Alpine should sign him and tell Ocon to wait for his turn. If Ocon at 25 can't beat Alonso at 40 then I don't think he's ever going to be a top driver. It's equally foolish to expect great things from Alonso in his 40's. The stats for F1 drivers in their 40's is awfully clear. Only one has actually won a race in their 40's for the last 50 seasons. 50 seasons! The was Mansell in the 1994 Australian GP, and it bears mentioning that Schumacher and Hill had had their infamous collision taking both out and Mansell was in the best car. Even Schumacher scored just a single podium in his three seasons at Mercedes aged 40-43. That too was helped by Maldonado colliding with Hamilton two laps from the finish or Schumacher would have finished 5th.
How many F1 drivers in their 40's have even finished on the podium the past 50 seasons? Only five.
Clay Regazzoni in 1979. Driving what was the best car in the second half of the 1979 season.
    Mansell's Adelaide win in 1994.
Mario Andretti in the 1982 Italian GP. Driving the 1982 world constructors' championship winning Ferrari, he actually put on pole for the same race aged 42.
Jacques Laffite in the 1986 American GP and Schumacher in the 2011 European GP.
Stats are awfully hard to rationalize away.
My point is that Alonso at 40 isn't the measure of Alonso aged 30. He hasn't won a race in 8 years.
Alpine need to find the next Verstappen. Ferrari did in Leclerc. McLaren did in Norris. Mercedes did in Russell (if he's signed). Ocon I'm afraid isn't on their level. He couldn't beat neither Perez nor Ricciardo as team mates. If they're so adamant in signing a French driver then hire Gasly.
Alonso in his 40's and an Ocon who can't beat the senior driver is an inadequate line-up for a team looking to move up the ranks. Alonso obviously stays for 2022 since he is doing better. Ocon has been overhyped for years and I can't see another Verstappen or Leclerc in him.
Who's to say Oscar Piastri or Guanyu Zhou (both Alpine Academy drivers) won't get a shot?
Not sure Tsunoda stays for 2022. He is a Honda protegée. Without an official Honda entry from 2022 onwards the decision on having him as an active driver rests on how close he gets to Gasly in 2021.

I loved reading the depthful analysis you have provided, agree with many of your points although I should say that Ocon did sign a long term deal not long ago and won't be going anywhere for a bit. But if his performances aren't good, then yea Alpine could very well terminate the contract early.

I think it would take a top 3 finish (a la Tsunoda) for Alfa Romeo to promote Pourchaire, I very much expect him to get the seat for 2023 though; as for Giovinazzi it wouldn't surprise me if he swaps to the Sauber seat on a 1 year contract, while Ilott/Shwartzman take the Ferrari seat.

Judging by the announcement about no designated Ferrari seat, I now definitely think Giovinazzi is going

I don't think Williams pick Latifi again, the car is going to improve, they want to be in that midfield.
My picks are Bottas and Hulkenberg for 2022, both of them were former Williams drivers!

Latifi brings in A LOT of money, more than most on the grid. Bottas and Hulk would be a far better lineup tho

I think Mick Shumacher would be moved up to Alfa Romeo and the second seat sadly would probably still be Giovinazzi since Ferrari DESPERATELY want an Italian, but he is just not that good. Put him in the endurance team with the new hyper car and move on. Heck, get Bottas as the veteran and run him 2 years with Mick and then bring in Arthur to drive with Mick in a few years. It won't happen, but I keep hoping that Mazepin is such an embarrassment to russian that putan steps in and russian money from other sources to Haas means Mazepin out and Robert Schwartzman, a FAR FAR FAR better russian driver than Mazepin, steps in.
