Big correction: You don't get a light orb for the true ending of Fuko's route. However, the game does not give you her achievement if you friend zone her. You still have to do the romance option for 100%, just for a different reason than what I said in the video. Sorry about that!

22:32 So fun fact, at the very right of this CG you can see a character called Key-chan. She’s a sort of mascot character who makes cameo appearances in some Key VNs.
Thank you for making this. Thank you, truly. It was refreshing hearing someone talk about Fuukos route by itself. She's been my favorite fictional character for nearly 15 years now and means a lot to me.
I like how far into the route we get before Fuko reveals her carvings aren't stars, but starfish, with Tomoya doing a double-take at the news. Sunohara, in turn, thought they were (and keeps referring to them as) shuriken (ninja stars) - but at the very end of the route, when the characters remember Fuko's shtick, they all say "starfish", no mistake there.
I personally find the romance options fitting. She can't have a normal school life thanks to her predicament. So while bringing happiness to her sister, she basically speedruns the school life she could never have. Meeting people, making friends and romance. In there case a innocent kiss.
Starfish and dango family are equally cute! But seriously, the interesting thing about fuko to me in the anime are the theories about her connection to the illusionary world and ushio. A lot of interesting stuff that would make a great spinoff one day.
The entire show was a damn fever dream but she added to it ten fold. she is basically that one side character from chunibyo that just comes in for the butt of a joke.
I love that, for all her goofiness, she stands out as a very special character. She was the only one I remember who could see Ushio's true form; the moment she does is even in the anime's OP.
19:00 Exactly my reaction playing Fuko's route. 22:21 Would love to see a My Journey Through Metal Gear series one day. MGS3 and MGS4 are my all time favorites.
I'd love to make a video on metal gear. Perhaps in the same vein as the pokemon is special video I made. I have a couple series' I'd love to do a personal deep dive into like that one
I remember when I first watched the clannad anime (I didn't know much about it back then) I almost dropped it after fuko disappeared.... Glad I didn't do that lol.
Fuko is the only story arc in the anime make me cry if you dont count after story, it still normal until sanae even tho can't see fuko but still say her can still live here. That part and the part when nagisa and tomoya start to not see her anymore, that part break me, i must stoo watching jand go to sleep just to feel normal again and watch the rest of the show
hey, i wanted to ask this question here as you're the only active clannad youtuber i know and i couldn't find anybody else asking the same question online, i also love clannad and it's my favourite show - the question is, at the foot of the hill where nagisa and tomoya meet, when nagisa is talking to herself about change and her wanting to stay things as is, tomoya replies with "just find new happy and fun things",which would be a way to cope with change, however, he himself feels as if he's stuck in time with nothing interesting going on with his daily life. Would this not also be a solution to his problem? Because if he finds new fun things then he wouldn't be as bored as he is. Is this a situation where because he himself is experienced/ a victim of the passage of time,he's allowed to kind of speak from experience as although it would be a solution to his problem, he can't escape the cycle of his boring life so instead he tells other people that same solution to feel better sorry for asking a stupid question and my poor writing skills, love your content a lot, you put a lot of effort in your videos and i find them very enjoyable
You hit the nail on the head! Here's the way I see it: Nagisa and Tomoya have opposite problems at the beginning of the story. Tomoya is upset that nothing ever changes and Nagisa is upset that things change too fast. Their problems have the same solution, though, which Tomoya tells her at the bottom of the hill. Tomoya knows what he's supposed to be doing to fix his problems, but out of presumably apathy and hopelessness he doesn't take any initiative in doing so. Later on in after story the shoe gets put on the other foot. Tomoya has a good job, a wife, and a baby on the way, and he finds himself wanting everything to stay the same just like Nagisa did. Once things go wrong, it's up to him to take his own advice and cope with change, which he eventually does when he takes over as Ushio's parent. I'm glad to hear you like the videos! And no need to apologize, your question was great
I always watch these videos on a bench late at night with my cat who walks around on his rope. Mr cat thanks you because this is the only time I take him out at night.
On one hand, I want to watch this video for the sake of the lil Starfish gremlin and the jokes, and on the other, I want to keep Clannad reminders to a minimum for when I play the VN or watch the anime again next time-
