- Brooks & Dunn are a country music duo featuring songwriters Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. They’re known for their many hits like “Neon Moon”, “Boot Scootin’ Boogie”, “Red Dirt Road” and more. Their album “Reboot 2” comes out November 15th featuring new takes on their classic songs.
Theo heads to the legendary RCA Recording Studios in Nashville to meet up with country music icons Brooks & Dunn. They talk about the early days of writing some of their biggest hits while still strangers, memories of their friend Johnny Cash, and the competitive side of making music.

In 2010, my house was broke into and the neighbor called the cops cuz I was not home. Cops knew I hustled, but couldn't ever catch me. When I arrived, they had my scales l, guns, and about $7800 in cash. They charge me with a F5. In the police report, it was noted that no $ was found. Told my lawyer and he laughed and said I'm not the 1st or the last it will happen too.. fast forward to 2022, that detective and his partner were indicted by the feds for sleeping with their CIs 😂

This is such a great episode!! I was never a fan of these guys because when they came out, they always felt like they were 'manufactured' to sell records and win awards. But hearing their candor about being exactly that, it was great that they pulled back the curtain to let us see who they really were and who they really are and I can genuinely say now that it has changed my mind about these guys.
Not that they would give a shit about my opinion of them, but if the point of the interview was to reach perhaps non fans and enlighten, well, it worked.
These are a couple of good dudes before it all started and they seem to have come out the other end better than most and can be proud, humble, funny and grateful for the whole thing.
They changed my tune. May have to pick up a B&D record or two, see how that goes.

It seems like female county singers are at a massive advantage. I'm in the UK and only know country stars that had big hits going into the international mainstream, and the only country singers I know are female, except for Jonny Cash and Billy Ray Cyrus.
