Bilt Card vs Chase Sapphire Preferred (Which is Better?)

  • I compare both the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Bilt card to show you how each one stacks up. In this video I go over both cards reward multipliers, travel perks, benefits, perks, transfer partners and more to provide a comprehensive comparison. Although the Chase Sapphire Preferred is a popular card, I believe that the Bilt credit card puts up a really good fight.
    Of course if you rent, the Bilt card makes way more sense and is almost a no brainer. That card has no annual fee so the only real consequence of getting this card is that you take up a Chase 5/24 slot. Not to be that guy but you could also get both cards and do perfectly fine as well. There really is a best of both worlds.
    I'm curious to see if Bilt will release another credit card in the future, perhaps one with an annual fee.

    When the WF Aurograph gets travel partners, especially Hyatt, the Wells Fargo combo of BILT and Autograph will be amazing and with No Annual Fee!

      The Wells Fargo hate is getting dated at this point. People acting like all of the other banks besides WF are saints are something. Banks are swindling people every day but under the radar. Just so happens to be that the WF scandal was made public. Fact is, they have made solid credit cards so far through their rebranding and they're set to also come out with their business lineup. They definitely have a chance to become major players in the travel game if they continue to go the path that they are. I've also had nothing but good customer service experience as well.

      @@ow5966 I used to have the Amex green card and I upgraded it to gold. I wasn’t eligible for a new sign up bonus. I can justify the credits of the good as opposed to the green. The 2x on Bilt and the 3X on the green is not much. I can use the bilt as my dedicated travel card providing day, except MasterCard, which most places do except Costco that only except Visa. It feels good to have an actual spending limit only because of the fact that I wanna know how much I have available instead of having to check my spending power on the green, gold, platinum or centurion if you’re lucky enough to have the black card.

    The Bilt Card has been an absolute game changer for us, to be able to avoid ALL fees & earn valuable Bilt Points on all of our rent payments. Like you said, I absolutely love the Bilt travel upside with being able to utilize fantastic travel partners as well such as Hyatt, without having to pay AF like the CSP. Great video as always Chase!

    I know a guy who has the BILT card, the Fidelity 2% card, and the Amex Hilton Honors Card which covers every category he spends in, gives him degree of hotel status, no FTF, and access to a bunch of different Amex offers all for $0 in annual fees. Pretty hardcore. The BILT card might not be broken by itself but when paired with the right cards in a duo or trifecta, you'd never need to apply for anything else ever again.

    I would like to pair this card with the Wells Fargo autograph. I have to wait for my accounts to age and some inquiries to fall off before going for the autograph. I would have one travel card that’s a visa in the autograph and of course the Bilt that’s a MasterCard. And I know most UA-camrs compare the autograph to the green card on American Express except the green card has $150 annual fee with the clear and LoungeBuddy credits if you could justify them which I couldn’t. And both the. Bilt and autograph are no annual fee.

    Question though...don't chase sapphire cards give 1 point per 1$ spent already just like the BILT card? I'm confused at what makes the BILT better when it comes to paying rent, which everyone is saying most prime caveat?

    • @ChaseYokoyama
      @ChaseYokoyama  4 місяці тому

      The biggest reason is because you dont have to pay fees with the Bilt card. Where as with the CSP you usually have to pay a 2% - 3% fee. That fee outweighs the rewards you would get. It could make sense to pay rent and eat those fees if you are chasing a SUB

    I like the BILT card. But a few things about it are annoying. When I use it out of the US most times it asks for a PIN number. I don’t remember setting one up. So I end up using my CSP even when I’d like to use the BILT card. And BILT only lets you transfer a minimum of 2k points at a time to let’s say Hyatt. Unless you spend 15k a year on the Bilt then you can transfer a minimum of 1k points. I’m living in Thailand for the moment. I wish Bilt would qualify air bnb as my rent day benefit. Then I’d use the card more. It’s a great card. But it has some small annoying things that preclude me using it for my everyday spend given my personal situation. But it’s a pretty good card overall

    Chase is an entire ecosystem, cards/loans etc.. Unless Bilt adds mortgage or car loan payments, or sign on bonuses, I don’t see it’s appeal long term.
    Rent day promos - You don’t need the card.
    American Airlines transfer - Chase transfers to BA, which works great for domestic flights at least.
    Rent payments - You can pay with normal credit cards, it’s usually $50-150 extra.
    Let’s say you have a trip in a year or 2 that you’ need points for, I don’t see where this card slots in.
