Love your videos! I'm pretty sure a plastic water feed does not need bonding to the earth terminal. Earth bonding is for ''extraneous conductive parts'', so if it's plastic no need to bond (as it's not conductive). Even if it then joins onto a copper pipe and continues into the building, it's the part that is coming from outside (i.e ''extraneous'') that would have to be conductive.

It certainly won’t hurt though. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the rest of your sunny Sunday 👍🏻

Extraneous: separate from the object to which it is attached.
In the electrical regulations it refers to any conductive components of the build that aren't connected to ground. Basically it's any metalwork that could become live and present a shock hazard.
Bringing all metal within the build to ground potential allows current to be short circuited and trip a breaker thereby removing the hazard.
If there is no supply authority earth provided a ground stake should be provided to bring the whole installation to ground potential.
If there is a buried metal pipe coming in from outside it will be at ground potential already, but still needs to be bonded to comply with regulations.
I saw so many changes in build and electrical installation methods over the years, we went from 7029 (2.5mm) to 4mm, 6mm, 10mm over the years.

@@Sarge084 Don't know about the UK regs but over here you don't need main bonding if the water mains is plastic but supplementary bonding in bathrooms is required if the internal pipes are copper (or theoretically galvanised if anyone was to still use that, or, as it happens with tight landlords, keep the ancient lead pipework).
And no, I'm not kidding about the lead. A few weeks ago there was a leak on a riser mains in the basement of my brother's place, a cracked solder joint between the lead pipe and a brass gate valve. The repair was to cut out 20 cm of lead and replace that bit with copper. And that's not even a landlord, it's fairly luxurious freehold flats, i.e. everyone owns the flat they live in. Insurance pays for leak repairs but not for full replacement.

@@Sarge084 Sounds like there's some confusion. Equipotential bonding is nothing to do with earthing, and has no relevance to tripping any breakers. It's there to ensure that no extraneous conductors can be at a different potential from those inside the EPZ. If pipework goes underground within the EPZ then there is no risk, however you can do a test to confirm either way.

IMHO I think your going to have ongoing issues with the cooker-hood extraction system. There's going to be water forming at the lowest point of the ducting ie. beneath the steel. plus I'm sure you know; that the run is far longer than the maximum length allowed for the air movement that the extractor will produce. On a lighter note. What do you call someone who used to love Tractors. An ex-tractor fan! Thanks for sharing.
