The fact that their story has remained the same over the years, says a lot, what Lyle tells here is exactly the same that he testified in the trial, and you can tell that they were really scared. Even if their fear sounds irrational for many, in their minds they really thought they were in danger, but people do not understand that the state of mind of abused people works different than that of people who have never suffered any kind of abuse in their lives.
@@eclipse8321 not too hard to keep your story straight when your telling the truth, I just wish people would understand what it's like to live a life of fight or flight, it's pure panick and anxiety, that's what trauma is ,you don't behave rationally you behave out of fear. Free the brothers
@eclipse8321 This doesn't even make any sense. Usually when people are lying about a chain of events, their stories change a lot because they can't adhere to what they're fabricated in their minds.
3:08 lyle was suprised but like erik did actually listen to josé out of fear 😢 lyle was probably thinking that erik should trust him that he would protect them 💕
One thing Lyle said here that he forgot to mention in court and is actually very important. The door to the den being closed by his Dad. Eventually that was the thing that caused Lyle to really panic because there was something not quite right with the door and so they never closed it...except that night. That triggered Lyle into believing that they had guns in there and that they were going to kill them. I bet Lyle never disclosed that to Jill his lawyer or she would have asked him about it because that is why he got so frightened. That den door was never closed because there was a reason and yet his Dad closed it. No wonder that fear for his life exploded. Poor Lyle. He deserves brother of the year award and instead he got prison.
@bluewaters3100 What you said about the DOORS from this clip is SO CENTRAL to their imperfect self defence case that I cannot believe I haven't come across this before, and I have been 4 month non stop Menendez. It PROVES their imperfect self defence case but does anyone else but you and I realise it's significance????? I hesitate to say, but I think few if any do realise the significance. What do you think???
Brah wtf is den? So freakin rich huh plus whats with court and not saying it and with his lawyer that means it isn't true like his just making stories here
They lived in constant fear. I wish I could've saved them in some way, this whole tragedy would not have happened. Lyle and Erik now deserve the chance to live happily!🙏🏻💫
They wouldn't have ended up doing what they did if it wasn't for the constant fear and intense threat to life from those monsters, particulary after Erik told Lyle everything, making them act out in survival mode. They deserve to be happy now! 2025 is for their freedom, Amen. 🙏🏽❤️
I sometimes imagine going back to 1989, just before the killings or maybe even 1988, but I think, what will I do? How do I stop it? Even if I can get close to either of them, why would they believe me? How can I convince 1, let alone 2 brothers?
I don't think he's necessarily saying Erik abandoned him without a word. Didn't he say at the trial that they talked Sunday morning? I can't remember. But it sounds like he's saying they got up and Erik left but not getting into the details. Which is normal to do when you're recalling stuff from your memories. I actually have heard it said that a story that never changes is often rehearsed. Which can be a red flag. So when I hear slight changes in the details they give, that could be a good sign, that they are going by what they happen to remember in the moment instead of a script. Anyway, I remember them saying Erik stopped by around noon. He's not getting into all the details. It sounds like he's practicing with Norma, but I don't think that means anything bad necessarily. Even if it's all true, it's still a performance he has to give just right in court.
Here it's clear he was rushing through the retelling. Sometimes when you're trying to get to the point you leave out the minor details, so I figure those minor details were only more significant at the trial. Also yeah, you speak like this if it's unscripted. He didn't know snake-like Norma was recording too. Doesn't mean anything negative on his side. Plus yeah, I remember he said they'd spoke before Erik had left. However, as the day went by he was probably so worried by the hour himself w Erik as a no show.
The one thing I don't get is Erik told his brother what the father was doing making Lyle heartbroken for him Lyle says be home by eight Erik doesn't because he's afraid yet he doesn't want anything to happen to Lyle .if I were Lyle I would have thrown Erik over my shoulder and left if it could be done regardless of what Erik wanted.they both need to be out
His dad had been bugging him all summer to go to a tennis camp and he didn't go? I thought his dad dictated his every move? I believe them Im just confused about this detail...
@evelyngarrison6007 .Going in the tennis tournament now didn't matter bec he wouldn't be alive long enough to go in it Jose was planning to unalived him so his p+d+. secret wasn't exposed and him ruined
During his testimony he said he was wondering around this area with shops and I think he ate some food and went to the beach to watch the sunset ( copy)

It's not too hard to keep your story straight especially when you don't hear from the opposite side ( their de*d parents)
