Internet is full of talented people! I watch my favorite crafts (crochet, jewelrymaking and journaling) and I also watch crafts that I dont do like sewing, love to see the process from idea to the finished garment. Paintings and nature is a great inspiration. I have several totebags with ready-to-take-with -me when I go to other palces and I always have a crochet in the car while my husband is driving.
Im 45, so in the middle with you, and i am loving all these 20 something girls out here who have been crocheting for not very long, and they are just making stuff however they want! I love working without patterns, and im finding it very inspirational to see these girls just winging it, making up their own patterns and figuring stuff out. Thanks for another great video!
A couple of years ago I had lost my crojo in the spring. It felt weird to just have stopped crocheting like I hit a brick wall. I thought that’s it? I’m done with crochet? I was even considering getting rid of all my crochet stuff for many months. I decided not to make a hasty decision. I started watching videos on colouring and bought coloured pencils and colouring books. I did that for many months. Then one day I was inspired by a crochet video and started up again.
My mother was a quilter. As a crocheter, I'm now getting inspired by quilts. I want to do crochet versions of some of the traditional quilt patterns, especially quilts my mom made.
I keep emotional Support Craft bags/kits, so that wherever I am (Doctors waiting room, waiting anywhere really), I have something to work on. I have to periodically inventory them. Make sure that whatever it is, I'm still interested in it, be it sewing, crochet, books, etc. Sewing isn't as mobile as Crochet, so I have at least two Crochet WIP bags going at all times. Taking a break to refill your creativity reservoir is also very important, you touched on it in this video. If your running on empty you aren't going to have anything to give, like when you mentioned coming home after working. As I'm a spoonie I really have to meter out those spoons. Along the same lines, getting proper rest is so important to being creative.
I am feeling this right now. I worked to get some granny square pin cushion done, and I was going to give them to my mil to sell at something she was going to. She had once told me if I just put fiber fill in it that it would be fine, so since I forgot to grab some crushed walnuts from her, i just did the fiber fill. I told my husband that if these sell, even for a tiny amount, it would make me feel good about myself. I sent them with my husband the day she was supposed to go to her event and we told her if was just fiber fill and she starts talking about undoing them so she can fill it the way she wanted to. He didn't get them to her in time to take them with her but it still hurt. She doesn't crochet she quilts.
As soon as you said be careful of the content you are consuming I knew that was what has caused me to slow down a bit lately. Wonderful ideas here, thank you 🙏 I'm a millenial and I learned how to knit and crochet from my mom and grandmother. I watch people older than me and younger than me. I love vintage patterns but also love watching people younger generations that came after mine do things I would never have thought of. I think everyone can learn from each other no matter what age they are.
I love your hat!!! ♥ you are so right, seeing negative things and all that runs a person down a lot . The little things can either bring you down or up lift you . One must always be mindful of what is being absorbed in your well being.
Hi Shannon. Loved your video. And thank you so much for encouraging me to start a channel. It will be premiering tomorrow morning… ( i gave you a shout out )! Thanks
So many great perspectives as usual, Shannon! And congrats on 10K! (I'm playing catch up on some of your videos - it's been a whirlwind around these parts.) Can't wait to hear all about your adventure at the fiber festival!
Hi Shannon! Great video! I was just thinking recently how I need to schedule time to be creative since life can get in the way. I took the next two days off of work for my birthday and plan to take some time to find a new crochet and/or knit project to work on 😊
I have currently lost my crojo. I've been dealing with a chronic illness that no one can put a name too so it's just been rough getting through the days.

I totally agree, that’s so awesome!

Right!?! I couldn’t agree more!

@ I’m glad to share. Hopefully someone will be inspired and encouraged that it’s ok to do something else for awhile until the crojo comes back.

@ that would be interesting to see how it turns out. I think that would be complimentary to your mom.
That sounds super cool!

Very well said June! Great advice and something important to keep in mind ❤️

Oh no, that’s a terrible experience! I bet you pin cushions are cute!
I’m dealing with loss of CroJo right now 😢
Oh nooo! Hopefully you will come out of it soon!! 🫶🏻
@ thank you and thank you for your channel
Wishing I could send you some of the inspiration that I have no time to action! Small children - great for project ideas, detrimental to progress.
You’re very welcome
You are my inspiration. Thanks Shannon. ❤
Thank you 😊

So true!
Got some really beautiful yarn from Hobbii from Denmark. They were having a free shipping sale. They have some lovely deep jewel tone colors.
great find, I love jewel tones!
I have been making prayer shawls. It's so satisfying when it's done. It gets so big! I enjoyed this video. 😊❤
That's such a wonderful thing to be creating!
Hi Shannon, I’m so happy to have found your channel 😁😁
Welcome!! I’m so glad you’re here! 😃

I think you are going to evolve into such a multi-medium artist, Shannon! I love how you’re open to every possibility❤
Thanks Vicki! I appreciate your confidence! ❤

Nice! I hope you find a great project and Happy Birthday too! 🎂🥳
Thank you!! 😊
Is that Lion Brand Re-Spun behind you? I love that stuff!
It sure is!!! I love it too!!! The colors are totally me and it’s nice yarn 😃
I have currently lost my crojo. I've been dealing with a chronic illness that no one can put a name too so it's just been rough getting through the days.
That would be difficult! I can see why it’s hard to create while going through that. Hang in there!
I'm thinking of trying a drop spindle! Do you have a recommendation? Thanks!
I sure do!! That’s great timing Diane, I have it in tomorrow’s member’s only video!! 😃
I left a comment last night, but it looks like it disappeared. I wonder what happened? 😥
I’ve had several I can’t find! It will say 5 comments but I can only see 4. I’m not sure what’s going on 🤦🏻♀️ I’ll be on the lookout for it!
