The Bilt Mastercard UNBOXING Experience

- I just received my Bilt Mastercard® in the mail, and I’m super excited to unbox this card!
As rent is my highest single annual expense, I can’t wait to start using this card for rent payments and getting more value on this expense category.
This unboxing was one of the most satisfying ones I’ve ever done, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve done a lot of unboxings for other premium travel credit cards, and the packaging for this one was just exceptional.
This card is the second card in my new trifecta setup that I've been working on getting, and the Bilt Mastercard is an important part of that setup!
The Bilt Mastercard is a no annual fee credit card that lets you earn points on rent and more.
The card earns 3X points back on dining, 2X points back on travel, and 1X points back on everything else.
But what makes this card really cool is that it lets you earn 1X points back on rent up to 100,000 points each calendar year.
It’s also important to know that to get any points at all on this card, you need to use this card at least 5 times each statement period to earn points.
There are also monthly deals and other special events that you can take advantage of such as getting double points on what Bilt has called Rent day, where you get twice as many points on all purchases, except rent, of course.
And even for a no annual fee card, you get travel protections, trip delay reimbursement, primary auto rental collision damage waiver, and no foreign transaction fees.
Other benefits include cell phone protection up to $800 as well as purchase protection from damage and theft.

I love the look of this card and I'm stoked to add it to my setup myself! Thanks for sharing the experience with us Stan!! 👊🏼
Thanks Spencer! Yeah, I've been using this card much more than I expected, and it's definitely a premium feeling card in premium packaging for no annual fee, which I think a lot of other issuers should take a note of! The Bilt card is setting a new standard.
I easily hit the 5 transactions per statement by auto charging 4 bills to the card on the 1st for double points. 😊
Simple and automatic. Exactly how it should be done ✅!
You can also buy 5 packs of gum for at self check out
@@tendercrispbacon i used to do that but it got annoying. Setting up automatic payments is easier
Love your videos, congrats on your new card 🎉
Thanks so much! Appreciate it Keiran!
I’m just waiting for the Lady Gaga song Applause to play just once during these long form unboxings 😂.
Nice Stan, for sure is interesting to see your total revamp of your wallet coming to fruition, and it was great that you actually showed the mechanics of how Bilt pay by check actually works.
Great Stan!
Haha! You love that song so much (me too it's my favorite Gaga song)! Yeah, I'm pretty happy that my core credit card setup is coming together, but I'm missing a card for that third slot in my credit card setup (SUB card). Maybe I need to get that one next..
Absolutely love the Bilt Card and like you our highest annual expense is Rent, so being able to take advantage of that spend and leverage those points with Bilt's travel partners is awesome. Love that you are considering Aeroplan to transfer out those Bilt Points too- such a valuable & flexible airline transfer partner for international trips! Very cool packaging especially for a No AF Card as well! Great video Stan!
Thanks Matt! Yes, I have joined the Bilt family, and I'm looking forward to seeing where these rewards take me. I definitely need to learn more about transfer partners and getting some great redemption value through them since, I'll admit, it's one of my weak points. And yes, I also love the packaging for this card and wish more cards followed suit - especially the no annual fee cards!
Love the way the Bilt Card comes, now only if Capital One could take some notes on that.
Great addition to the collection Stan!
Absolutely, Eric! Yes, Capital One needs to step up their game. I mean - they're doing a good job, but they could be even better if they had nicer unboxings!
Thanks for the info + video!
You’re welcome Jimmy James!
I just applied and got approved for the bilt mastercard I cant wait to get it
Congrats on the new card Eric!!
I just got approved for the Bilt card! I’m so excited!
Congrats on the new card! 🎉🎉. Time to earn big points on rent and more!
Love the pulley box
Me too!
Awesome unboxing!
The closest I’ve gotten to a “premium” unboxing has been the Apple Card.
Can’t wait to get a Business (or personal) Platinum!
Love your content.
- Ivan.
Thanks Ivan! Yes, I heard that the Apple card has a nice unboxing as well. The Platinum card is one of my favorite unboxings!
Behind the Platinum cards, I think the Curve card has the nicest box
@@SledgeIncTeam Ooh, I've never seen the Curve card's box. I'll have to look into that one.
So glad they got contactless functionality finally.
For sure! 👍
Stan, when did you get BofA PR? I knew you had the PRE not too long ago but didn't know you had the PR
I still have the PR Elite! I do not have the PR yet, but plan on transitioning to that card once the annual fee hits on my PR Elite next year.
The Bilt MasterCard’s unboxing experience is by far leagues ahead of where it should be and makes it feel like you made an awesome choice. I’m happy that you joined team Bilt! Now I just need to get you over to team Chase…CSP has an elevated offer out I think 😂😅
Thanks CJ! Yeah, I loved the unboxing experience of the Bilt card. And for a no annual fee card, it's definitely very premium! As for Chase, I would definitely apply for more of their cards, but 5/24 is super annoying and makes that difficult! Having said that, I may be getting a new Chase card soon 👀
Elevated where?
@@MajorMartian I heard a rumor but didn’t investigate. Might have just been a rumor 😬
@@ItsMeCJhmm, well if it’s legit come back here and let us know! I’ve been waiting for a good offer
Another amazing tip to note is that the BILT card does 2X back on the first of every month for all transactions other than rent payment. So 1% rent, 2% catch-all and 6% on dining on the first of every month!
Yes, I do love the Rent Day promotion! Getting double rewards on one day a month is a great way for us to plan our spending ahead of time to maximize!
Which credit bureau does Bilt pulls from? also I’m trying to get a Amex platinum card, Should I wait on the Bilt and get the platinum first then get the Bilt after?
It depends on your location in the US as WF can pull from any of the 3 major bureaus. They pulled Transunion for me. As far as the Platinum vs. Bilt, I would apply for whichever card you want to get more first as you have the highest chance of getting that card to be approved, assuming the Platinum is your first Amex card and the Bilt is your first Wells Fargo card.
I'd grab the WF Bilt card first WF can be more sensitive to inquiries and new accounts. If you already have a Amex relationship they are not too concerned with inquiries, a Amex charge card is a easier approval in general less risk to Amex.
I hope you used my referral link 😂. Welcome to the BILT club.
Haha! There are so many of those floating around. I appreciate the warm welcome into the Bilt family!
A quick catch, Ritz Carlton is 28g (the heaviest)
My Ritz Carlton card is 12g, and I got it this year. Maybe you got one of the earlier versions that was weightier!
Which credit card do you think is the best-looking, best-designed, and feels best?
Regardless of credit card annual fees, rewards, card issuing companies, etc.
Ooh, that's a hard one! I'm not entirely sure since I haven't seen or felt every credit card that would make the short list, but out of the ones that I have the Amex Platinum still has the best look and feel IMO.
Can You still get rent points if You use the Card to purchase money order For the rent pay?
No, I don't think so.
The 5 transactions per month required to earn rents, does the rent transaction included in the 5 transactions?
Yes, the rent transaction does qualify! Not sure if it does if you use Bilt Protect though. Maybe someone who uses it can clarify?
@TheCreditFrog no I'm not using bilt protect. Hopefully it include rent as 1 transaction. Thanks.
@@theinternationalist1357yes ive had the card for a year now and rent counts as 1 of the 5 transactions
@@theinternationalist1357 Yeah, if you're not using Bilt Protect, it definitely will code as one of your transactions!
Doesn't the rent payment count as one transaction, so you just need four others per month?
Yes, that’s what I’ve heard!
Did you get 5x on everything for 5 days?
I sure did!

@@TheCreditFrog my dear, You can grow even more if you solve these.
Rent + 4 $5 Amazon gift cards purchases = WINNING…😂😂
A great way to do it! I typically use this card for my eating out purchases so I'm able to meet the 5 transaction requirement that way. I've also considering buying 5 individual bananas at the grocery store.
I have a mortgage and got this card because I just don’t care.
I like how you roll
I don't get the hype on this Bilt card. It fits such a small segment. If a landlord accepts CC's then ANY other "catchall" (e.g. Citi Double Cash) is better. Also, the fairly limited transfer and redemption options. For those that use the "mail my check" feature it certainly makes sense. Great vid though Stan. BofA for LIFE :)
There are better cards but no other rewards program brings the excitement and ingenuity like built does. They really value members and it shows. And the periodic transfer bonuses are great.
Bilt waives the credit card fee that every other credit card would incur paying for rent, that’s why it works. The double cash would actually lose you money since the fee is usually 3%.
@@Pm76664 that's assuming they charge a fee. Even still, you'll earn rewards on that fee as well.
@@CharlesHeitz Every service that allows you to pay for your rent besides bilt has a fee, the only other time you don't get charged is if the landlord accepts credit cards which is rare since they would be incurring the fee in that case. Also getting 2% on the fee still doesn't add up to 3% over all.
Your missing the main point of the card
Great unboxing and card Stan! That Bilt packs a 👊 for $0 with some great protections and transfer partners! Keep up the great work bro!🫵
Thank you César! Yes, this has been one of my main cards for this month, and I'm using it for dining out getting that 3X back (as well as 1X rent of course). I appreciate your support as always bro!!
Once you pay rent with bilt card, how many days it took to show paid rent? I’m using an app to pay rent that only accepts bank accounts.
I'm not sure since I don't pay rent that way, but I would imagine within 2-3 business days. I use the mail-by-check feature and the check gets to my landlord in about 5 business days.
@@TheCreditFrog I let u know. I get an email when is paid.
Wao, paid online and by 3 hours later got the email that account paid .
@smartwallet9367 that’s awesome! Thanks for the update!
