I think that $2000 is a extremely high and expensive price.
    You could use
    Behringer umc22 $50 aprox
    Audacity DAW (free)
    Addictive Drums ($149.95)
Bass: depends if a real bass, digital or simulated one (i use a guitar with tone at minimum, bass at max, treble and mid at minimum. It does a pretty good job for metal)
    BIAS FX ($79-179)
Microphone. There are cheaper options that might aswell give a decent sound quality that the one in the video (even Stevie said it in the video) but we are going to leave the one in the video ($299.99)
    Arturio Midi (199.99)
So after all you can get it all from 778.95 to 878.95. In my opinion this is more reasonable. Anyway you can do what you want. Is your money and i cannot tell you what to do with it but i hope this is useful for someone.
PD: i shouldn't be telling you this but if you use piracy you could get you total balance WAAAAAAAY down. But piracy is not ok.

I put together my first home studio 12 years ago, and it cost me almost $5000, not including the $1500 worth of synths that I owned. Literally 5 years later it was all but obsolete. Technology changes so fast, my advice is spend as little as possible. What Stevie put together here is great. There’s actually a package as well from Musicians Friend and some of the other music stores for a mini Mac loaded with all the recording software you need (I believe it’s ProTools), it comes with the monitors and the mic, the computer screen, all the stuff you need to just plug, play and record (minus instruments and controllers), and I believe it’s $1000.00. I can’t vouch for everyone, but personally for recording, I won’t use anything but a Mac. I have had way too many issues with PC’s.
Also just wanted to say, a lot of today’s synths can also be used as midi controllers, I know both my Korg MS2000 and my Roland SH-201 will both work, plus they’re awesome synths on their own. Especially the Korg. If you can find an MS2000 still around they’re only a couple hundred more than a midi controller, for those of you interested in making electronic music. It’s a great looking synth as well.

Another great DAW that's only $99 is Cubase Elements. One of the oldest DAWs and the "full" version is used in countless pro studios around the world but the Elements version is more than enough to make a real album with. Comes with a lot of great synths and studio effects.
Edit: Also, whether it was the intention or not, I wouldn't really take this video too seriously if I was about to start producing music for the first time. Like for example, if you're just going to make instrumental music you obviously don't need a mic and if you're going to make metal then you should get some amp plugins that are known for their good hi-gain tones. Also, headphones are completely viable for recording and mixing as long as you get a decent pair ($150 is more than enough). Especially since you can always just export the track as wav (or mp3) and listen to it in your car or home stereo to check what it sounds like on those systems.

      It most definitely is not.
A friend of mine got the mk2 a few months ago and it sucks compared to my Focusrite 2i2.
It's cheaper quality made and it starts to have audio glitches when used over a longer period of time.
The button for Phantom Power is a switch on the back of the interface, which is totally awkward to reach.
Also it's not as professional-oriented designed as the Focusrite.
You have no switch for monitoring, you just have a dial that goes between monitor and DI feed.
The Steinberg has one red clipping indicator.
The Focusrite has dynamic volume indicators, green, orange and red for clipping.
On the Focusrite you can turn monitoring on or off AND control the monitor and headphone volume seperately. It's far superior to the cheap black box that the Steinberg is.
