Thingborg - a unique wool shop selling high-quality wool sweaters and other knitted garments. Specially selected lamb wool Lopi and yarn in natural sheep colors and hand dyed by natural methods.
Uppspuni - mini mill - yarn made at the farm - exceptionally soft 100% Icelandic wool yarn from their own sheep. An educational tour of the mill is offered explaining the wonders of turning wool into yarn and the story of Icelandic sheep.
Hespa - is an open plant dye studio where visitors can learn about the old tradition of plant dyeing and watch the dyeing process.

I’m so longing to return to Iceland! I went there in 1979, when the only way to get there was via Icelandic Airways from NYC. (I was starting from Montreal.) I stayed on a farm about 30 minutes from Selfoss. On a different topic, as soon as I saw the machinery at Uppspini, I knew by the brilliant blue that they are from Belfast Mini Mills in PEI. I watch the Fleece and Harmony podcast (also Belfast PEI) and they use BMM’s equipment, too. Another wonderful episode…thank you!

Before the pandemic we took our teenaged daughters to Iceland (during winter!) And we all feel in love with the place, the people, and their philosophy of living. We need to go back during the warmer months when we can see the interior of the country. Can't wait to see what you create from your inspiring ysrns❤
