In an alternate universe somewhere there's probably an amazing Futurama game in the vein of Ratchet & Clank, full of vibrant planets and tons of weapons and gadgets that the Professor steadily gives you.
On top of that, treating “space travel” as a series of hub-worlds via the Planet Express ship, in a similar manner to A Crack in Time’s take on it, (complete with radio stations & talk-shows)
Tbh the only thing about the revival that bugs me is how I can tell the VAs are straining themselves doing the voices a bit more compared to the earlier seasons. Not a fault of anyone, just a reality of time.
IDK don't about that, the Simpsons VAs are seriously showing their age, Marge sounds like she's wasting away from cancer and Bart sounds like a chain-smoker now. The Futurama revival is hit or miss for me, some episodes are as good as the original run, but then you get retconed stinkers like "Game of Tones" where suddenly Fry misses his mother who suddenly was affectionate for him, oh and they have Seymor his dog do a Brian Griffin gag holding a martini glass which made me cringe.
When I first played this as a little kid, I spent so long trying to figure out how to get the hammer. Grabbing it would obviously kill you, so there must be another way. I eventually gave up, grabbed it, died, saw the "GAME OVER" screen, sighed, then laughed like hell when the cutscene that explains respawning played.
I look back on this game fondly simply because I look back on the sixth generation of consoles fondly and to me this game is the absolute epitome of sixth gen.

On the topic of 3D conversions of 2D characters, I think Futurama itself shows the difficulty of that equally as well. Lots of the earlier seasons had fairly obvious 3D portions, and they only got less obvious once the staff were more experienced and the technology got more advanced
The Simpsons is also now nearly completely rendered in a 3D Environment yet it appears to be 2D for the most part. A better and more obvious example is Family Guy which uses the same technique but shows the 3D part a bit more. So bringing 2D into 3D is possible and used by The Simpsons right now. So they could use that same technology and make a game using it, meaning the game would look EXCATLY the same as the show but you would be able to control the characters etc. But, I doubt that will ever happen.
@@thephoenixking1086Family Guy sometimes is painfully obvious with its 3D but other times it is subtle, like the passing of trees in the background when a character is driving. You know why I like Minimme's videos so much? Because he actually consider the realities of video game budgets when he reviews licensed games. We can't just dream up any game we like without thinking of the financial realities. Companies that spend big on game development either do it on their own IP to get all the profit or use a very popular IP like Star Wars, DC, Marvel to attract a big audience. It doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on a Futurama game, especially at a time the series is getting cancelled to due low ratings. If there was more appreciation that a Futurama game exists at all maybe we could get more low-mid budget Futurama games that improve on each other gradually with fan feedback. Instead we get nothing because we whine that the one game we got didn't have the scope of Marvel's Spider-man 2.
Sorry kiddo, this game went out of print over 20 years ago. Me making a video on it is not going to affect whether or not it gets the sequel. Also nobody expects anything to have the budget of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, I do however expect a game to be halfway decent. And I'm not going to appreciate something just for existing just because I like the source material. Quality is quality.
Kind of sucks you'll never really see a game like this again, most TV tie in games are relegated to mobile games that are mostly the same and offer no different gameplay experience, yeah this game isn't all that great, but holy hell it's a hell of a lot better than a city builder with hours long waiting unless you cough up some money to speed things along.
I didn't even know this existed. Plus fox is stupid. What else they cancel that was a hit? Wasn't family guy and Lucifer ancelled too? But King of the Hill stayed on with shitty ratings? Lmao look at them now. What shows does anyone watch? Or even know what are their line up?
Well..yeah..thats cause fox entertianment focuses heavily on a leftist target demographic. Fox News is right wing and thus people tend just make the blanket statement that Fox is conservative foxused but as far as movies, sitcoms, etc. go, the vast majority of what they put out, it leans toward liberal perspectives. Pretty much every animated show that spawned from fox is overseen by a neutral or liberal show runner and the live action shows are similarly done. That results in A LOT of jokes against the company because it's the steritype of the coperate overseer they are taking a strike against but this also wouldnt be done if Fox was truely like this. At this point the realization is blurred but Fox has ALWAYS driven itself in the market through radicalism. That's why they purposely invested in shows like the Simpsons which were considered a crude and insulting affront to the standard depictions of TV families at the time. It showed a more real and gritty model that people felt were amoralistic and insulted the wholesome nuclear family institutions on T.V. This focus was kind of what set fox apart and gained a demographic of young adults/teens. Everyone hates on fox..especially fox but it's good for fox and no one stops watching their shows just because they complain about them supposedly being too conservative..yep..sure..lol I guess they told Bob's Burgers it couldn't be about a family of canibols..booo! How very right wing crazy of them! I'm sure the team behind the show just absolutely hates the company for reals, which is why they continue to work there. The jokes are their serious, real feelings of hate toward they people allowing them to have a bisexual burger artist as their main character! 😂
I get the comment but still they used to mistreat some of their animated shows, the Homerphobia episode was only approved when the executive that wanted it changed so it basically didn't talk about the topic was fired and a new one came, family guy had 3 episodes completed by the fox executives while the team was on the 2007 strike, futurama was put at akward times resulting in being cancelled after 4 seasons, same for american dad and it's time slot was taken by a live action show for some months.

Americans have to spend like $200 to own this game? Average American L I guess.
August 12th... My bday
I saw a couple episodes of the revival and it retains its quality from what I watched
If you really want to see a bad game, play Batman: Dark Tomorrow.
