How dare you try to be informative and helpful to the viewers of your channel! Progress is looking great on the basement build. Have a great week with the families 👍🏻
As a fellow Brummie and returning back here, it's great to see an authentic down to earth builder doing good work. Really enjoy the videos, explanations, and tips. Cheers mate.
I honestly wouldn't worry about the comments saying you talk too much, blah blah blah. If you're telling a story, it's good to get backstory etc. I get comments like that myself (even though people watch my videos to learn lol). I generally ignore them and just do my own thing. At the end of the day it's your channel and you should run it how you want
Mate we appreciate that. You've been with us from the start, I hope you know that we know that and how great full we are or your continued support. Cheers Moon Man. Take care, mate.
“Hopefully it’ll last until the cheque clears”! Made me roar! 😂Cracking video as usual Adam and great to see some good progress up to first lift. You must have had different weather to us in Herefordshire, it’s been persistently peeing down most days! ☔️ The videos will, I know, come when they come! Have a great Easter with the family mate and I hope all your eggs will be unfertilised! 😉
Watching all the way from Australia. I’m finding it fascinating the differences you have compared to what we do, such as lack of water conservation 😂 I’m not in construction (I’m in healthcare), but these videos are great. What I think you should do, and please, this is with good intentions, is spruik your fundraising some more 😊 Your first video was such a success when you first launched the idea! Anyway, that’s my two cents worth 😂 keep these videos coming! Kat
Looks good. I would have left the insulation out of the wall facing the mud ramp part. If there is water ingress from the soil then the insulation will get wet and cause damp issues possibly.
As an ex general builder there aren't many building channels I enjoy but yours is one of them , and I enjoy the talking !!! The explaining is great because so many things change frequently regards rules and regs etc, sod the minority that wants silence thet have the mute button !
That’s spot on. There’s more than one way to get over problems and a lot of the time the customers financial constraints and Building Controls involvement are factors to the method used so explaining that is always beneficial. Great channel
You guys are great, you’re a bunch of cool dudes and I never see you guys getting stressed out at all. Brilliant background music as well. You guys give me something to look forward to on a Sunday 🙂👍 Keep the good work up and I look forward to the next episode 👍
Thought, attention to detail, craftsmen at work. Must feel good to be part of such a team. Thanks again for a great update. The over site is going well
I have had a lot of experience in full renovation etc and i brought one once with subsidence and had to knock the front side of the house down etc i just wished i had this builders number at the time Its always a pleasure to watch professionals at work keep. If anyone needs any extension work why hire the cowboys and loose most of your money when you could hire this chap who you can see his work is good so don't take the risk There's a reason why some builders are a little bit more money but they work out cheaper in the end All the best.
Enjoying this series. Just a suggestion on the retaining wall. Cross bonding the flat laid blockwork, tying the two leafs together would have greatly strengthen the wall. Also helpful when laying flat to stack two courses which results in less cuting when joining the blockwork on edge. Looking forward to the next episode 💪
Hello Kev, hope you're well mate. Can't argue with what you're saying at all. We opted for this method to help prevent water ingress and put the reinforcement in to help give back any strength it may be missing. Hopefully we can all agree that that wall ain't going anywhere!!! Haha! Cheers mate.
@@Mr_A_Builders It doesn't look like that slope will have vehicles travelling over it, so obviously that greatly reduces the potential lateral loading. Ideally this depth of excavation would have some manner of Geo-tech/GI review but invariably the client won't pay for that so you just have to crack on.
Also known as mum and dad according to the brickie foreman from hell it's stronger when point loads applied, why from hell you ask he checked wall ties with a set square and tape , would have had your wall down for the stretched and missing wall ties up the reveal , not me keep up the good work
What a great project, such attention to detail and progress. I will let you off with not showing content next Sunday as I’m not here. Compelling content as always. Happy Easter everyone - take care and stay safe. 🐣 Mike
Yet another brilliant vid Adam. Really looking forward to seeing the end product as I’m sure it’s gonna look amazing. Wishing you all a very well earned break.
Cheers, pal! Thank you for your time yet again. Really appreciate it. Hopefully this job will look stunning when it's done, the customers have shown us some of the materials that they'd like to use and they are fantastic, they have really great taste so fingers crossed we can do them justice. Thanks again mate, have a great evening.
How a few dry days make the world and work a much better place. Good to see you guys laughing and joking again, now the pressure is off !! Good progress guys.
It always amazes me, How complex 'Little Extensions' can be. Yet small Builders get over the problems. Ive done them and worked for the Big Boys as well. If some of the so-called Tier 1 contractors had to do them they would need to buy the houses on both sides just to take the Site Office staff!
This is going back 😂 Use to do bits of pieces of labour work for yourself with Riess and Ben, back in the day. Helped me out while I was unemployed. Looking very professional now Adam 😂

Great video as always! If you are ever thinking of coming to work in Thailand you won't regret it. The standard of your work is far superior to building work in Thailand. And there aren't the rules and regulations you have to contend with in the UK. Also there is the weather and lifestyle that is to be enjoyed too. Look forward to your next video!
Really glad to have found the channel - it’s a real gem and the Sunday evening videos are becoming a bit of a routine. Please keep on doing what you’re doing! As for your underfloor heating don’t use the aluminium spreader plate system that goes in between the joists before the chipboard goes down it never heats through the chipboard well. I would use an overlay system on top of chipboard.

In Ireland we never use wool in a cavity. I’ve literally never seen it done. It blows my mind every time I see it done in the UK 😅
Rockwool cavity fill is supposed to be water-resisting in a normal cavity, but I wouldn't use it against a retaining wall with the inevitable damp.
