I enjoyed seeing your trip and all the lovelies you brought home!
Thank you!! It was incredible!
Looks like an awesome trip. Thanks for sharing.
BTW, you were correct that Þingborg is pronounced thingborg. Þ is the letter Thorn, which existed in Old English, Old Norse, and still exists in Icelandic. It makes a sound similar to th in thing.
Ugh, the geology of iceland is wonderful. Its on my bucket list for sure!
It’s fantastic!! Each area has its own flavor; which made for great exploring. ✨
We’re planning to go to Iceland beginning of June! Was great to hear about your trip. Thanks!
You will love it!!! Stunning scenery, delicious food, and really kind people.
What an incredible trip! Wonderful photos
Thank you!! 💖
I’m a new viewer to your channel. Loved the episode. I’m also a museum worker and had an amazing trip to Iceland in 2017. Wish I’d seen some of the yarn stores you visited but did get to a lot non the less - but any future visit will definitely include your selection. I’ll keep watching.
Hello kindred spirit!! So glad you enjoyed the episode and like you, can’t wait to go back for the yarn, the views, and yummy foods! 💖✈️
Lovely trip
Wow, superb scenery and the northern lights ❤. Loved your lavender hat, it certainly looked warm. Thanks for sharing 👍. I may have to knit myself one.
It’s was a Musselburgh hat that I borrowed from Zoe, fingering weight yarn held with a mohair. It was warmmmmm. 💖
@@yarncurator Thank you for sharing that, I've always liked the Musselburgh and I need a hat with a folded brim or I look like I'm wearing a swim cap. Have just finished knitting an Ankkers hat for a friend, adding mohair and silver Cosmos (sparkle/sequins) and it looks amazing. Look forward to seeing what your working on next episode. Take care. J
Wow so amazing thank you for sharing your beautiful trip with us 💖🫂
Thank you love!!
I really enjoyed following along with your ig posts about your trip. It must have been quite the experience!!
Aw, thanks!!! It was fantastic. I’m dreaming of another vacation, but need the PTO now 😂.
Fantastic video. So fun!! That’s something I would have done…forgetting my coat!!! 😂 glad you had an amazing trip!! ❤
I also forgot my coat when we went to Scotland, but it was at least in the car and Jon could bring it to me 😂🤦🏻♀️. It’s my travel curse 🤣
@@yarncurator too funny!!! at least when I go on vacation I usually go to Florida!! 😂 no coat needed. Well, last time I was freezing overnight and stocked up on sweatshirts. Something I don’t own much of. (Sweater knitwear is what I own). Glad you had a great time and sharing ❤️
I can’t wait to get back there… we mostly hung out in Rekjavik, so I want to see all the other places! And can you believe I didn’t buy yarn there. I was a new knitter and didn’t care as much.
Yes, I would love to go back too!! I’ve seen some steals of flights out of Chicago. Sounds like you and you’re wide need a vacay!
A fascinating podcast from beginning to end! Thanks for taking us along! 🥰
Thank you!!
Thank you so much for all of the wonderful photos and your recounting of the trip! I wanted to get to Iceland back in 2017 when I traveled to Scotland with my daughter and her family, thinking I was already on that side of the Atlantic, but the flights between the countries added a huge cost to my trip, and I decided to wait until another time. Of course, the pandemic put a huge kink in my travel plans for the past three years, but I am hoping to see Iceland, Sweden, and Italy in the not too distant future. 🤞
I feel you on the pandemic for putting a kink in things, I’d been dying to take a trip since 2019. I hope you’re able to meet all your travel goals soon!! They sound amazing!!
Thanks for the views of Iceland and the yarn shops! So cool, I might need to consider visiting one day.
Definitely add it to the list! It’s a totally different landscape and the food, water, air, etc is so good!
What an amazing looking trip! Can’t wait to see what you knit up with all the lovely yarn acquisitions!🧶
Thanks Cher! It was def the trip of a lifetime, already dreaming of going back 😂
Thanks for sharing your trip. Looks like you had a wonderful time and the landscape is stunning!!
Thank you!! It was incredible!
Wow amazing! I have a friend who lives in Iceland and I’m trying to visit next June! I think I’m gonna try and go in time for the knit festival :)
There’s a knitting festival?? What time of year?! I need an excuse to go back. You’re going to love it there! Beautiful country, friendly people, and delicious food.
That was an awesome trip !
It was beautiful and of course YARN ! Lol
What are the online yarn stores that you bought yarn ?
Thanks from France :)
💖✈️✨
Loved your recap Naomi! So great to see more of your travel shots - the whale vertebrae you saw on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula is so cool - I'll have to look out for that in June! Also that Icewear Yarn store around the corner from Litla Prjónabúðin looks neat - I think it only just opened in December, so I'll have to look out for that one too. Glad you picked up some of Kristen's yarns (Vatnsnes Yarn) - her dyeing is lovely - I made my turquoise and ochre Slipstavaganza Shawl entirely out of her dyed yarns... such great colours! And so you know for a future trip, (on the blue Icelandic wool fibre Lyppa that you bought, or any wool in Iceland), the word Litur just means Colour, and Blár is the word for the colour Blue. That will be lovely to spin. Anyway, fun to watch! Cheers, Judith 💜💚
Thanks for sharing all your insider tips!!! I love all the yarns and sights we were able to take in, I could go back over and over again. And the whale vertebrae was on Ytri Tunga beach, our dad was the first to spot it!
@@yarncurator ... Oh good to know, thanks, I've made a note about the vertebrae - I had already noted to go to Ytri Tunga for seal watching, so it will be neat to suss that out too. 🤗
Hey, how fun to relive the trip with you! Can’t wait to see what the yarn becomes! I think I’m going to use the mohair I bought in the cardigan version of Magnolia.
That will be cozy!
Love ie❤😂
