I suppose it’s a compliment to your design that they would copy it, but it’s really frustrating that they can get away with listing a knockoff on Amazon. Ordered an F150 yesterday and I will definitely be picking up one of these and a dash mount from your company. Keep it up

I received mine yesterday and just watch your video on the installation and I’m excited to put it in tomorrow. I just wanted to say that there was one thing that you left out in the contents of the box and that was a nice note that made it very personable and stated that you would do anything to make sure the product worked. Just installed mine today - works like a charm. The tip about giving it a little space when it is in the locked position was perfect.

Took me 4-5 tries to release the latch by hand, couple of scuffed knuckles, it is definitely a pain to get to it.
T30 socket and a 2 minute rear seat release install , worked perfectly
Will be perfect place for tow strap, couple tools, Etc.

Searched UA-cam for how to open latch, came across this video and ordered the part. Received it within 2 days. Took me more time to unscrew the screws than this quick install. Very good vid. Thanks.

I just installed built right latch release. 5min install. Quality part for sure. No jawbreaker in my box for some reason... but oh well. Very happy with the product and that it is made proudly in the USA. Thanks. I will be ordering more of your parts in the future for sure.

I just recently installed mine. It was easy, now the extra storage space is really nice to have and use.
Just installed mine. Works great. Total time about 10 minutes. Had to slide the pin in the receiver on the aft bulkhead up to get it latch, but no other issues.
Didn't even know this was an option till now. Just ordered a 2020 and guaranteed one of these will be going into it.
Very underrated product, this thing saved me so much time and money. It’s definitely worth at least 100 bucks if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Thanks for the instructions. It worked perfectly on our new 2023 XLT. I did the same thing on our 2011 FX2 twelve years ago using small chain and keychain loop. This is way better!

Yesterday I discovered I could access behind the rear seat for added storage. I had seen some DYI hacks but I liked this better, So does my wife. So I just ordered a pair for my 2010 supercrew cab F150. I look forward to reviewing once I have them installed.

I just added a loop of paracord to the factory nylon. Grabbing the factory job is ridiculously hard to do but with about 1 foot of paracord you make it ridiculously easy.

On July 03 I ordered (2) kits for my 2009 F-150. My order arrived on July 08 only to find only (1) kit. I contacted Matt and he apologized for the shipping error and said he would send one out the next day, July 09. My package arrived on Saturday July 11. Is your truck a super cab or crew cab? I’d like to install one in my 2010 super cab but can’t find out if it’ll fit.
I bought a 2009 new it's now 2020 I didn't know the seat would flip forward, thanks Ford!

Thanks, had to re-watch, to see how it all goes together! Works great. On mine, once installed, I have to lift the bottom part of the seat up a couple of inches, and the back then seats nicely, where I can then click the bottom in. Happy with the product!

I previously did the "home brew" version of this seat latch mod -- you know, with little metal rings and paracord?? Didn't hold up to frequent use. I set up my Ham radio gear/kit behind these seats, and I was getting in there at least weekly; those little metal rings just plain got bent out of shape and didn't work long.
Enter the BuiltRight F150 Seat Latch mod!! I ordered two, got them quickly, and took no more than 7 minutes to install on both sides. Works perfectly, and the materials are solid, built to last.
You have built a better mousetrap -- every F150 SuperCrew should order two of these to do what Ford should have done in the first place.

literally had to get my son to help me get the darn seat down as he was home from school. Immediately I ordered this kit as I knew if I put the darn seat back I would be dealing with getting it back down again by myself. Installation looks simple enough. Will be getting this done this evening. After that it's the closing of the seat and hoping it sets. Thank you for having this product. Ford should have taken care of this already. No reason why they could not have engineered the same latch on the 40 side for the 60 side. Nonetheless opportunity for Built Right Industries to do right!. After this I'm getting your bed rack system for my 17 Ford F250 extended cab 8 ft bed!!

Installed easily and now I can get back in there no problem!! Excellent product!. As soon as I've got the money, I'll be getting the bed rack system. BTW what ever happened to the Hi Jack mount you were prototyping a while ago. Are you still working on that?

Love mine. You have to be careful and test the latch before locking it and adjust the Builtright plate before putting the seatback it it's place. Also hold the pull tab loop as you put the seat back into position otherwise you have to fish it out from behind the seat with level 1 profanity on a 5 point scale.

i just installed this on a XLT 2020 and it worked beautifully. My seat does not raise the back so I had some difficulty getting the back down but eventually fished it out.
How did you do it? I have a supercab 2020 and I'm struggling right now
Looks good. An extended cab is even more fun to get your hand back there. Seat doesn't come forward like a four door truck.
I just bent the tip part of the latch and use a shoe lace and I was good to go, no money required
Would advise that you fold the seat down to see if you have any available room to store anything prior to purchasing. This is not a knock on the product, the build quality is great! I own a 2016 Limited and there’s not much, if any room at all, to store anything. Hope this helps would be buyers of this product thinking that Ford has somehow gypped us by not adding a lever to fold the seat down
This is great advice! Depending on how well optioned your truck is (and a 16 Limited definitely has the bells and whistles), there's less space because the sub, amp, etc occupy a good amount of it. Thanks for pointing it out, we'll try to get something to that effect on the website. Definitely don't want to sell you anything that you can't use!

This a well designed product. I did, however had an issue after the bracket was installed. I had to give the rear seat back a pretty good smack to get it to set the latch after several "firm" attempts.....This may help others. (2020 F150 super crew STX 4x4) Cheers!

yep, it works like a champ. Nice job Matt! I did discover that my new Lariat has a power amp and subwoofer behind the 60 seat, but I still get some storage room and it's nice to be able to get to the amp and subwoofer if needed.
I had one for my prior F150 and it worked flawlessly. Installed a new one on my 2023 F150 and it works but getting it to latch again takes an act of congress and many curse words - not sure how to adjust to work better. It will be awesome, I know, once I get this one sorted.

Love the product, easy to install however; I stripped both bolts. Both bolts were tight, very tight; had to use a set of visegrips to remove both bolts. After that it was an easy installed.
Is their a right and left or it doesn’t matter?
No need for a box wrench as the release catch is only 6 inches below the top of the rear seat and easy to release with your fingers. The T30 screws are tightened with considerable torque and a hand torx driver was no up to the task. I used a T30 on a 1/4" socket wrench to get the screws loose. Good idea to place them as they are removed into a magnetic metal tray. Not mentioned but the nylon strap needs to be pushed down so as to allow the latch mechanism to close and keep the seat back in place.
If you have the Bose system with a subwoofer, then when you pull that seat down you fill find a space-filling plastic subwoofer enclosure and an amplifier and not much other space at all. The passenger side on my 2020 Tremor seemed to have a different latch. Under that seat is a 12v to 110 volt inverter and a pot jack. So no room there either.

There is no official 'storage' back there. The only reason the seatback folds down is for maintenance access.
If this were Microsoft, not having the latch would be considered a "feature"

Does this work on a 16 super cab? My seat back doesn't move when the bottom is folded, and theres no access to release the back
Yes! As you've noted, your seat back doesn't move, which makes releasing the seat initially a bit more challenging, but once it's down, everything should look the same back there. You'll notice that the latch has a square head, which is meant to sit inside of the larger of the two overlapping holes in our product (an update not shown in this video).
