  • This video is an in-depth comparison of two of the most prestigious credit cards on the market: the Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Amex Platinum.
    Let's start by examining the Chase Sapphire Reserve benefits and credits. This card is renowned for its exceptional travel benefits, including generous rewards on travel and dining purchases, as well as access to over 1,000 airport lounges worldwide through the Priority Pass Select program. The Chase Sapphire Reserve also offers valuable travel credits, such as an annual $300 travel credit and reimbursement for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fees. Plus, with perks like trip cancellation/interruption insurance and primary rental car insurance, you can travel with peace of mind knowing you're protected.
    On the other hand, the Amex Platinum card, with its array of benefits and credits, is a powerhouse in its own right. With its premium perks and luxury benefits, it's a favorite among frequent travelers and high spenders. Cardholders enjoy access to exclusive Amex Centurion Lounges, as well as complimentary benefits like Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings, concierge services, and statement credits for travel expenses. Additionally, the Amex Platinum offers robust travel insurance coverage, including trip delay and baggage insurance, as well as purchase protections like extended warranty and return protection.
    When comparing the Amex Platinum vs. Chase Sapphire Reserve, it's essential to consider your travel preferences and spending habits. While both cards offer excellent benefits, they cater to different lifestyles.

    The Priority Pass Restaurant benefit on the Chase Sapphire Reserve will be REMOVED on July 1st, 2024.

      So a lot of people are looking at this as a bad thing, and that's understandable, although, it's been known for years that the priority pass benefit is pretty inconsistent depending on where you are. I wonder if this is a strategic move on Chase's part and that there may be a better alternative on the way? That's my theory at least.

    Great video as always. I think there’s a compelling reason to hold both for frequent travelers like myself. Both Cards offer credits that I already use plus the broad category of 3x on travel with CSR is very useful plus 3x on dining. The combined transfer partners of both banks is awesome. I already have the Platinum but I’ll either and the CSR or Ink Preferred this year.

      for sure. I know people with both cards and do fine. I like the reward multipliers of the CSR better. It's always a good idea to be a customer of those two issuers.

    This is the best critical look I have seen on UA-cam of the cards. I have the Disney bundle so did view it as a $240 value for AMEX. The airline credit is easy to use for me. The other credits had some but little value. To me, this card was about lounge access, gold with Hilton and then making up $245 net fee somewhere. If you are an “aspirational traveler” like many of the typical UA-cam credit guys, great, but with bad points multipliers, this is a card that too many people have for status. If you want Hilton Gold, get an AMEX Hilton Surpass card. It comes with gold status, easy statement credits to make it no cost or negative cost annual fee, and a free night after a $15K spend. I am looking at the Chase Sapphire Reserve. I like the multipliers and the $300 travel credit, making the $550 fee the same $250 net fee, but the multipliers are actually real. Did you mention the priority pass on Chase will no longer be giving the restaurant benefit?

    • @ChaseYokoyama
      @ChaseYokoyama  2 місяці тому

      I appreciate your comment 🙏🏽 I also agree that you can get status for certain things with other cards as well if you really wanted to. Unfortunately I only mentioned the Priority pass restaurant benefit being removed via text on screen. I will make a pinned comment right now to add more clarity.

      @@ChaseYokoyama I question for you if that is alright. It is just a thought here as I do not have the AMEX Platinum nor have I read up on this aspect of the card, but I was curious if you apply for the AMEX from there website as opposed to any other version of the card like the Charles Schwab version or what have you do you get double credit values on the free authorized user card for you and your free second card you share the same account with? For example there is one annual fee total for two users that are married and live together while not paying for any secondary additional members to be able to use the same account balance while both card users get $50 SAKS credit so there is a total of $200 SAKS credit between both users and the same goes for all the other credits that the card can offer like both users can get into the centurion lounge and so on and so forth? What are your thoughts on that may I ask?
