Actually, Carmax is known as always offering the highest offer compared to dealerships or other car buying services, Carvana is the one that always offers abysmal prices
$76k seems reasonable given that Carmax seems to be refusing to pay the $20k markup for foundation series models. Give it a few months and the prices will drop by $20k on all models.
My honest guess was between $60k-$80k They will only buy up to 60% resale value. It’s not to the benefit of the customer to trade in or sell your vehicle to a dealership. Thinking you would get a retail offer is ridiculous. They are in the business of reselling cars, you know you’re not going to get what they would sell it for…. So I’m not understanding the shock here.
They definitely buy higher than 60% of resale value. I submitted my Rivian to them just to see and they offered within 3k of what the private market is at right now.
Cut to the chase- they offered $76,000 which is a fair price considering they would be purchasing a car that has no warranty because the purchase and resale voids it.
It’s because of the rapid depreciation and price cuts of other Tesla models which has “set the market”. Carmax is going to go with market, not anecdotal trendiness.
@TroySavary No, they won't. Tesla can only produce under 250k a year, which they will fall way short of this year, and there are over 2 million pre-orders. Even if over half the pre-orders get canceled, Tesla will sell out 4 years of produced cubertrucks.

AFAIK that can't sell agreement isn't enforceable. Also I thought Tesla dropped that clause. Honestly anyone who offers less than MSRP is a fool. You could easily buy a CT and price gouge it for another $20-35k more like Tesla was doing to their customers back in 2022.
3000 miles & custom wrap likely depreciate it quite a lot. Since they knew what you were up to and the 50K possible hit they may get reselling it that offer was fair. Can Tesla collect 50K every time it resells within the first year? I don't know.
I initially thought it was going to be 80K, but then you went on about Dubai and i adjusted it up to 150K, but then you mentioned the 150K and looked so optimistic, i scaled it way up to 250K. CarMax isn't going to resell it for anywhere close to what you think. They'll send it to a wholesale auction, not sell it on their lot for $150k+. Their offer def means they don't even feel like dealing with it.
well in order to sell it and make a profit you need to sell it for more then 50K over the prices you want with profit to Pay the 50,000 fee to Tesla for selling it before a year of ownership
I'd pay to see Elon Musk enforce it. Likely wouldn't hold up in court. We already know second hand these things are going to crash. Especially with the founders edition mark up. That's why musk doesn't want them on market first year second hand.
It's just like a pawn shop. It's all about how long they will have to hold on to it, depreciation which will happen if they have to hold it for 2 years because no one wants to buy these in all areas. It's a legit offer.
They offered a fair price because their business they don't pay for nostalgia they don't pay for sentimental value 75% of the car's value is a solid price. If you want more to sell your vehicle sell it privately. New cars lose 10% of their value in the first 30 days.

I mean it was supposed to be a 40k truck starting price when they first announced it, so it was never going to be a collectible
Being a Diabetic , that Cookie would put me in the hospital. Damn that looks soooo good 😮😮😮 5:02
“Fans are rushing over”😝
Dude, it’s the truck relax.
$76,000 is the offer.
Thx bro this video was getting long
They offered a fair price because their business they don't pay for nostalgia they don't pay for sentimental value
75% of the car's value is a solid price.
If you want more to sell your vehicle sell it privately.
New cars lose 10% of their value in the first 30 days.
What a fool. It’s not madness, it’s common sense. And I guessed 78k so I was right on the money… 🤦♂️
This will be the standard for these junky trucks. I'm not hating but this should not ba a shock to the Tesla fan boys!! This was the reason King Elon forbids sale before the 1st year! Hilarious!!!!
Holy crap are you gonna get one?
To be fair, I was expecting $90K to 95K
Long time no see😂
couldn't help but notice that sams club was charging $2.29 for gas???!!! thats pre-pandemic price!!
still $2.79-$2.99 in my area!
Election year gas is something else.
76k seems about right, not too good but business is business. Within a few years that should be this car value.
i saw one yesterday in the wild. they are absolutely head turners.
Why because it was stuck on a hill or in mud?
Keep beating a dead horse to your grave @@nottmfunguy
i was guessing they were going to offer 60k, just going by some of the low offers they always give out.
Yeah, I don't think they could sell it for $150k - $200k "so fast". They are probably undervaluing it a bit, but not nearly as much as you are overvaluing it.
