- Soloing the Cave Troll on Rogue in Dark and Darker. Very easy method, although I did have my trusty blue Rondel Dagger. If you're looking for guides on how to solo the boss with the default Rondel Dagger I'll link them below here:

Casual scrub (default kit solo #3) has made another video where he kills the troll in under 3 minute
definitely much faster
so if you don't have the patience go for that

I really like the loot highlight that you do where you have the loot info on the top left. Wish more people did that
I've been doing something similar, I think I can add a bit to this method
He'll never do the combo move if you move far enough away after the initial swing- wait for his arms to almost reach his side before going in and he'll always do the one swing.
It's possible to completely dodge the shout. If you move just out of range after he does a swing and he shouts, you can react to the shout animation/sound and quickly move to his side and the shout will miss and he won't do the follow up attack. From there it's easy to get 3 swings onto his arm.
Doing both these things consistently will reduce the amount of downtime spent not getting hits in and speed up the fight greatly

You can run at his melee range the second the slam hits then run away to bait the same righthand swing and he will never scream at you, slightly faster and a bit cozier than risking the scream

There's a method that's a little bit riskier but you can kill it in probably 1/4th the time. You can literally just sit at his knees and stab the entire time if you position correctly and you only need to avoid two attacks. If he does the leg lift charge up attack you just duck down and slightly to the right as far as possible and obviously if you see him grab both hands you just run away and back in and rinse repeat.

Does additional magic dmg do anything on rogue? Does it buff poison weapon dmg or no?
Did my first solo cave troll today thanks to this video. I tried with barb and ranger with same strat, but never had enough damage and the circle reached me before I killed him. Now I tried with same build and lvl 1 rogue and default gear and killed him in 2 tries

Can you make a video on how to avoid hits on all the common mobs as a rogue? Maybe with starter gear (or would you reccomend new rogues to just be naked) Im learning rogue and having a tough time with beetles, and goblin archers/skelly archers.
i believe if u hit him in the body, you will kill him faster, but i may be wrong

why do you prioritize being naked? is the negative movement speed from armor really that bad for rogue?
Yes and no. The armor from base rogue clothes doesn't add even a single hit extra of health vs pretty much anything except another rogue. The cave troll will 1 tap him. A normal sword is 2 max. Barbs will 1 tap.
Fireballs are magic damage.
Clerics judge then 1 tap.
Etc.
@@eon2330 tbh they gotta buff rogue armor speed penalties to actually make it viable, the only way you catch me in armor right now is if i found something that gives me extra move speed (or reduces the hit enough to be worth it)

which dagger type do you prefer Repoze? I've been rocking an epic castillon mostly in my high roller lobbies as I really like the animation, wondering if stilletto or rondel is better because of the speed leading to higher DPS
If you go counterclockwise you can hit him more consistently with backstab bonus dmg perk. default dagger and rupture gets it done before zone becomes a problem (depends zone wise). I just suck pvp and die with the troll loot :/
is it worth it to buy a pair of light foot boots for the extra movement speed?
i think that if u are going to risk losing a blue weapon you might might as well risk losing some boots because having some extra movement speed is going to help killing him

Ok I've actually COMPLETELY perfected the strat now. You can literally walk right up to him and sit by his right leg. If he does his back hand attack you do literally the same exact thing as his leg lift charge up attack. You just duck down and slightly to the right as far as possible and it will never hit you and his normal swipe attack will also never hit you. So you can literally just sit at his knees stabbing non stop except obviously when you need to dodge those two attacks and when he grabs with both hands for overhead smash. This is unquestionably the easiest and fastest possible way to kill him and will never fail unless you don't avoid the overhead.

nah its was before patch, i might try again with the default kit i think
The thing i hate on the game is the different floors on the Last ring. Sometimes u die bc the Last ring because not blue tótem appears in your floor, is stupid... i lost twice time a good equip loot bc of that and i unistaledthe game

Honestly the troll has way too much HP. He needs to lose like a third of it. It's just obnoxious. Good players who don't die should be able to clear it faster.

I guarantee that guy would have tried to kill him if he wasn't at one hit already, you can't take the chances as a Rogue where you die in a second if someone gets the jump on you

Hey repoze have you messed around with stiletto at all? I was watching a guy on twitch and he was stacked with purples and went around 1 shotting entire lobbies one after the other. He beat 3 man squads several times it was ridiculous. Was literally 1-2 shotting everyone and he was insanely fast even with full armor.
