Hey I am glad I could help, I am afraid that as soon as it's approved by CD baby and the delivery process has started you can only cancel and upload again. This will cost you money again.

I believe I replied on Instagram. I use separate ones for each project as it's easier to divide the money.

I'm very new to this. I'm not buying cds at this time and don't have any artwork for my single. Is there an option to skip this part or does the artwork go on the streaming/downloading platforms as well?
Hello Patricia, no you cannot skip the artwork part but you can make something easy yourself. Take your picture, add some captions to it, for instance, the name of the single you're about to release. You can also take a picture of nature, an animal.. anything you think might work and prepare it even here www.photopea.com/ - this is like a free online photoshop if you don't have any designing tool.

Please I have a question, I put the release date to 1 week before it drops now it’s pass that 1 week and my song is still being under review does that mean I should change the date or I should let cd baby review and drop the song on there own date ??
You can just wait, but I would contact them as over a week under review sounds a bit suspicious. Usually for me it doesn't take longer than a day.
hiii i have one last question, my song is coming out next week but i only could put in a date not a time so does that mean that my song is getting released at midnight? so 0:00? or is it getting released on a random time on the day?
Yes it will be available from midnight.

You have to wait till the first one arrives to Spotify, then your account is created. This way you can get your profile URL. You can always try to message 'spotify for artists customer service' they're really lovely and I believe they will share your profile url with you before the song is live on Spotify.

Hi Julie, for CD Baby how can I put the original release date. If I re release the single on all platforms with CD baby. Is there an option to put in the original release date like for a re released single. Like on Apple Music, Spotify I can put the og release date for example: March 10th 2018 and it’s coming out in March 10th 2021.
Hello, no you cannot set the date from the past. It has to be future.
Quick question. I'm releasing a single soon, using CD Baby for the first time. When the single delivery status says "Delivered", does that mean that it is approved on the digital stores and will actually be available on the digital stores it was sent to on the release date that I set?

Hello! I'm currently uploading my first song onto CDBaby but it is taking a very long time. I have been waiting for almost 2 hours and it is still uploading. Is this normal? What is your usual wait time for one track?

It happened to me as well… I stop trying to upload my song from my PC because it took more than 2 hours. So I decided to upload from my iphone and took around 2 minutes. Hope you can do as well :)

Hey! Question's coming little late but I was wondering if my songs will automatically be approved. For instance, is there any waiting time for the song to be approved? Or what if my song is declined from publishing after I have paid the money to them? How does that work? Please advice. Thanks!
Unless someone else claimed the songs before you which I doubt if they're your original compositions I don't see why wouldn't they be approved? Why are you afraid they will be declined?

It really depends on many factors. I don't really know Distrokid very well. Maybe if you ask me specific question about available features it will be easier.

Yes, it's up to you what your project is called. But you have to write down your real name in songwriter field.

heya! When i try to upload my song it loads forever, no matter how long i wait. My song is a 2 minute flac with 44.1khz and 16 bitrate. Any clue why? thanks

Some people suggested using different device, try different computer. I’ve never had this issue unfortunately.

@@sharonaurora if you don't have a Spotify account they will create it for you. The next release will be automatically connected to your Spotify. Cd baby doesn't know your tik tok and it's not related to it in any way.

You need to create an account on www.show.co - then adding your CD baby details you get a pre-save campaign for free :) I am happy I could help!

Hey, you have to register your song with PRS and PPL if you're based in the Uk if not find music copyright collective in your country and register your song there. Cd Baby is just a digital music distribution company.

@Wait A min yes, they register your song in 100+ countries and basically become your publisher. It says on the website: CD Baby will register your songs and publishing information with collection societies around the world to make sure you’re capturing maximum publishing revenue for your music.

Good walkthrough. Thanks. Question: I am registered with PRS/IMRO/PPI/MCPS etc. Is CD Baby doing more for Syncs on UA-cam/FB/Insta etc? I'm cautious with this because some years ago I tried some publishing deals with "JinglePunks" and found they were re-registering my works (with a "JP" Prefix) with the same PRO's I was already with and it was confusing. I was concerned they were collecting payments for syncs they did not provide. So I left them. Not sure I understand this whole section^. Could you explain a little more? Cheers!
If you’re already registered there is no need for you to do it through CD baby. I would opt out in your case. I think they offer this to give people full package so they don’t need to go and register with all these organisations separately.

Hello, I'm new to cdbaby, what is opt in for UA-cam, Facebook and collect sync? You don't use UA-cam because you send music to bloggers? What happens if you have opt UA-cam and send music to bloggers? Can't they use your music in their blog?
Hey Henrik, then they will get royalties claim and that’s very often an issue for them because they can’t make money on that video unless you give them signed licence and I assume you will have to deal with CD baby to remove the claim. For me at that point of career it’s just not worth it, unless you have crazy numbers on your songs and every extra use can bring you real money I wouldn’t go for it.

Does it take over an hour and a half to upload your music to cd baby? I uploaded the songs back to back without saving and now it's still uploading. Should I just remove the track leave the page and start over?
Yes there’s quite a lot of comments here regarding this issue. Try again.
Also try different device if you can.

I have one question. I uploaded my track as a WAV file and submitted for distribution, but on my "Paid Items" list it says "Track Name: MP3". Can anyone explain why the "MP3" is written next to my track? Is this normal? I'm paranoid that it's going to go to streaming as an MP3 now haha, and I can't find anyone else talking about this.
Heyy, I’ve never experienced anything like this. Are you sure the file you uploaded was a wav file? Maybe reupload it, you can do it in the first two days I guess. I am sure if you uploaded wav file it won’t change into mp3 :)

No you don’t need anything else. If you choose pro they also register your song for you so you don’t have to register it in PRS or similiar (depending where you’re based). You don’t have to choose pro, I never do because I am registered in PRS already.
@@__melodyhope__ i don’t know what are the registration rules for those but for PRS(uk) it was one time registration fee. I get paid for all radio, tv plays and any festivals I play and I am sure no one’s going to steal my music.

1:18 by the artist name there is a person and a plus icon, click on it and it will open an additional artist window

Yes, All the info you add during the process of uploading your music for distribution is embedded in your songs.

I am not sure. You should be but I suggest using a computer. Your file should be exported as wav file 16 bit, 44 kHz. I wouldn’t convert the file, the best is to have it originally exported as wav.

@@justinlee3419 there is an option while uploading, what countries you want your music to be available in. So if you want it in the whole world just tick the box and that's it.
