I’ve always been fascinated by this delay. Rob on the album has a bigger sound to me than single dotted 8ths. It sounded to me like a circular delay like a pcm70 or something that was panning or bouncing in the studio. To me it sounded like a stereo pan of 1/4 or 1/2 prior to the dotted 8s. I saw him play and used a lot of horizontal runs with bouncing pick style, super clean thumping on the open d Travis style. I’m sure I’ll obsess over it again, so much fun to play

The sound in this clip is better than at least 2 live shows i saw at the House Of Blues here in LA in like '95-'97... they had some fucking deaf sound guy there for a cpl of years who was complete ASS at leat 2 FJB and a cpl of other shows there were mixed horribly.... but Long Live FJB!

There's a live version out there where you "rip the roof off this place" that is by far the best live song I've ever heard. Please please please release a video of that concert. The song itself is solid but that rendition was monumental. This one, well done, but not quite what I long for.

Hey Michael. Great video effort here. How about a follow up on the scales and phrasing Wayne uses as he plays quarter notes, letting the flashback fill it up. After saying that, how about moving into “Take the Time” tapping, and his funky picking on “Waitress”? Your training is really helpful. Tom

Coming from someone who doesn't play, but loves the band, you did a great job. For a guy who doesn't like being on camera, you do it really well. lol

The very first time I heard this song it became my new favorite song...couldn't get enough of it, just loved it...such a happy song! Long story short, a couple of months later we went to visit good friends in another state who we not seen in a few years. We always shared our music for years. My friend says to me-(you probably know where this is going by now ☺) anyway, be goes over to his player & says..."Want to hear my new favorite song?" Yup, it was a moment of pure joy! So of course everytime I play this song, I am immediately brought back to that day !

Probably a huge shot in the dark here. If you were to have turned off the delay and played it that would of been much more helpful to those trying to learn the part. Sounds great and DG was the master of the delay before those others you mentioned. So it appeared at times you were playing straight eighths and letting the dotted eight delay create the syncopation.

Hey guys, I'm going to tell you a story: I met this girl in the 90's at the CME in Chicago and took her home to my recently acquired farm in Peotone. I had like a 400 watt Onkio receiver that would be cranked up all the way playing Waiting For The Night... repeatedly. There is a certain sound quality of a cranked Stereo in an empty farm house.The girl would help me clean the place up and we would drink some coffee early and Bailey's later. The sun is shining the lace curtains dancing in the gentle breeze the music echoes... In a Daydream. Those summer weekends are my favorite memories. I blew up the receiver, and eventually sold the farm, but the girl never left. I now call Susan my wife. The moral of the story is that Freddy Jones band is a very real part of the soundtrack of our life. As a musician myself, I can't imagine anything more awesome than that. Love this!

I went through a bad break up with my sons father, and he ended his life. This song reminds me of the drives I would make to take my son to his grandmothers house (fathers mother). We would drive in the New Mexican desert and jam this song loud af and sing and it was like screaming for validation and freedom from this horrible thing we went through. You and other bands got me through what was the most horrible thing in my life. I listen now and feel empowered like I know I made it and I’m still making it. Thank you for your music. It really does amazing things for us.
