Can I please ask...
Any idea why the manual release would be extremely difficult. I turn the key and then I have to pull with real force, then when it does release the gate even moves a bit... Maybe like 5cm. I tried removing the top screw and putting some oil into the gearbox hole but I only had a big funnel so I made more of a mess than actually getting oil in 🤦🏽♂️
Thank you for the comment, there could be just be some much by the pin at the end of the door making the pin difficult to push in when you open the door, it's normally a sign of oil getting out. You should not need to ever put oil in the motor but if it's leaking you can top up, the repair process is to replace the base, which can be purchased as a whole, the manufacturer does not service the base any longer and replaces the unit as a whole, if that is the only issue with the motor I would leave it alone until you can have it repaired and depending on the age maybe even replace the inner motor at the same time

I want to set my gate limit to shorter than than the actual rail/runway distance. My gate is old with no sensors. When it is running the limit settings I try to manually stop it at the distance i want but it gives a couple of beeps and then wont run back to the closed position to complete the setting. Please advise if you can
Thank you for the comment Elisha, on an Et motor especially the et500 motor, the limita is the most important part in the system, the gate will not stop until it reaches those magnet limits, even after the setup is complete, you can purchase the limits seperate. If your in the Cape Town area, pop in at Rsec Security Equipment Center. They will sell you a limit actuator kit

Thanks for the videos, usually this works, but today, after doing the first few steps, of locking gate in middle, placing the 'rubber' on the two pins to set in programme mode. Gate closes first but there the simple just doesn't not set. There are multiple beeps. Have tried a few times now. Any advise?
Thank you for the comment, if 15 beeps is motor fault, but it can be a sticky relay on the board, if you turn the motor wires around to make it open first, check if it moves, if not then the relay faulty

Good Morning. May you please assist me when you have a moment. I need guidance. I have a ET 500 12V Domestic Sliding Gate Motor . Since Eskom load shedding got worst, my gate suddenly don't want to open and i have to manually open and close which is frustrating as i have to watch the dogs when coming out and closing the gate. When i press the button to open, it just beeps 3 times and open for 2 seconds then stops. When i manually open it and close the lock cover, then i press the button, the the gate closes but EXTREMELY SLOW . Can you guide me to may reset it to close normally again please. Awaiting you soonest response.
Hi Blaize, the 3 beeps is an indicator that the the motor has no AC power going to the board. Please check bottom left, next to the relays if the AC led is on on the board. If not you have to check the 16VAC transformer, it might be blown. That will also cause the battery to be dead and the gate to not open or close fully. Hi,my gate upon setting the limits opens fisrt,therefore I need to chance my motor ways around as told by you,can you please explain how it needs to be done as I believe my gate in the close position,is open according to the PCB,therefore shortening my crawl distance wound be done properly or am I'm getting it wrong,please advise,Thanks again for the helpful video and information
Thank you for the comment Nolan, there is 2x motor wires, blue and black.
Connected to motor + and - switch them around, ie the blue and black wires.
Nice video. Quick question. When setting the crawl setting must the gate be locked in the middle or in closed/open position?
After, what I think, setting the limits. I tried setting the crawl, middle open and fully closed, it goes back and forth then it just long beeps and I turned no. 4 off and took the jumper off. My gate still doesn't slow down before fully opening and closing :(
Thank you for the comment, without trying the crawl, if it goes straight for the end-stop, there is a FET behind the motor fuse that could be blown, PCB will need repair
My 25A fuse did blow, I changed it with a 20A (only one I could get at the time) since then it's not being able to crawl, just fast stop.
@@Novanod the FET is the first thing to go when the gate has a "collision", which blows the motor fuse
Please assist once i open my gate it opens than its starts crawling very slow alomst at full open how do i remve the crawling on my gate must i jst reset the limits like in the video its an et 500
In the closed position, put the 4 dip switch to on, put the Progj jumper on, press set button 1x, the gate will pause but then open and close, it will buzz when complete, remove Progj, turn dip switch 4 to off. The crawl distance will be less ne, you cannot turn it off
Hi. Great video. Would you please help me with my motor? I've programmed the limits sets and learn remote but after all it only open just a little bit for pedestrians and not for TRG full open as I learn remote.
Thank you for the comment, when you press the set button, does the gate do the same? There is a pot next to the white and brown wires on the board, turn it clockwise all the way and try again. If the problem persist then you have to turn your focus on the gate.

I have the same problem, my gate only opens pedestrain mode. I don't know how to make it open all the way. I also tried your suggestion and it didn't work
@@zalisile hi, please check the sensitivity pod next to the RX led, make sure to turn it to the right. If the gate always stops at the same place and you have replaced the battery, the gate wheels could be your problem. If you have an alarm system, take the alarm battery and see if the gate goes past the pedestrian point this time. If yes, please get a new battery.
Hey nick, hoping you can help, I have replaced the battery but since doing so the gate does not open or close beeps sometime but otherwise I just see the st led blinking, also the moss 13+ led is red any advice?

Where the wires go, there is 3 different connector blocks, the motor side, left, the AC side, middle and the right hand side, with aux and common, remove the 8 pin
You will see written, com and Ped
Take a screwdriver and carefully touch com and Ped for 5-8second, the card should beep, then you done
Hi Nick ,while setting the gate limits as per your video after putting the jumper, prog j ,pressing and releasing the button ,the gate closes then stops and starts beeping then stops but does not open, bear in mind its an old controller pcb
Thank you for the comment, does the closed limit light turn on when reaching the end, normally it does that beeping when it cannot find the magnet at the end of a run... Turn the motor to manual, then close all the way... Look for the brown and white wires and see if the LC led is lit, then open all the way and check for the LO led
Hey brother thanks for the informative guides. My gate motor beeps 3 times consistently but the beep comes from the sensor against the wall. The AC light and RX light stays on. Can you advise me what the consistent 3 beeping problem could be?

@nicksandtricks1849 yes there's 3 consistent beeps coming from the beam. I used a fresh battery but the beeping doesn't stop. The gate opens and closes fine. Thought it could be holiday locked with those 3 beeps..

The only thing I can think of is if you have semi wireless beams (photon beam). That beam will beep when the batteries are low
Hi , the pc board I purchased this morning does not go into programming mode when I put the jumper on the prog j pins?
Hi Vasilios, please make sure the door release is plugged in and the door is closed, this will turn the card on

I followed everything you explained and still nothing. My old card goes into programming mode but still doesn't work on ac .
New card doesn't go into programming mode

Thank you for the comment Tlale, is the gate heavy in 1 direction over the other? If so, on the pcb is a pod, next to the 3learning pins, turn it clockwise all the way

Apologies for late response, can you put the gate in manual release and open it, check on the board where the White and Brown 2wire connectors is, is the led that says LO on, then close the gate and check if the led that says LC is on, if one of them is not on then please check the magnets, if they come on, try and run the limits with a fresh battery

Hi, awesome video. I have the green ET motor and it randomly doesn't open and then randomly it will be fine again. Do you have any ideas what i can try please? There are no beeping sounds it just doesnt respond when trying to open
Battery was replaced within the last few months.
Thank you for the comment, if it does this after not being used it can only be dry joints on the pc board, it will work fine after about 5 minutes, if you have a third party receiver tho it can be the receiver as well, see what happens when you open and close the gate 4-5 times in a row... This is when pc board gets hot, then if you leave it for 5 minutes it will work again

What's interesting is it did it tonight after one open and close if that makes sense. Then it wouldn't open again within a few mins. I tried with my wife's remote and also nothing.
I'll give it a try in the morning as you've suggested.
Out of interest if it's dry joints as you pointed out, what is the fix for that?
@@tejasgihwala1313 dry joints is where the solder gets hot and the gap between solder and the pin is too great for the signal to pass, or a crack on the solder joint that get exaggerated when the board heats up. so you can resolder the tracks which connects to the relays or it could be a bad or faulty relay as well, sending the board in for repair, if no insect damage is visible, can sort out the issue also.

Hi, I did not go through it in the video, dipswitch 2 on, puts the card in condominium/free exit mode. The motor will open all the way without stop and autoclose after beam interuption

Hi Nick great video, Please advise. My gate opens and will not close sporatically. It beeps but remains open. When I wait a few minutes it closes after pressing the remote.

Put the Progj jumper on while gate in closed position, turn dip switch 4 to the on position, press the set button. The gate will pause and then start opening, then it will close and beep, remove Progj and turn dip switch 4 to the off position.
It does not make the gate faster but it will make the ramp down distance shorter.

The pod by the AC circuit is to adjust the DC charge voltage to the battery, not to be adjusted.

Hi thanks for the helpful videos.. I've tried setting my motor after watching this video..but it only moves about half a metre then beeps 20 times exact..I've changed the battery and limit senses but still can't the motor function..can you please assist me
Thank you for your comment Kyle, the 20 beeps is the hall effect sensor not being seen by the rev counter... The magnet on the inner motor does not see the little nob on the board next to it. If you turn the magnet, on the board there is a led called enc, the light should go on and off when u turn it. If not let me know.

Good day Angelique, it sounds as if the gearbox is the issue, ehat was the reason for replacing the PCB?
If you see oil anywhere, you should have the Base looked at.

The gate just wouldn't open properly anymore.Initiallybwe thought it was due to loadshedding.Replaced the battery.when this didn't work we had the pcb looked at.It was advised that replacement of the board is needed and thats what we did,but we can't get limits set.
It would appear to be either the inner motor or gearbox if the battery and pcb did not fix the problem

Hi Nick I have an ET 500 motor. When opening, it works perfectly but at times when I press the remote to close, it just beeps once but doesn't do anything. Sometimes it doesn't even beep at all and nothing happens when I try to close it. After about 10 minutes it will close perfectly again. PLEASE HELP 😭
Thank you for the comment Craig, does it happen when it's hot outside or just randomly? If it only occur when it's hot or when the motor has been opened a few times it can be dry joints on the control card
Hi. My E.T motor randomly opens my gate without pressing the remote. Ive added a new battery but it still does the same. Could it be the motherboard? Its the same as the one in the video. E.t 500
Thank you for the comment Shaun, if you have a standalone receiver, then it could be at fault, if you tried adding a remote lately, it could be a neighbours remote opening your gate

Good day Rooshev, thank you for the comment. You can only make it shorter.while the gate is in the closed position, take the cover off and put the Progj jumper on. Turn on dip switch 4. Press the set button. The gate will pause and then open and close, and beep. Remove Progj jumper and turn dip switch 4 to the off position. The crawl distance will now be shorter and the gate should operate faster. Please like share and subscribe

Good day Zandile, thank you for the comment, after it does the long beeps, then the 5 beeps, did you try opening it again? Normally after a full restart the board can sometimes do that and the work correct after the 5 beeps

And this is immediately after the battery change. It's been off for about 4 days now till I got the battery. Does the battery maybe need to charge first?. 🤔 . I'm so confused. I thought the battery change would help. Really appreciate your help
@@elidnazmom can you check if the AC light is on, also there is a dial next to the white and brown cables, turn it to the right hand side half turn
Im going to open the box again and try to find a light. But the gate now is only beeping once but still won't open.

Thank you for your comment Tian, please check if both the LC and LO lights turn on, your opening magnet or switch could be faculty. The brown and white wires, has markings and a led, please check that
@nicksandtricks1849 Thank you Nick, I've taken out the LO and LC magnets and gave them a good clean. Both are working and when pressing the red button on the card it beeps two times and then closes, same to open. Will run the setup now to see if all is in working order. Will let you know.

@@tianvanwyk9678 when the card does the beeps it means there is a AC power issue, check if the AC led bottom left behind the heatsink is always on, if not, check the AC transformer
