It’s light brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts they’re smaller than they used to be they don’t even change the rapper they just give you two extra, don’t mess with the product!
“Shrinkflation” is real. Reynolds Wrap is doing this. I buy their nonstick aluminum foil and I noticed immediately when they started adding “42% more foil!” No… you just made it thinner. It’s a huge pain in the ass because I could reuse it for some items (e.g. baked French fries) and it’d last a lot longer than it does now. Now it also tears constantly even in single use, creates more waste (since I don’t think the foil is recyclable) and actually doesn’t last me as long.
It's amazing how tiny they are now.... lole so insanely tiny. I dont even buy them anymore.... I loved those eggs but it's like buying 40 cents of candy for over 1$
I prayed for years for Trix cereal to bring back the original shapes. The colored ball shaped puffs (similar to Kix cereal) were nowhere near as good! Then a year or two ago they brought back the Original Trix cereal in the fruit shapes!
I noticed this the year they did it, was like 2008 I think. Was pretty obvious. And I would have been fine with it except they charged the exact same price and they shrank by over a third.
Shrinkflation... companies reduce the size of the products so they can keep the same price... it is a warning about inflation. The worse is that after some time the price price goes up anyways because of the root problem (inflation)
Sometimes that true and sometimes it's what they want you to believe. They also leave the packaging the same size and put less product in it. THE PACKAGING COSTS MORE THAN THE FUCKING PRODUCT!
It really is insulting the way they try sneak this stuff by us and think we won't notice. Just raise the price!!! The over packaging of stuff to make it look bigger is out of control as well. Don't be a business that sells chocolate if you're concerned about the price of chocolate
Cadbury reps: they're the same egg! (with Pam's voice)
Not only have they gotten smaller but the filling has changed well in Australia it has its not runny anymore
I noticed this over the years; Cadbury eggs have definitely gone down hill since my youth.
No you've just gotten bigger
@@evanbrown3907 what do they have to say about the filling being disgusting now?
Yep the board wants bigger yachts, pay workers less and convince their customers to pay more for less product. They've successfully convinced the stupidest of the country the problem is paying people a living wage.
I boycotted Cadbury’s cream eggs along time ago, hate corporate company’s they ruin everything in the name of profit margins.
*companies
They hurt my teeth..the real ones I have left
Remember when ice cream came in half gallons? Now the standard is 1.5 quarts and we just stood by and whined a little.
Had the same experience in Germany too. Langnese ice cream boxed were 1 liter originally. Then they went down to 900ml and now they're at 850ml. It's such a scam.
No one needs a half gallon of ice cream
That's why Blue Bell Advertises "Still a half gallon" on their trucks. They aren't as big since the listeria shut down but are making a come back.
@@Enigma89 is people like you who started the issue. Regardless of size most is the big factor. Your paying for less. You really are getting screwed regardless if you need it or not.
@@Enigma89 Imagine being so sad and desperately alone you don't even realize families exist.
then Kraft bought Cadbury and now the chocolate tastes like rotten eggs 🥚
Mondelez spun off from Kraft and it's navigating at 57.74 and pays a handsome dividend by keeping the eggs small.
are you european? it might the crap they put into American chocolate that tastes horrible to ppl outside the us (well and me too lol, i hate hersheys)
@@jubjuber1 They don't care enough to buy good ingredients. They stay with the cheap stuff because that makes them more profits.
I am american and always taste the shift in ingredients it happens too often to candy, chocolate, even fast food restaurants. It sucks because it robs of nostalgia.
At least we still have candy shops with the imported stuff though.
@@dexteroreo3392 imported chocolate is the best.
@@annechristmas5796 I actually got a huge piece to save the other day. The first bite cured my stomachache while giving me a nostalgic feel aha
Why don’t the company’s just be honest , keep the product the same size but put the price up....at least then we know why....shrinkage is just deceit , lies , and bad business
They would lose money this way, because it is honest way
@@Sbayo9 lol no they wont
They should update this video they’d probably be half the size now
Conan is so good at repeating exactly what his guests said as filler for their conversation
Conan was annoying the hell out of me with that. I'm sitting here like, "Can you let the man get to his fucking point!?"
I think the idea is that he's restating something that he thinks the guest didn't explain well enough or that the audience might've missed, but yeah it's annoying
Are you saying that Conan repeats what a guest says as a way to fill time and extend the conversation???
Not only repeating it, but ALWAYS DOING SO VERY LOUDLY.
I miss consumerist, they had the grocery shrink ray feature, where they told you about this nonsense, and exactly how much was cut. Generally they'd cut 1-2 ounces at a time, thinking they were sneaky.
i can't remember what this guys name was. But in the description it says, "BJ's bit about Cadburys Eggs."... So I thought. "I'll just google BJ, I'm sure it'll come up with something.".... It took me at least 30 minutes to realise I wasn't going to find him.
good 30 minutes though
Kingsize candy bars use to be a full bar. Now they're two separate bars with a gap in the middle.
Yes noticed this. Started happening when Cadburys was bought by a US company.
They also changed the "yolk" part of the filling. It used to be a more runny consistency than the fondant, with a honey colour. Now it's just a dyed orange bit of the fondant. I asked the hotline about the change and they totally gaslit me telling me there was no change. When I said I had one in front of me and was looking at the differences they continued to insist there wasn't one. Bizarre.
I don't remember searching for this and have no idea how I got here.
It's called shrinkflation this also happens for example in chewing gum where you open a packet and there's a slot missing.
Kraft have destroyed traditional Cadbury's Bournville chocolate. Thanks Kraft. :|
Kraft has ruined so many brands over the years.
Lower quality, more slavery!
2:04 "WHAT DOES CADBURY THINK THEY'RE PULLING-eeeaaeeugh" - Conan O'Brien, 2007
No one ever talks about this in public facing media anymore. We live in a society.
2:05 was the funny part
10 years after this upload its gotten even smaller. No wonder people don't buy them anymore.
New (smaller*) package, same great taste (and cost*)
I bought a variety pack of chips the other day the one with the mini bags I open a Dorito packet and it had legit 6-7 chips inside they use to fill the whole bag
what is the weight on each of the packages?
Happy Easter, never forget
2.05 what do cadbury think they are pulling EUUUYYY
lmao yes
People need to STOP BUYING THE PRODUCTS that do this otherwise you're only validating the company's decision to squeeze further.
We need someone to do this with a Curly Wurly. Or a Wagon Wheel.
"I bet they weren't expecting this"
HoW did he make that moment ??
It was so normal yet so great
I wish I was strong enough to say I would never buy them again!!
Looking at YOU, Cadbury. THIS is why I don't buy your garbage any more.
Same with BloPops. The “normal”size now use to be the size produced for Halloween.
Hell yeah stick it to the man.
If the man was in sticking range we would , unfortunately the man/men are all off on their private islands and yachts, whilst we eat the shit they throw us.
Toblerone pack haven't gotten smaller, but the space/gab between each triangle has gotten bigger. So you get less overall chocolate.
I just found this video while eating a Crunch chocolate bar and I'm pretty sure they too did change something bc i feel they have reduced the amount of puffed rice.... I remember being more crunchy while i was a kid, now it's just mostly chocolate
What does Cadbury think they're doing? It's not Cadbury, this is Kraft fucking shit up.
..making more money :(
Make Cadbury Eggs Big Again! MCEBA!
Cadbury CEO was punching the air during this 🤣
Orange juice use to come in 64 oz cartons. Its now packaged to hold 52 oz of juice. Same price, less product - total ripoff.
Same price? It's almost DOUBLE! The only place you can find OJ for an affordable price is Aldi.
While there are economic reasons for shrinking the size, I think its reprehensible that they lied about it. Just be honest and consumers might be disappointed but understanding. Dishonesty, though...
Heres looking at you, American Cookie company. 👀The double doozie cookies used to be the size of a small plate. Now they're size of the bottom of a coffee cup...AND the price keeps rising.
Same with the Whopper from Burger King, it used to be wicked big!
I for one, will not let this go.
Did Cadbury ever say anything about it?
I nearly lost it when he said *”judge for yourself, america”*
But for realness, shrink-flation was screwing around with our food during the late 2000’s and it’s only gotten worse now 😅
What about theyr weight? It it the same or not?
dont they have to tell you how many grams they are or something?
BigMac anyone? 90s BigMac were gigantic compared to today's. McDonalds say they're the same size, and we could have perceived them as larger if we were kids during 90s...idk
Same thing happened to Cadbury bar's they used to be much more bigger
Everyone has been doing this for decades and decades. Not only is everything half as big, or smaller, it's also far more expensive. Candy, fast food, snacks, anything in the same vein as little debby items... all of it
It’s light brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts they’re smaller than they used to be they don’t even change the rapper they just give you two extra, don’t mess with the product!
Why didn't anyone look at the weight on the egg?
That could just mean it's filled with more Chocolate that's heavier than the cream. Could be the same weight but be smaller
So Ryan finally found his way into stardom again, I guess!
This was uploaded in 2010. It is now 2020.
This is my experience with nearly all cadbury products.
Wow I didn't know this was going on. I dont usually buy sweets but this is on a new level public scamming system
It's amazing how tiny they are now.... lole so insanely tiny. I dont even buy them anymore.... I loved those eggs but it's like buying 40 cents of candy for over 1$
All of the sweets I enjoyed as a child have been shrunk during the years.
They get cadbury products in USA?
It's not real Cabury. It comes from Hersey, which has the license in the US. Total crap compared to even Canadian Cadbury products.
i wanna know what date this aired?
Armor All [car finish product] did the same thing years ago.
It's crazy that the title references 2007
This interview happened in 2007
Sometimes conan just needs to let the guest talk. Keeps trying to cut in with some annoying quick crack
I want to see BJ Novak, Sam Harris, and Ben Stiller do a podcast together
That might be incredibly entertaining.
The yolk is on you, Cadbury.
Cadbury chocolate sux since they changed the recipe. It now tastes artificial and leaves an odd aftertaste. Thanks Mondelez /s
That’s how I feel about Butterfinger. Used to be my fav chocolate bar but I can’t stand them now ):
I wonder how big they are now?
It's at least 30% smaller.
anyone know the year this video is from?
2007 I think
I prayed for years for Trix cereal to bring back the original shapes. The colored ball shaped puffs (similar to Kix cereal) were nowhere near as good! Then a year or two ago they brought back the Original Trix cereal in the fruit shapes!
What's the show? I like the host guy.
And yet we keep getting fatter...
So....it's treason then...
I smell a class action lawsuit.
I noticed this the year they did it, was like 2008 I think. Was pretty obvious. And I would have been fine with it except they charged the exact same price and they shrank by over a third.
They don't drop the price either. Shrinkflation bastards!
Cadberry don’t mess with the product!
National treasure
Tomorrow; everyone buys all the eggs
It really is insulting the way they try sneak this stuff by us and think we won't notice. Just raise the price!!! The over packaging of stuff to make it look bigger is out of control as well. I used to love Toblerone bars but I have not bought one since they made the valleys bigger between the mountains. many other things I don't buy anymore out of spite. I`m healthier for it.
Why the hell are we acting like were shocked this is literally done forever since the beginning of time YOUR favorite products cycle every few months with quantity and packaging to make you buy less for more
Yeah! Bust up the chocolate egg industry!! Those scoundrels.
