      LeNouveauWestern I bought a house in decent condition about a hour east of Pittsburgh for 24k. 80k for a truck? it better give blow jobs. I paid $450.00 for my 97 f150 4x4 3 years ago and still drive it 65 miles a day.

      When you consider the features and capability, and when you adjusted for inflation, prices have not risen much, if at all.

      EVIL Co. Can't blame taxes and the cost of add-ons on the truck, and with incentives and discounts, it's probably still around $80,000 with everything on top.

      Have you guys seen the price of trucks in this day and age? My buddy has a 2011 F150 with a 5.0 and was offered 18K trade in with 120K miles on it... For the love of god they have reasonable mile Silverado 2500/3500's that are duramax's going for $30K that are 2007-2008. Cheapest around me are 22K with 200K+ miles.

  • @ickn2005

    My 8200 coworkers and I work hard every day to build these awesome trucks. You might say, 'What the, 80k for a truck?' I agree that is a lot of money to some people. That's also the reason why it's a platinum edition! It has damn near everything, as you clearly see in this video. Most people don't pay anything near this, as you could easily imagine. But ask yourself, would you have watched this video if it said mid-range and comparably equipped $45k F-350? Probably not. People want proud American made products, but don't want to pay American wage prices.

    • @gunguy2718
      @gunguy2718 7 років тому +2

      ickn2005 if you guys didn't make $50 an hour to screw in a bolt these trucks would be affordable. Thanks for running all the jobs to Mexico with your unions. Instead of making a reasonable wage for unskilled labor you killed the American made! Plus these are American assembled all the parts are made in other countries.

      I live in a upper class almost non existent crime rate area in Michigan and for 80-90k I can get a 1500-1600 sqft house in good condition easily. Not every state has the same real estate values as California. I would say 1500-1600 sq ft is far from a "little shack" when it's big enough for an entire family.

      Idk what y’all smokin but a dealer makes maybe 2 to 5 grand on a new platinum they make more on selling used trucks! I just traded my 2019 f250 lariat in on a 2019 f350 cclb platinum they gave me 55,000$ dollars for my lariat and only made about 2 grand on the platinum I bought from them they will most likely get 60 or 65 k outta my lariat I traded!! y’all don’t know how this shit works in today’s market obviously new trucks, especially high end ones don’t depreciate hardly at all any more!

  • @robertbischoff1817
    @robertbischoff1817 7 років тому +2

    Most definitely worth it. Luxury has been keeping me out of the big truck market for years. I've been buying SUVs and European cars because of the modern features. Putting them into a big truck opens a new market for me. The extended cab gas SRW xlt still fits the need of the "working man". This truck is targeting people like myself. I want to have utility with luxury. I've seen these going for 10k below MSRP, so add that to current incentives and I say it is a deal!

    • @natefigueroa
      @natefigueroa 6 років тому

      Jack Cloutier the truck will last longer than all the other super Dutys built. The electronics and control modules will be the problem. Modules require programming and are very expensive. Plus a diesel engine can range anywhere from 12 to 25k. I would worry more about the cost to repair it then the actual truck lasting 30 40 plus years.

    • @natefigueroa
      @natefigueroa 6 років тому

      Jack Cloutier the average lifespan of a PCM ECM or control module is 20 years. So assuming you can get replacement modules or engine computers the cost will be extremely high to repair.

    What??? " you say, if you want a truck that can do it all? its worth the $80, ooo " ?????!!
    first of all, do you work for ford? did you buy this truck your in for this video? did you go get a 2nd mortgage on your house to actually buy this truck? or are you financing it for what? $5-6-7 hundred dollars plus full coverage! a month in payments??? are you serious? you must have been paid some nice change to do this video... incase you havent noticed? the majority of people in this country are not doing well!!! ( 33 states voted for Donald Trump ) all that technology is going last only as long as the COMPUTER in that truck, that controls everything ( including the suspension ) lasts!!!! its outragious that a truck or any other vehicle should cost this much!!! seriously.. all these cars are just vehicles to get us around.. and some for work.. thats it... they should raise all the pay and keep all the costs low! so everyone will be able to buy whatever they want, and 90% of the population will be happier and the economy, fine and stable! no vehicle is worth this amount of money.. and once again, it will go mostly to only those who can buy it, just to show everyone else who couldnt? that they can!!!! ( or it will be some contractors tax write off ) and as for the car industry heading towards vehicles that drive themselves?? : 0 the " leaders" need to remember, that driving is fun!!!!! people like to drive!!! and its the the driving experience that makes the difference!!! im sure there is a market for people who just want to be driven around though!!! the rich!!!! so focus on them for that.. but the rest of the country, and the world, will still want to drive for themselves!!! im sure!!! ~ people shouldnt buy any vehicle for this money!

      J.R. Crews if someone buys this truck and never uses it as a truck, yes of course they would be a dumbass. Same thing with people buying half ton trucks and not ever using them for what they're for. If I had the money sure I'd buy a new powerstroke loaded out. But that doesn't mean that I'm not going to use it for what it's for. Trucks are getting more and more expensive as they are putting more and more technology into them, and making them have all these luxury car features/ interiors. Do you need heated, cooled, and massaging seats when you're towing a trailer...? No of course not. Do you ever need them at all in any sort of vehicle? No. But it's nice to have, and that's what more and more people are expecting out of their truck. Do these features make these trucks less capable? No. Expensive, but that's about it

My truck doesn't have any of the features you mention and to me that's good because that way it won't cause problems or headaches down the road. If they're so good than why do you see more modern trucks in the repair shops than you see old trucks. Have fun with the overpriced truck until it starts to have major issues latter on.

      You can avoid being in the shop 24/7 simply by servicing your vehicle on time and not running it on cheap oil, its not that hard.
      The design of the 96 F150 originated from 1989, so it was pretty dated for the 90's.
      199 HP and 270 lb/ft of torque is disappointing for a 5.0L V8, so quit trying to cheer yourself up.
      And if old trucks are so good, then why are most of them have been rotted out and forgotten about?

    • @CJColvin

      ᏌᎦᏋ ᎿᖇᏫLLᎶᏌᏁ 01 The 302 and 351 Windsors are bullet proof engines in fact more bullet proof than the 5.4L SOHC 3V Triton engines as well as Ecoboost engines. I bought the truck back in Wentzville MO back in October of 2015 for $3300 with my own money by working two summer jobs, taking care of my neighbor's dog, also having birthday money, Christmas money, and graduation money so that way I don't have to be in huge dept unlike you would with a new car or truck. Have fun paying all of the payments on you're $80,000 truck and yes I still see a lot of these old trucks on the road still going strong and running like champs they'll take more miles than these new trucks will ever do. Yes the body style was made in 1980 but yet it stills looks better than anything you see on the road today and plus it makes you look and feel like a real true American.

    • @TR33ZY_CRTM
      @TR33ZY_CRTM 7 років тому

      CJ Colvin
      Yeah, because being an american means having a dated pickup truck with a weak V8 that gets poor fuel mileage, and if they were so great, then why aren't the Windsor V8's in production anymore?
      And fun little fact, you can get some of the features but the same amount of power from the XL or XLT models for half the price, so yeah, I wouldn't be in debt.
      And like i said, service your vehicles and they won't break, simple as that.

    Title is a question ---> answer is "no". Almost without an exception on youtube.
    Important questions for a pickup:
    Can you put a 4x8 sheet of plywood flat in the bed?
    Can you put the material for building a fence in the bed?
    How does it drive fully loaded?
    How does it do on an icy road when empty?
    How much extra for the "properly equipped"? Just so we know what the price is for a "class leading" truck. BTW: My bicycle has "class leading" towing ability. By excluding all the things that work better for a purpose, you can always make your product "class leading"
    For $80K you can buy two box trucks. They could deliver material to two job sites at the same time.

    10 years from now, all the electronic shit will be broken and impossibly expensive to replace. In a decade, these trucks will be falling apart and no one will be able to afford the repair costs.

    It's 2017, why is the scroll sensitivity so laggy on the dash screen thing? Why can't they make it smooth like swiping on a iPhone screen

    for all of you bitching about how expensive its remember this is a work truck + a luxurious daily driver so u dont have to buy a truck for work and a car or an suv for your family and comfort u can use ur truck for both , u can still get a base model for less than 30k tho like in the old days single cab 8 foot bed and not a lot of options

    tbh these ford trucks and similar ones look too big to be good off road and a bit heavy too. I prefer a good old cruiser or patrol.

    "for the average man, 80k means a house."
    Or, let's be fair, the house you're driving.
