I’ve been using the magma case for a few weeks and definitely love how light it is for me. Also in case anyone was wondering, you can fit your Apple Pencil with a silicone case over it, it will still fit I. The Apple Pencil holder.
My only issue with Zugu is when using the stand, the soft material has to touch the surface, potentially picking up debris and being in contact with the screen once it’s closed.
Hey there. That is an issue…picking up cat hair and dust…but I prefer on the Zugu how the base is behind the screen….so I can use the iPad on my lap or any surface and it is secure and doesn’t go anywhere. I don’t think the other brand would sit as securely on my lap or a pillow, etc.I have 2 Zugu cases on older iPads and love them for that very reason.
@@JDDoug6930 Thank you. I wish they would have featured it in this long video. I am on my third ZuGu case now and still love them all. I don’t use a pencil so that feature doesn’t apply. I do like how the adjustable base is behind the screen when on my lap. I suppose if ZuGu were no longer available I would go for the TineeOwl. It looks like a very good product.
The TineeOwl is a thinner and more symmetrical case. The Zugu does have the extra protective layer due to sheer thickness, but the TineeOwl Magma preserves the slime and light use of the iPad Pro. I also prefer the TineeOwl Magma’s more traditional folio orientation and design. The fact that the inner component of the front cover does not make contact with surfaces when standing is a major benefit. When using it in book mode, the inside of the cover may be slightly exposed, but if the user is holding the case in hand, this should not be much of an issue.
Wish the magma came for the iPad Pro 11 inch. It’s the perfect case. I might have to go with the Zugu or wait to see if tineeowl releases one for the 11 inch soon.
Thanks for the comparison. I have the ZUgu in brown for my 2018 12.9 (which has some battery issues)--and especially like it because it can be used easily in my lap--which I tend to do most of the time. I wonder how the TineeOwl works in that case. For day to day I use a Magic keyboard case on my 2021 12.9--mostly in my lap--but am looking again at a Brydge Max+ for same use because my Magic is starting to show some wear that likely will result in even worse wear--and they both work well in lap or desk. However, if I would use the 2018 day to day again, I would likely buy the Zugu because of the way it allows for angles which works well in lap.
Thanks for the Review but Zugu is still ahead don't think they are the same. The speaker holes on the magma are not aligned properly from the video. Also, if the magma can't be set on the fridge that a strike against it and don't think the slots on the magma are as sturdy IMO. Great work with all your accessory reviews.
The speaker holes in the TineeOwl are widened to accommodate multiple generations of the iPad Pro 12.9. The Zugu case must be purchased exclusively for the specific generation due to the various speaker grills in across the iPad Pro 12.9 generations from 4th through 6th.
Thanks for the review, really helped on a decision for my 12.9 pro. Getting the owl due to I’m a sucker for darker basic colors🤷🏼♂️😅and the more secure pencil holder. Thanks again subscribed 😎👊👊👊

@@vestcoat The TineeOwl Magma works really well in “lap” mode. That is one of the points of emphasis they highlight in their advertising.

Couldn’t agree more! Zugu is undeniably INCOMPARABLE with the other one, what’s its name again?

ZUGU hands down, I have had three of them on my different iPads. I find bargains of the ZAGU on Ebay.
Thanks for sharing.

Can you use a glass screen protector with the zugu?

Hi sir the case zugu you have it have 10 angle how please answer me
The Zugu is so thick and ugly, the magma is the better choice unless you’re really reckless with your iPad.
