First off, great video! I rarely see a well-presented video about spies made by a non-spy player. Aside from that, the reason why you seemed to struggle with the ghost stab (most spy mains actually call it the reverse stairstab) is because you tried to pull it on people who would otherwise be tricked by a normal stairstab (so only try it on unusual-hatters) Personally speaking, I only go for it on enemy players who already anticipate a jumpstab from me. The way you could’ve “forced” this one is making it painfully obvious to whoever you attempt it on (standing on the incline, kinda AD-ing around)

Using a ctap to get a stab. 1. get on top of someone's head 2. tap crouch 3. as you're coming up from crouching, hit jump and stab at almost the same time (same motion as ctapping on soldier) The result should be that you have gotten the stab and jumped off of their head at the same time. 4. use that jump to land on a different player and overhead stab them Also try out the tele stab: 1. find a teleporter 2. get an enemy to engage you near the teleporter 3. trick them into getting close enough that you can jump off the teleporter and land on their head 4. go for the most applicable variant of an overhead stab in that moment --- About naming conventions. It's pretty fast and loose. Most of the time it's assumed that you've already tricked the target player in some way already so most stabs are named with the method used to get the stab (surfing into the stab, dropping into the stab, stabbing from underneath, etc.) then just "stab" (surf stab, drop stab, under stab, etc.) as opposed to naming it after the method used to deceive (in a different world the matador could be called the "made-you-look stab"). I think the reason why we end up with a lot more names for stabs than we need is to give a better idea of what happened when describing them. Stair stabs, incline stabs, prop stabs, and tele stabs are all overhead stabs whose names are made more specific to better describe what's happening. There's also something a bit more special about hitting a tele stab or incline stab than a stair stab. Prop stabs using obscure props are really cool too, see a lot of those in old slurgi and stabby videos.

great job on the circlestrafes, HOWEVER, there are many more levels of circle strafing out there than the one you demnstrated, take 15:59 as an example. He was moving in two certain directions, being that, it is a level 3. to do this predict their next location, it all goes up to level 4, which in a short term would be like a backpedal stab. level 2 is when someone moves vertically, W and S, you'd have to matador them when they go moving with W, demoknights are a great example with level 2, W, swing, S and repeat. Hope this helps!
My best understab was when I failed to jump backwards on the harvest staircase, fell into the little hole next to the stairs, under a medic who then jumped on top of my head and then I ghost stabbed him while crouched under his feet. It was hilarious
Circle strafe stabs are more used against multiple people trying to melee you. It ends up having them swing when youre not in range (in the circle) and then you strafing straight to their back. Idk wth that last one is but just call it a dang surf stab like what. Matadors are the easiest/most frequently used (for me atleast)
Circle stabs are so much easier if you type "+left" in the console. I once circle stabbed 3 scouts in a row doing this. Also soldiers only register backstabs half of the time so never feel bad messing up a simple soldier backstab.
What this video taught me is that there is a total of three trickstabs: The Stairstab, the Matador Stab and the Breast Milk Stab. Every other stab was just one of those with a new name and nothing else changed.
I mean, circle strafe has 4 levels(that one was level 1) and the reverse matador isn't exactly how you did it(since it's literally going left right and turning behind) BUT, you did great overall so i don't mind it! Good job!
There is only one trickstab - "latency stab" or "netcode stab" if you prefer. Target's reaction time is padded out by latency on both sides, valve's spaghetti and possibly by bad fps on victims end and possibly custom network config on spy's end.

My best understab was when I failed to jump backwards on the harvest staircase, fell into the little hole next to the stairs, under a medic who then jumped on top of my head and then I ghost stabbed him while crouched under his feet. It was hilarious
18:16 i thought it's gonna be epic. But i think i change my mind...
The Jerma and Star reference literally made my whole month better thanks man
That explains why your name was “Breast Milk stabber” on steam
indeed >:)
Love that jerma pirate spy, love the og TF2 UA-camrs, such nostalgia
Homer Simpson when he stubs his toe 1:39

Circle strafe stabs are more used against multiple people trying to melee you.
It ends up having them swing when youre not in range (in the circle) and then you strafing straight to their back.
Idk wth that last one is but just call it a dang surf stab like what.
Matadors are the easiest/most frequently used (for me atleast)
4:51 trickshoot moment
Came for the trickstabs, stayed for the crisp Amby shots.
4:12 homer
Circle stabs are so much easier if you type "+left" in the console. I once circle stabbed 3 scouts in a row doing this. Also soldiers only register backstabs half of the time so never feel bad messing up a simple soldier backstab.
0:43 what
I have found the hardest stab: the sex stab
But no spy main will ever be able to pull it off
1:00 b4nny?
(allegedly)
4:53 ok the aim on that amby went HARD you were suddenly possessed by all the spirits of gunspies past
What this video taught me is that there is a total of three trickstabs: The Stairstab, the Matador Stab and the Breast Milk Stab.
Every other stab was just one of those with a new name and nothing else changed.
1:39 homer moment
*”um actually as a professional spy main there are 928384927743927190 trick stabs 👆🤓”*
lolll the end cracked me up so much. Love tf2 videos, subscribed!
So that’s how scout got his mad milk. 0:46
Man the nostalgia that rushed through me with that jerma clip, I watched the pirate spy vid the day it released...
You gotta love when the hardest stabs happen on the pyros.
0:52 man sent me back several years with this bro.
love how for drop stab he just went straight for surf stabbing
Technically inf you can name a very specific set of input a trickstab
SeaRavioli : I'm gonna hit evrey trick stab that exist !
Me : you guys can hit trick stabs ?
This guy needs more subs with his quality content
When he was disguising as a Sniper during the Understab section, every smart Trolldier would know he’s a spy because he’s holding a melee out
me looking the video :the best video of training trickstab
me looking the time of the video: wait what
This guy is just lazypurple but actually uploads. Love the content man
these demonstrations convey what trickstabbing is better than all of the content trying to teach it
Spy mains trying to explain why is more important giving names to different backstabs instead of touching grass
Sea ravioli has to be the best new tf2 ytber
:)
pirate spy is an iconic part of my childhood
10:33 most intellectual confrontation between a spy and an engineer
Ayo man, I'd like to see more of that halloween pumkin drop stab. Should be its own video before halloween ends!!
10/10 video such great execution with nice editing
i couldnt find a name for it, but i did a trickstab underwater. i will call it the AquaShank
What's with all the new and trending TF2 guys being spy mains?, not complaining. As a heavy main I love to learn the French ways.
I mean, circle strafe has 4 levels(that one was level 1) and the reverse matador isn't exactly how you did it(since it's literally going left right and turning behind) BUT, you did great overall so i don't mind it! Good job!
1:30, oh my gosh, thats me, no way, its been a dream of mine to be in a video
mom, get the camera, im in a video
LETS GOO
4:30 that pyro had some balls
There is only one trickstab - "latency stab" or "netcode stab" if you prefer. Target's reaction time is padded out by latency on both sides, valve's spaghetti and possibly by bad fps on victims end and possibly custom network config on spy's end.
“demoman hurt a bit” “medic teleported nearby” xd
circle strafe is used against players that counter your matador movements by strafing to keep you in front of them.
Ahh yes famous quote of ‘there’s not much great heights ON UPWARD
1:29 Spy mains when you stand completely still (they are on the brink of insanity)
“Authentic breast milk” and “breast milk gods” had me dying. 😂😂😂
the first clip was legit about to be the best spy trickstab of all time.
As a Medic main, I loooove seeing cocky spies getting their due justice.
4:50 shout out to one of the rawest spy clips that exists
The dropstab part was basically "We have Trolldier at home."
the scientific classification of 'shallow' is any angle that is 45 or less degrees, so the stab at 18:30 is a BM stab
