I've been using a Zugu case for drawing for 5 years. Truly a magnificent thing. I finally upgraded from the 2017 12.9 to the M2 12.9, and I wouldn't imagine going with another case. It's so integrated into my workflow now.
I really like how this case provided another option to place the "eppih pencil".
useful for folk with allergies!

I bought a zugu for my iPad Pro 12.9 2017 and love it. Being clumsy; I need drop protection. I prefer a folio case. I’ve suffered w folio cases that fell down in the lowest position. The Zugu met my needs + Apple Pencil storage.
I almost never use an external keyboard & when I do I use my Apple Bluetooth keyboard.
I have become very used to typing on the virtual keyboard especially since my Apple devices get getting larger.
The excellent workmanship helped ease the pain of its cost.
The only gripe is that the protective felt surface that goes against my screen is also on the surface when in use. I sometimes use a bandana or a paper towel in public places.
stewart hart I think the one down size u had to this case is the one reason why I wont get it. That goes right back against the screen after using it. That is the perfect recipe for scratching
Just get a tempered glass screen protector or paperlike to prevent scratches on the actual screen and you are good to go

Eine Frage hab ich trotzdem noch, kann man das ipad im ZUGU Case problemlos auf die Rückseite legen ohne das es wackelt und stört die hohe Kante vom Case wenn man viel mit dem Apple Pencil schreibt? Möchte die Hülle in der Schule verwenden, ist wirklich wichtig dass es ohne zu wackeln gerade auf den Tisch gelegt werden kann um darauf zu schreiben.

can you use paperlike screen guard with zugu case?
I have been using this brand for a while now and it is definitely my #1 recommendation. I like the side tab for opening so I do not pull my pencil off when I open it from the center, they thought of everything!! I like putting it on my refrigerator while cooking to FaceTime or watch cooking videos or movies while I am stuck in the kitchen too
You are an excellent presenter. While I can tell you're not a native english speaker you handle the language with aplomb. And your slight accent just adds to the listenability. And your content is spot on. I think I'll subscribe! And where is that little keyboard?
I purchased one for my iPad Pro 12.9” 2018 and I liked it. The two negatives are the weight and the lack of protection. My 2018 iPad slid off a table , bounced off my shoe and then landed face down. My 3 month old iPad screen then shattered. I would have expected a $70 case to better protect the iPad. Zugu advertises protection from a 5 foot drop, yet mine didn’t survive 3 feet. In the end, this case cost me $650 in screen repairs for a 3 month old ipad. When I reached out to Zugu, I never heard back. Amazon did finally accepted the case back minus a restocking fee.
In case you didn’t know, the Apple Pencil charges when sitting on top of the Zugu case when not in sleep mode. I don’t recall you mentioning that. Thanks

I bought this case for my iPad Pro 10.5. It’s a great case. Normally I end up with a few but there’s no need with this one. Highly recommend this one.

I’ve heard this case is really bulky. Is this true? I just purchased an iPad 13 air and it’s so thin and light that I’d like to avoid getting anything too bulky and heavy for it.
Nice personal review. Not overwhelming music or goofy unwrapping. I believe the top pencil storage is specifically for charging, while the side storage is just for storage.
It’s funny how u seem to never let ur guard down, but gradually and eventually submit to the positive consensus 😂. The Zulu case + the foldable touchpad combo u recommended is making my mouth waterful... I’ll definitely have my eyes on them!
It’s a kick-ass case. I’ve had one on my iPad Pro 9.7 inch for years. Very durable and very useful.
I take my iPad Mini out of the Moshi Versa Cover on a regular basis (100 times/year) to attach it to my car mount.
How easy is it to remove the iPad from the Zugu case & do you think that the attachment points are robust enough to endure this type of use over time?
I ask as the Moshi faired well considering "years" of use - but the camera corner cracked open & needed some tape to keep it in tact.
One more thing about the Zugu case. The magnets 🧲 are so strong that you can stick it on your refrigerator. That’s neat. Imagine you’re doing things in the kitchen and put the iPad there to read a recipe or listen to music 🎶
I do the same! It's great while I'm batch cooking and in the kitchen a whole afternoon.

I just got mine today, was a little nervous to put it on my fridge...then it started slowly sliding down “ut oh” before realizing I had to fold up the flap in the back ;)
Does the front cover have magnets to keep from flapping when you want it closed ?
Wife and I both use this cover/case and we both love them. The adjustable tilt angle magnets work great and the Apple Pencil storage is well thought through.
I have it for my iPad Pro and both of my kids iPad...best case IMO for any iPad....Since my favorite color is red, I was happy to see they had it. I also love the fact if your cooking you can actually stick the case on you refrigerator and watch your shows...great case all around...they thought of everything.

Hello. When the cover is folded back on itself, does the cover magnetically stay in place? Or does it flap about?
Had this case for a couple of weeks now. I really like this one over others. Pluses for me are pencil and multi-positions. Downsides are the base that rests on the table surface also touches the screen when closed so just be aware of the surface you’ll be placing it on. And, the base is a little flimsy if you pick it up by the base when open. Another helpful video, thanks Tom!

Question: I like to use the iPad Pro 12.9 to take pictures. Can I fold the cover and still take a picture or will folding the cover block the camera?

Bought one for my first Apple iPad 12.9, didn’t like it, and put it back in box, thought I would try the company again and it slides off the sides too easy with your palm on the new 12.9 iPad Pro 3rd Gen, and who cares if it feels cozy it don’t care, is nice inside, it just does not secure the iPad tightly,
Around the sides, the rest is fine, the pen holder is nice, and the stand works great just slides off too easy. Only review I ever wrote too.

Loved the review and i got me the case and keyboard, BUT... how did you solve the paperlike screen protector corners issue? I assume you must have had some of the issues i do, is not a big issue but it sort of bugs me how the case makes the corners of the paperlike screen protector come lift a bit and little bubble-like things come on the corners and a bit on sides too due to the case pushing the protector a bit. Hope you or someone could give a hack or way to fix it.
Hey Tom, I keep my iPad in flight mode when I am not using it and the pencil can stay on the magnet without draining the battery. I've found out that when on flight mode, the Pencil does not charge off the iPad when it rests on the magnet. So I preserve the battery by doing away with recharging unnecessarily, the pencil does not discharge the iPad and I don't have to store the pencil away.

Can you write with the Apple Pencil with this case without it being uncomfortable because of the raised edges?
I just bought the iPad Gen 6 for my high school teen. Thinking about this Zugu case for it....do you know if this Zugu case can accommodate a glass screen protector? Very good review. I see that you have to use the inside cover on the outside to use the magnets to stand the iPad, whether it be on the table or say on the bed. Do find that the inside cover gets dirty or accumulates dust?

Bought a Zugu case in 2019, from Amazon the external surface material, is peeling off , the soft material on the part that cover the screen has already came apart
The problem I have with the Apple Folio Keyboard case is that my ipad has slipped out. This one you demoed seems very sturdy. I plan on getting this with your affiliate link.
I agree about battery drain. I think you're right leaving the pencil attached drains the battery. The 'HEY SIRI" option listening all the time, does the same thing.
Another great vid. I think the sacrifices of having a keyboard case just isn’t worth it. This is the most secure and well-thought out case I’ve seen.

I have yet to see a keyboard case I like. Since I draw alot It's a must that the keyboard is removable. So for me the zugu case and the keysToGo from logitech has been a awsome setup for me :)

I have had one for months and I love it. My wife got one after she saw mine. I would use it all the time but I have problems with the on-screen keyboard being frequently non-responsive so I use a Logitech slim folio Pro when I need to type a lot.

It’s probably a good idea to wait to get a keyboard cover for 2018 iPad Pro, since iPad OS is releasing this fall with mouse/trackpad support, I imagine we’ll be seeing new iPad specific keyboard cases with built in trackpads, perhaps next year.
I play the piano and use forScore for music - does the case fold all the way back flat so I can put it up on my piano?
I loved this case, but it peels badly in hot weather with sweaty hands, now I’m looking for something else
Agreed; I bought 4 of them in 2018 and they are all peeling and falling apart they are leaving a mess everywhere due to the material rubbing off. I'm also looking for something else. These cases were also very expensive at $59 USD and should not be falling apart. That's the problem with using substandard materials for a nicely designed case.

While I do agree with you Tom, that it's a very nice and well made case, I am considerate about the fact that you stand your case/iPad on the side which sits on the screen when the case is closed. Wished they could of made the dents for the stand on the inside to avoid getting the inside part dirty.

Hey. Zugu case may be the best but it's also very expensive for a case. Ztotop is worse but it's not so expensive and it's not so bad. You say it is not so stable as a Zugu, but you test it without an ipad inside. I am sure it is stable and rigid enough with an actual device inside.

The back is bumpy. If I put it on desk (as flat) and write / draw on with pencil, can I damage it by applying pressure? Because of the design, it looks it won't sit sturdy on table. Or maybe I'm wrong?
My case has a fully enclosed pencil slot that holds the pencil in any rotation, so I rotate the flat side up to keep it from draining the battery. Does the Zulu not hold the pencil that way?
Quick question, why are there holes on the back of the case?? Is it just for design or are they there for a useful purpose?
It is meant to improve areation for better cooling. 🤓

I bought this case and I really love it except for one thing: it fits so tight that I’m afraid I’m going to break the screen on my iPad when I’m taking it in or out. Are you afraid of that?

I have the apple wireless keyboard in an incase origami case which allows me to drop my iPad in its protective case into. It's a good workflow for me. I don't like a keyboard attached when not typing. I also want full protection. This case seems great.
Can you plug in a usb-C hub into the side?
Even though I like the wireless keyboard I'll check out that little portable keyboard.

What drain de battery is Wifi connection when not using your iPad for long period.
Love this case. I have gotten a total of 5 of them. For family iPads..
you should design or even develop an ideal case, with your ideas regarding the daily use of the iPad Pro. it would be really cool, even if it is a project or just design (a draw for exemple) on your iPad Pro.
Is it easy to take the ipad in and out of the case? I am thinking of getting Sketchboard Pro for working at my desk, and want to quickly take it out of whatever case I get.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy if you compare it to the Magic Keyboard Case. However, it isn't too hard either. Do this several times, won't hurt your iPad. But if you are looking to take it out quickly you might need another solution.

After thinking about this case further. There does not seem to be a good way to use it for portrait mode. I use portrait for Instagram and for reading books. Also I wish they would make a case that you can use the camera when the top is flipped back. My iPad Pro has an awesome camera but cases don’t make it easy to use! (I am one of the few people who don’t have an iPhone and don’t want one, my cheap cell works fine.) Maybe some time they will make one!

So glad I saw this video review of this case! To say I am picky about cases is an understatement. I LOVE this case. And love how you hug it in this video....totally get it. This case feels and looks perfect! Yay! If only I had found this one first, could have saved myself lots of $$. Oh well...end result is worth it!
