That riff is unmatched. Thanks to youtube I was finally able to figure out the right settings on my delay and the strumming pattern. Tricky, but once you get the rhythm down it's really easy and fun to play.
They were very young men then and Rockin the B stage at The Horde Festival to where the B stage was the only place to be. No takeaway from Dave Matthews
The very first time I heard this song it became my new favorite song...couldn't get enough of it, just loved it...such a happy song! Long story short, a couple of months later we went to visit good friends in another state who we not seen in a few years. We always shared our music for years. My friend says to me-(you probably know where this is going by now ☺) anyway, be goes over to his player & says..."Want to hear my new favorite song?" Yup, it was a moment of pure joy! So of course everytime I play this song, I am immediately brought back to that day !
There's a live version out there where you "rip the roof off this place" that is by far the best live song I've ever heard. Please please please release a video of that concert. The song itself is solid but that rendition was monumental. This one, well done, but not quite what I long for.
One of my favorite times at a show. Early/mid 90s? Can't remember if it was Azalea fest. or Riverfest under the beer garden tent at the Hilton in Wilmington NC. FJB closing the fest on Sunday and I was stoked. Get there to find people had taken all the folding chairs from the tables in the beer garden and had them all lined up in front of the stage. Now this area in front of the stage had been wide open and free for dancing and such for the many bands and acts during the duration of this 3 day festival. Get there and no room to boogie. They have the entire area in front of the stage filled with these chairs. So I'm hangin up by the front corner of the stage and see a friend of mine. She's wanting to boogie too! So we kinda slide our way to the front and start to dance. At this point people are stacked up behind 15 or 20 rows of these damn chairs. This is when the girl sitting behind me gets pissed because she and her boy can no longer see due to us dancing in front of them and seeks security. Poor dude came up to me and said "Sir, you're going to have to sit down." I turned to him and said "no, they need to get off their ass and dance!" as i gestured with my hands for people to get up. At that point all you could hear was chairs collapsing and a dance party broke out! Sorry for the long story. It's just one of my favorite memories at a great show, at least my version! Wondering if any of you remember that show.
I went through a bad break up with my sons father, and he ended his life. This song reminds me of the drives I would make to take my son to his grandmothers house (fathers mother). We would drive in the New Mexican desert and jam this song loud af and sing and it was like screaming for validation and freedom from this horrible thing we went through. You and other bands got me through what was the most horrible thing in my life. I listen now and feel empowered like I know I made it and I’m still making it. Thank you for your music. It really does amazing things for us.
From your individual places to my heart in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, In A Daydream remains one of my all time favorite songs! Since I first heard it on indie radio here, I've been following the band. The Freddy Jones Band certainly has wonderfully exemplified indie rock, and forever will be tops in my book! Well done, lads.
This is bullshit!😅😅 Why? Because: you guys sound awesome. Makes me miss live music. I missed your last show because I had to work. This brings back flood of memories about hanging out with friends on great summer nite in the bars around Chicago. Hang in there everybody. Long live Chicago rock and roll !! Thanks FJB for doing this! 🍻🍻👍😁
Sorry...had to post again....THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! You guys are amazing...from good times to getting me through the loss of both my parents. I've relied on your music....I'm from Minnesota and carried your spirit to South Florida and you now have more that 15 TRUE die hard fans that get it...I just fucking love your music.

One of the greatest songs ever.
It's such a devine riff. I love this song. ❤️🫀
How the hell is this song not more popular?? These guys are all incredibly talented and deserve wayyyy more mainstream recognition and notoriety
Well its from 1994 for one reason. But agree. Check out Future Thieves if you don't know them. Horizon Line album, CD, streaming. I am 60 so.
Popular and amazing are two very different things. Greatness is seldom acknowledged when it is in our midst.
i totally agree!!!!
download our new version at FreddyJOnesBand.net Thanks for the LOVE
@@akamoroff It was a number 1 song... People come to see the band just to hear this one. Some songs are timeless
