Here’s my concern about the youth travel sports leagues - how does it NOT end up with a lot of these kids suffering from burnout?

We loved youth travel sports for the right kid in our family. We played sports years around. One sport at a time. Families are ruining the sports, not travel. We were blessed to afford it. We had four to five kids playing sports. Swim, football, basketball, basevball, and soccer. One kid played travel. I am competitive. My husband is not. He is a great coach. We traveled for 6 ish years. This was 20 years ago. We did it together. We usually sat back, and watched travel ball. It is a commitment and pressure for the kid and family. I was the bad sport parent, a good sport parent and finally a great sport parent. Life lessons. Over the years I matured. Hahaha. We did not let our kids pitch until high school.

My sister was the big athlete and my family was divided. My mom took my sister to so much soccer and I was left behind. It messed with me. I fully believed my mom loved my sister more. If you choose to do travel sports only have one kid.
