i love how the miss = stam drain mechanic is so ingrained from melee slashers. we're all turning and hitting walls when we're about to miss a swing
I thought it was a power move lmao
It's for the animation. Whiffing a hit, especially with the felling axe has a long animation. But if you hit a wall when you know that you'll miss, the animation is shorter so you can swing again.

I also experienced the misfortune of being a newb and encountering Stouty in the wilds of dark and darker. Atleast my death was quick, and I suffered no mind games or betrayal.

@@PeterMurrayj I had a situation where I was as 2 and the enemies as well. We were both in the last room and I just said "let's just each take a portal. No need for blood" and because they didn't know how to talk they just crouch spammed.

@Artyom Shvets I get what you mean but currently in this game where mobility in combat is near zero, and most areas are claustrophobic, the class is way too easy to use. Any bot can just pop their abilities and walk at a team mashing the overhand at people. Yes the berserker should be tanky and a hard hitter, no the berserker should not be able to easily 1v3 in a lot of situations aside from the few large open rooms

I think fighter can get away with it thanks to sprint. Is it meta? No, but you can definitely make it work

How does he kill in 1-2 hits while enemy barbarians do like 15% of his health only? What am I missing here?
The players hitting low are fairly undergeared and also not delivering headshots.
big gear difference. Most of the people he fights are in greys/whites it looks like. Barbarian also has more HP max.
You notice him turning to the side sometimes. Arm hits do a lot less damage, so presenting that as the target is smart skilled damage mitigation.

ah a maul enjoyer, just remember to use the second alt attack for 1v1ing as you won't hit the walls and the overhead has much better body/arm damage as well as being easier to headshot with (they cant duck). The first normal swipe does poor damage however the consecutive swipes after do decent damage, especially at the sweet spot range so its better to walk away from people trying to get in your face

How do we even combat barbarians like this? They are doing piss all damage against him even when the whole team hits their shots
get some blue/green items and it's a different story
They're not good at hitting their shots, that's the problem. Locational damage is the difference between doing 0 damage and lowering somebody to half. The felling axe has a really good animation for hitting people in the head, but kind of shit range.
I will say that barb is kind of dominating this playtest, though. It's a refreshing change from the last one, where rangers and wizards destroyed everyone.
