Give your truck a sleek recovery system that still turns heads with Rough Country's Hidden Winch Mount for '09 & up Ford F150. This subtle yet innovative design capitalizes on the ample space behind the front bumper to mount your RC or other standard sized winch while keeping everything neat and tidy. A 1/4" plate steel winch mount secures easily and steadily into the frame horns without cutting or drilling. A unique Roller Fairlead Bracket mounts into the front license plate area for a flush design, leaving only the chrome fairlead and tow hook exposed. This kit is easy to install, suitable for one person to do by themselves. Unlike many winch mount solutions, the winch does not have to be installed to the mounting plate prior to installing on the vehicle, making the task that much easier. This kit also includes a solenoid relocation bracket and Grade 8 Hardware. Outfit your new model Ford with this incredible recovery solution at the industry-leading price.
Not going to lie... That is probably the best thing you guys have ever thought of not only do i buy everything for my jeep from you guys but i guess i'm getting one of these for my new truck!!!
My 12000lb came in today . I will be installing this tomorrow. Great demonstration video.
Ar
e you liking the 12k winch? I'm considering one for myself.
@@senfo-s5p I am.. haven't had any problems with it. Should be using it a little more being it's deer season here in NC.
I installed this on my 2013 F-150 STX, i did not need the Flag nut, these bolts on my model are both welded together by a small piece of metal. One you get the back nut into the bolt, put the Tow hook back on the rear, and install the front bolt.
Wow that is really nice. Beautiful work guys.
bought one for my 2013 F-150 FX4, I did not need the flag nuts for what they're intended for (was able to use the existing bolts), and I also had issues with the control mounting plate... I found that it was too small for my control box (Harbor Freight bad lands 12,000 pound winch), I went with the badlands because Project Farm reviewed several winches, and the badlands came out on top... Anyway, I ended up drilling new holes in the bottom of the control box that line up with the mounting plate.
this looks great, but ive to a 2006, not a 2009. just gonna have to take some of the ideas from this and make my own.
My ecoboost had to have an air block put there to prevent it sucking in moisture during heavy rain (apparently this is a common problem), the guy at ford said that the engine is such a beast it will suck in all the air It needs anyway so this system might be fine.
Old video but the directions for this is lacking. Air dam has to be taken off for the plate to mount up…. directions don’t mention this. Seems like good quality though.
I'm not a ford guy. But that look sick on that ford
I understand this won't fit any Ecoboost model but could it be made to work on a 2015+ V8 model? I'd love to make this work on my 2017 V8
Slick setup! Now can you make that for the 2014 Tundra I drive?
now only if you guys made one of these for my 2003 F150...oh well guess I'll have to go with the overpriced warm one.
Cool. Gonna do it.
Will the winch plate at least be able to bolt onto a 2005 f150 I think it maybe the same width of the recovery hooks??? I have a ranch hand bull guard bumper on mine
Has anyone took a chance on this kit for the 04-08 trucks to see if it was workable?
Will this work on a 22 2.7 with the intercooler? I'm finding that wenches block the airflow to the innercoolers?
Quick question for the rough country guys; Do you have to relocate the solenoid onto the rad or can it stay on top of the winch the way it came shipped in the box?
It is best to keep it installed on top of the winch the way it came in the box.
Do you know where I can get the engage and disengage switch
you could but your going to have to reloacate the intercooler
Why do you need the flag bolt?
Do you have one for f250 like that
I just installed this on my 11 f150 today. When wiring the winch it says not to go directly to negative terminal. Where should I ground it. Also what post is best for positive side of battery? Can I hook to the post inside the fuse box?
on frame
Are we not reusing the dust shield that was bolted to the third bolt position behind the tow hooks? Bolts for the mount plate are the place where the dust guard went.
No you will remove the dust shield
I have a 2014 F150 4x4 with V8 5.0. Is there any particular reason why we are not reusing the dust shield or air dam like shomalu is referring to? I was able to put mine back on after the installation of the hidden mount and 12000lb warn winch. My opinion it looks better with the air dam.
@@michaelosteen8036 I put my dust shield back as well..
@@backyrdbully3276 how did you get the bolt to fit ? Mine was too short.
@@michaelosteen8036 how’d you get it to work with the plate ?
should have used a 12000 pound for an f150.
E3guyy Agreed, but for video purposes 9500 did the job.
does this work on a 2014 RoughCountryTV
No
Will a tuff country 3 inch lift allow this? I have a 2010 fx4
I have a 1" leveling (suspension) lift on my 2012 F12 FX4 and Rough Country says it will work but NOT with a >BODY< lift kit. Apparently this changes the height of the fairlead opening relative to the bumper.
Any chance you know what size nuts are needed for the tow hooks if your frame doesn't have the welded ones there from the factory?
Depending on your year, it might be worth a trip to the auto salvage yard to get the factory tow hooks (and bolts). They look (and act) tough and are worthwhile for a heavy pull especially if you are using a snatch block. YMMV
Can you use this on a custom bumper
+FIRENICEWOLF as long as the custom bumper has the opening and will allow for proper mounting of the winch plate itself. Then yes it will work.
Do you make one for the 04-08 XLT SCAB 4x4 NON Heritage new body style?
+Robert Parker No we do not offer one for that particular model.
Well that's just silly
Do you make one for the 2015 Ford F-150 eco boost?
2wd 3.5L v6?
+9989Wolverine we do not offer a winch plate for the eco boost at the moment. No word on us designing one.
Anyone measure it? I need to know height from mounting plate to winch plate (difference of 2 horizontal surfaces). Thank you.
Height with winch box 6.5 inches
Height with out box 6 inches
Width 6 inches
Length 21 inches
@@RoughCountryTV Thanks but I am referring to the winch mount not the winch.
I can't find any 2000 rangers on here need to see something to have an idea on the installation of a badlands universal mount. I NEED HELP!!!!!!!
All we offer for a 2000 Ford Ranger is a 1.5" leveling kit. We don't offer any other accessories for that make and model.
Do y'all now if there is a full bumper with mount attached.
What is this leveling kit for.
A leveling kit will raise the front of your truck's suspension up to match the rear, eliminating rake, and thus leveling the truck. This will allow you to fit more aggressive tires on your truck. I would contact Badlands regarding the mount.
Will this work with the ecoboost?
It wouldn't be advised. The intercooler needs as much air as it can get in order for the truck to be as efficient as its supposed to, and if you block it with the winch mount and roller fairlead then it wont be able to get the air it needs. Plus the intercooler would be in the way anyway.
whitemotorbike2011
Why dont you guys promote safety? You guys just use a gun instead if a torque wrench. Mind blowing
STFU with your safety. Using air tools just makes it a whole lot easier for the mechanic. You try cranking wrenches for 10 hours a day, see if you can even lift your arms after the first week...
Poor video from the ones who make the part. Watch another video and you will put this together easier. You don't always need the flag bolt and you can reinstall the dust shield. Don't discard I like these fools tell you to do. Would be nice not to have to go online to have paper instructions. How cheap can you be?
My ecoboost had to have an air block put there to prevent it sucking in moisture during heavy rain (apparently this is a common problem), the guy at ford said that the engine is such a beast it will suck in all the air It needs anyway so this system might be fine.
